Chapter 37: Nonsense V (part 2)

I raised my head. Before my eyes was a gigantic castle, twice as large and three times as grand as the original castle of the Duchy of Estel.

The grandeur of Castana Marquis was undeniable.

‘I feel sick already…’ I thought.

Seeing firsthand how well the hostile families we didn’t get along with were prospering made my stomach churn. While the Duke of Estel still used the original castle built a thousand years ago, the Marquis of Castana seemed to have remodeled their castle with their overflowing money.

‘They’ve carved a defense formation on the castle gate. In addition, the castle gates were coated with magic metal?’ I thought.

I could assure you that the money spent on the castle gates by the Marquis of Castana could completely rebuild the original Castle of Estel. I knew well that the difference in wealth between the two families was enormous, but I never imagined the gap would be this great.

I smiled bitterly and fidgeted with the bracelet in my pocket. With so much money rotting and overflowing, it was no wonder Bianca had handed it over casually as a gift.

But then it happened.

Graaaa-ek-eeek!

The castle gate of the Marquis of Castana slowly opened with a dull sound. Behind the castle gate, countless servants stood quietly on either side of the path. As soon as the gates opened, they all bowed their heads to me.

“We greet the Heir to Estel!”

“…..”

I involuntarily stiffened at the greetings of the perfectly ordered attendants, as if they had practiced several times. I never imagined the Marquess of Castana would treat me with such hospitality, no matter how nominal the engagement was. Was Bianca really out of her mind?

But it didn’t end there.

At the far end, where servants stood on both sides, I saw a beautiful woman in a gorgeous sunset-colored dress with tears in her eyes. The red-haired and red-eyed woman, with a sunset-colored dress that accentuated her figure, matched the scene perfectly. She was so beautiful that I wondered if the word flower was made for her.

“Cain!”

Bianca, dressed in a sunset-colored dress, ran lightly toward me.

Even though it had only been two weeks since we parted, Bianca’s expression of affection was beyond words. Her expression was pitiful enough to make one think that if someone who knew nothing about this scene saw it, they would believe it was like a wife witnessing her husband, said to have died in battle, suddenly return alive one day.

Even I, who knew very well that this girl was a cunning woman, was momentarily downcast.

“…Cain, I missed you. Really.”

Saying that, Bianca snuggled into my arms. Her body seemed to emanate a subtle scent like sweet fruit.

It was truly terrifying!

For a moment, I thought this woman was lovely.

At that moment, I noticed a small strand of hair sticking to her cheek. I raised my hand as if possessed and carefully pulled the hair from Bianca’s cheek. As my fingers touched her cheek, Bianca smiled softly at me. Our eyes met, and I could see her red eyes trembling slightly.

Gulp…

Unknowingly, I swallowed. This was dangerous. If it went on like this, it might not be an imitation of an engagement but might cross the line. Bianca now had that much charm.

Srraak!

I heard the rustling of clothes as Bianca snuggled further into my arms. Her voluptuous mounds touched my whole body. It was too much to call it acting.

I felt my hands shaking.

Bianca looked at me and smiled softly.

It was absolutely impossible now. My reason was gradually slipping away.

“…Young Lord? Are you okay?”

Yes, if it wasn’t for the voice of a girl calling me as she got off the carriage.

At Aria’s voice, my mind, which had been confused, returned to my senses.

“…ah.”

The spell was broken. I instinctively took a step back from Bianca. If I continued to be next to her, I might cause an accident in front of so many people.

“…ha.”

The moment I stepped away, Bianca’s expression turned ferocious beyond words.

‘…this is crazy.’

When I saw her ferocious face, I unknowingly shrank.

“What the hell…”

Bianca looked at Aria from the carriage with genuine annoyance.

Just like that, their eyes met.

“…!”

Bianca’s eyes widened when she saw Aria’s face. As if she saw something she shouldn’t have, her eyes shook violently. Then, a cold light began to shine in her pupils. Though weak, I felt some energy leaking out of her body. Perhaps, due to the sudden change in emotions, she momentarily couldn’t control her energy.

I realized instinctively. This was dangerous, really.

“Bianca!”

I unconsciously approached Bianca and hugged her, thinking that no matter how insane she was, she wouldn’t push me, her nominal fiance, in front of so many eyes.

“…ah, Cain.”

Fortunately, Bianca didn’t push me away or get angry at my sudden action. She quietly stayed in my arms, as if that was all she wanted from the beginning.

“…..”

Looking at Bianca, I closed my eyes tightly.

I didn’t feel it wrong.

The energy that leaked out of Bianca just now was certainly…

It was certainly a bad sign.
