Chapter 168: The Newcomer is Very Arrogant

“What’s up? Why’d you two stop?” Sister Lin looked at me as I stood up, asking seriously.

I exploded, “Stop? Screw that!”

Sister Lin blinked, then said, “I meant for you to continue with my Mei’er!”

Her words left me speechless.

Seeing me silent, Sister Lin pressed, “Need me to grab some cond0ms or something?”

“Sis, I’m done!” I cursed my luck for meeting this weirdo, Lin Mengxin!

“Uh… what’s going on?” Sister Lin still looked clueless.

Tears in my eyes, I walked past her. “Nothing. You’re just too awesome! I admire you!”

“I bought groceries. Don’t forget to cook!” Sister Lin shouted as I walked away.

I ignored her. D*mn it!

In the kitchen, Qin Mengdie was already chopping vegetables.

“Need help?” I smiled at Qin Mengdie.

Qin Mengdie was at her best when cooking. Though still cold in speech, her icy aura was gone. In an apron, she looked like a virtuous wife.

But she was my protection target, and with Mei’er in the picture, I could only watch this goddess slip by.

Sigh, I’m just too loyal…

Qin Mengdie looked up, pausing. “No need. To make it easier, let’s split it. I cook on even days, you on odd.”

“Deal!” I smiled and headed to the living room.

Qin Mengdie was my protection target. I couldn’t fathom why someone would hire assassins to kill her.

Judging by Qin Shousheng’s demeanor, this assassin group was no ordinary one.

If her situation was so dangerous, why send her to Shenghua? Isn’t that asking for trouble?

Whatever. Not my concern. Better not know, or I’d scare myself to death.

I turned on the TV. It’d been ages since I watched.

But, of course…

Damn it! 7:30 PM! I finally get to watch TV, and it’s freaking 7:30! Every channel’s the same crap!

Frustrated, I turned off the TV and returned to my room. Qin Mengdie said she’d cook, so I didn’t need to help.

Gaming on my laptop was a hassle, and I was bored, so I opened the school forum.

The “Campus Beauty Ranking” post was no longer pinned. No one discussed it anymore. Trends come and go, and even beauties lose their charm over time.

As the forum loaded, a “hot” post caught my eye.

“I’m Here to Challenge: Karate Club Gets Owned, Martial Arts Club Newcomer Arrogantly Crushes Black Belt President Lin Youchen!”

The post was near the top and highlighted.

Clicking it, I saw it was posted shortly after we left the Karate Club.

Only our Martial Arts Club members were there besides the Karate Club. Logically, this shouldn’t have leaked, yet someone posted it with photos.

The internet’s power is insane.

Today, a Martial Arts Club newcomer, with President Yang Xue and Vice President Yang Fan, stormed the Karate Club. The newcomer was arrogant, barging in and shouting, “I’m here to challenge!”

Details below (with pics and proof).

Next were photos of me kicking the vice president and Lin Youchen, with slightly humorous captions.

I wondered how Lin Youchen would feel seeing this. The poster was brutally honest, sparing no one.

For me: “This newcomer knows martial arts but lacks virtue, slapping people on sight!”

For Lin Youchen: “Eats dirt after a kick from the newcomer,” “Casually slapped by the newcomer,” and more.

The replies were often more entertaining than the post itself.

“Love to see it.”

“Finally, justice for us nerds!”

“No Photoshop here. Verified.”

“Mark.”

“Name saved.”

The first few replies were just noise. Scrolling down, I found real comments.

“Is Lin Youchen even a second-degree black belt? Beaten like this by a freshman. Embarrassing!”

“Shut up, you know nothing! Our president could crush you three times over!”

“That freshman’s an idiot for hitting our Prince Youchen! He better hope I don’t find out his name!”

“Brainless fans. Lin Youchen’s just a pretty face with money. You think he’s actually skilled?”

“Brainless? Your whole family’s brainless!”

What the hell? It’s all just flaming, barely any real discussion!

Shaking my head, I exited the post.

Scrolling further, it was just dull posts: what I ate, how many bathroom trips, got dumped again. Boring.

I was about to close the forum when I accidentally hit refresh, and a surprising post popped up.

A new pinned post, already with thousands of replies.

I’d spent maybe five minutes on the last post, and this new one already had thousands of replies. Insane!

“World-Class Freshman Meetup: Freshmen from top global universities will visit our campus for a life experience…”

World-class? With so many top universities, how many people would come?

Reading the post, I understood the meetup.

The top universities from Japan, the US, South Korea, and Thailand would each send their ten best freshmen for an exchange.

Tsinghua and Peking Universities would also send people. This was gonna be lively.

No exact date was given, just “soon.”

The poster provided school proof, so no one doubted it.

Six foreign universities total. Shenghua would be buzzing.

Not surprising, given the wealth of Shenghua’s four backing families. Organizing a top-school meetup was easy.

“Dinner’s ready!” Tang Shuyao’s voice called from outside.

I closed my laptop and went to the living room.

“Today’s dishes are all by Sister Mengdie. You narcissist didn’t even help!” Tang Shuyao frowned at me.

I paused, then said, “Mengdie and I agreed: she cooks on even days, I cook on odd.”

“You narcissist don’t know how to cherish a lady!” Tang Shuyao turned and sat down. “This lady’s starving, no more talking!”

Sister Lin, Mei’er, and Xu Xin came downstairs.

As we sat, the apartment door swung open. Wang Ziyan rushed in. “Wait! Save some for me!”

Hey, the girl wasn’t late this time. Everyone started eating.

“Ah!” Wang Ziyan suddenly screamed.

I looked at her pained face. “What’s wrong?”

She stared at me, then grimaced. “Ate too fast. Bit my tongue.”

Everyone at the table burst out laughing.

If only every day could be this harmonious!
