Chapter 56: The Tricky Judge VII

It was like time, paused for a moment, starts flowing again, everything moves.

“Oof? Why’s the examiner here?”

Heavy silence lingers.

Wabid and Noah’s faces grow paler, as if poisoned by some deadly venom.

“Ah! Even Isti’s here! What’s going on?”

From their view, Karen suddenly forgets everything, pure as ever. How could that not be terrifying?

While Noah and Wabid stand rigid, I gently wrap my arm around Karen’s wa!st.

“Karen, listen up.”

“Yeah, I’m listening.”

“We came to this dungeon for an extra test. All that’s left is the examiner’s fair judgment.”

“So that’s why everyone… Oh! Is Wabid an examiner too?”

“Yup. He’s been watching us, checking for foul play. I need to talk with the examiner now. Can you wait outside?”

“Got it. Examiner, please take care!”

Karen bows, and Noah flinches.

“Understood…”

“Can you open the secret room for Karen to leave?”

“…”

“It’d be better for you, no?”

Noah turns, operating the secret switch on the wall. The passage opens again.

“Karen, see you outside.”

“Okay, Big Bro!”

Karen leaves with an innocent, clueless face.

“Isti, can you take Karen and wait at the inn?”

“Without me, darling might be in danger.”

“It’s fine. You know my specialty.”

“Oh…”

Isti flashes a bright smile.

“Alright. Noah was rude to darling, so no choice.”

“No choice? A noble elf says that, after seeing all this…!”

“For an elf, trusting and following a loved one is sacred, Noah. I hope you sincerely apologize to darling.”

“You think you can protect yourself from me without an elf’s help?” Noah snaps at me.

“Sure. You’ll help prove my innocence, right?”

“Innocence? Now?!”

As Isti turns away, Noah lunges. I calmly grab Noah’s wrist.

“Ah…!?”

“This is diamond-rank skill?”

“Why… my b0dy…!”

“Not working as you want?”

I lean close, whispering in Noah’s ear.

“Because you have to help me.”

“What did you do to me? Like with other women, made me a s1ave?”

“A s1ave? You think it’s like that?”

That’s the vague impression of hypnosis—turning people into s1aves to control at will.

That’s fun sometimes, sure.

“The deeper I understand human psychology, the more fun hypnosis gets. A smart woman like you, who obsesses over details, tries to find loopholes in orders, using meticulous logic to act against my intent.”

“…”

“But because you’re that kind of woman, you can’t resist actions that help me. You’re always thinking about what helps me, so you can’t clear your mind.”

“Ugh, ugh!”

Noah struggles in my grip. Normally, with our power gap, Noah could easily break free. If Noah had Isti’s strength, I’d be overpowered in a snap.

“Help me prove my innocence.”

Noah’s b0dy weakens, strength draining.

I smile, watching Noah grow powerless.

“I’ll save you!” Wabid declares, spreading his hands.

“Lightning Square!”

“Pointless.”

I felt a twinge of fear seeing the intense current from Wabid’s hands. But it just grazes by, missing me entirely.

“Ahh.”

I get it now.

“You cast magic recklessly, not caring if it hits, huh?”

“…How…?”

“You can’t interfere with me. I’ve got double safeguards. Even if you stop thinking, deep down you know—you can’t use magic unless my safety’s guaranteed.”

Noah suddenly shouts.

“Isti! That’s your name, right? Help me! Don’t let this guy have his way. That’s not love! True devotion is helping someone who’s lost their way.”

To Isti, behind me.

“Darling dosen’t need my help. But you do…”

“Isti!”

Isti ignores Noah’s desperate plea and leaves.

“Noah, help close the secret room?”

“Ah…!”

Noah can’t resist. Following my order, Noah operates the secret switch.

The secret room feels just right—not too big, not too small. The dungeon’s basement vibe is nice. An undisturbed space is key. Less noise, better.

But I kept Wabid around on purpose. An audience makes it more fun. Not directly harmful, but not irrelevant either.

“Even if Isti didn’t help, you messed up. Isti hates strangers calling her name. Actually, she hates it being known at all. Expecting intimacy from knowing her name? Too naive.”

“You got the elf’s name through hypnosis, didn’t you?”

“Correct. So why’d I tell you her name?”

“…”

They both go silent.

“One of you’s gonna forget anyway. The other? We’re gonna get close.”

“Close? You and me? Never, not in a million years. You might control my mind, but this is my true heart.”

“‘My true heart can’t be tainted.’ So romantic!” I thought Noah was just a cold examiner, but there’s a womanly side too?

“Wanna bet?”

“Bet?”

“Without directly influencing your heart, I’ll get close to you and leave this room. If I can’t change your heart, I’ll let you go.”

“You wouldn’t risk your safety like that. Letting us go means erasing our memories, like you did with that red-haired girl.”

“Exactly. Worth a shot, right? I forget you, you escape a nightmare.”

“How do I trust you?”

“No need to test me. You already know.”

Noah knows I’m not lying. Knows I’m so ar0used, my c0ck’s about to burst.

“…Yeah, dumb question. Considering the vile things you’ve done to w0men, this fits you perfectly.”

“You despise me, huh? Used to call me Decal, now you won’t even say my name.”

“You think calling someone by name shows closeness, right?”

Veil Noah stays silent, struck to the core.

“To get close, you gotta use names. Will you call me by mine?”

“No way.”

“See? You spoke your mind. That’s fair, right? Just keep that up until we leave this room. You don’t even wanna say my name. That’s the baseline.”

I wait leisurely for Veil Noah’s reply.

Back when the Sin Wolf corpse decided the outcome, Veil Noah held the blade. Not anymore.

Now, I’m the one cornering Veil Noah.

That thrill keeps my smirk in place.

“Promise me.”

“Promise?”

“If I play along with your filthy game and win, you let me and Wabid go without any tricks.”

“I’ll wipe your memories and set a no-contact hint. You might try approaching me again later.”

“No way!”

Wabid yells, his usual calm gone, shoulders shaking with rage, breathing rough.

“Inspector Veil Noah! That’s what he wants. Play this game, and you’ll just get humiliated and tossed aside! Didn’t you see? This guy controls everything in this room. He can erase memories and reset it all! You can’t escape until he’s satisfied!”

“Exactly. That’s why there’s no other way.”

“Ugh…!”

“To face this guy, we’d need a national treasure artifact. According to kingdom records, brainwashing magic makes someone defenseless, like they’re drunk, to spill secrets or obey. It’s called brainwashing for convenience, but it’s not quite that. But this guy’s power… it’s practically godlike.”

I nod, listening to them.

“Hm. I didn’t even know brainwashing magic was a thing. If I had, I’d have figured out your intentions sooner.”

“Exactly!”

Wabid screams, like he’s in agony.

“This guy, treating w0men like toys, and you call him a god?”

“No way. But I trust this game. Right?”

“Yep, Wabid. You don’t get it, but there’s tons of ways to enjoy a game. Since I promised not to touch you and let you go, I’m enjoying this even more.”

“How do I understand a madman’s thoughts?”

I think I explained it clearly, but he calls me crazy. Guess I can’t talk sense with someone raised so upright.

Then again, agreeing with me in this situation would be insane. If there was someone that crazy, we’d be fast friends. Never met one, though.

“Shall we start?”

“Any time limit?”

Veil Noah adds.

“Time limit?”

“Three days and nights. I don’t wanna be stuck here starving under threats.”

Didn’t expect that.

“So you think you can last that long? Oh, wow…”

What a pitiful delusion.

“Problem? Executors are trained to endure torture. I can hold out until my b0dy gives up.”

“How about six hours?”

“Fine. No resets.”

“Too long?”

Three hours would be impressive.

No w0man’s lasted over two hours under “Dizzying Pleasure” hints.

“Don’t joke. You think s9x will make me change my words in a few hours? Even a teenage boy wouldn’t think that. You’ve just been controlling w0men with hypnosis, right?”

“Half right. But I like guiding indirectly. If you can really hold out, I’m willing to let you go.”

“Veil Noah!”

“Wabid, it’ll be fine. Our skills weren’t enough. Just focus on surviving. This guy’s unlikely to spare you, a guy.”

“Ugh… If I weren’t so useless!”

Wabid starts blaming himself.

“Let’s start.”

“Alright. I wanna prove my innocence to both inspectors.”

“Innocence? Oh, that’s the game’s theme? How you proving it? Gonna make w0men say they’re into you?”

“Yep.”

Can’t see her eyes through the blindfold, but the vibe’s icy.

“Seems like I’ve got some charm w0men can’t resist.”

“…”

“…”

Not funny?

The secret room’s dead quiet, not even a breath.

“If Veil Noah confirms it herself, doesn’t that prove my innocence? That w0men fall hard for me?”

“…Ugh. Fine. So, I strip? You asked for cooperation, so I’ll cooperate.”

“Come closer.”

Veil Noah steps forward, one by one.

She acts like she’s rushing, but deep down, she’s probably scared.

Her steps ooze unease.

“Don’t tense up. How about a hug first? Like lovers, all sweet.”

“…Fine.”

Veil Noah grumbles, clearly reluctant, and falls into my arms.

Oh, d*mn. Even through her nun cl0thes, imagining her b0dy’s easy, but feeling it? Pure thrill.

She’s got a figure like Isti’s, all curves. Shame it’s all covered. Or maybe that’s what makes it hot?

Veil Noah stays stiff as a rock in my arms. I hold her tight, lingering.

Thinks she can stall like this?

Suddenly, Veil Noah’s b0dy reacts.

“Ugh…!”

“What’s up?”

She squirms, so I tighten my grip, pulling her close.

“Hah!”

A cute little m0an slips from Veil Noah’s m0uth.
