Another year end, and another one has started.
It would be easy for me to just say “Happy New Year!” and be done with it…but these days I started to feel this strange urge to talk more, maybe because I don’t quite do it anymore. Well, this is not exactly “talking”, more like writing, but it manages to express my thoughts all the same. So, you can stop at the “Happy New Year!” and move on if you want. The following are more for me than anyone else.
Honestly speaking, I don’t feel that comfortable saying “Happy New Year!”, considering the current state of the world. But, I also feel that I have to say it because it also contains a sense of hope. Like a wish for a better future. Yes, for some of us, the past few years might have been full of suffering, and yes…it doesn’t seem like things could get better during the current year either. But, who knows, it might just get better. You always have to have hope.
Lately, I have gotten myself in the habit of saying, “It can always be worse” and I try to think of the positive side of things to balance out the negatives. This “Happy New Year!” is one of those positives.
