“Thank you, Kim-kun.”
At some point, while Hyunjin was on duty in the morning with Ohana, she subtly thanked him.
“You don’t need to.”
“Still, I am grateful that you come out every morning to help me.”
“Is that so?”
Perhaps it was because he was training in the morning and had run from the Lionheart Mansion—Hyunjin was sweating.
As he was about to use his sleeves to wipe the sweat from his forehead, Ohana approached him and handed him something.
“Um, this… It’s a handkerchief.”
“Ah, thank you, Kamiyama.”
As Hyunjin wiped his sweat with the handkerchief she had handed over, Ohana intertwined her index fingers nervously and made a puzzled expression.
“I will wash the handkerchief and return it to you.”
“Huh? Ah, yes…”
Ohana seemed embarrassed by the situation.
‘What was there to be ashamed of?’
“What? Why are you shy?”
“That, that… All buttons…”
“A button?”
“Front… because it’s undone…”
‘Huh? When had the button come undone?’
“Ah, thank you, Kamiyama. I didn’t even notice it had come undone since I ran earlier.”
“Running? It’s not a bike like last time…?”
“Yeah, I just ran today.”
“The distance to the academy—isn’t it far?”
“It’s a long way, but sometimes I just run for the sake of exercise.”
Upon hearing his words, Ohana clapped her hands together.
“Wow… Taking care of yourself must be hard, isn’t it?”
“Well, it’s natural. If it’s okay with you, would you like to work out with me, Kamiyama?”
“Eh? But Kim-kun, wouldn’t that be a bother…”
“It’s just a matter of me coming out earlier.”
Ohana hesitated for a moment, then nodded.
“Yes, I’ll give it a try!”
“Then I’ll pick you up early every morning.”
“Huh? Oh, yes.”
“You can meet me at the alley where we ran into each other last time.”
“Yes… Thank you for being considerate, Kim-kun.”
“It doesn’t even count as consideration.”
Hyunjin had finally realized that to survive in the school, it was crucial to build connections with people. By getting to know Ohana, he thought that he might have the chance to talk about cooking. He needed to learn more about Japanese cuisine.
‘Yes, I don’t want to eat that kind of food again.’
Amelia’s cooking suddenly flashed before his eyes. It was like a hallucination.
‘If anyone had eaten such a dish, they would feel the same way as I did.’
“What’s wrong, Kim-kun? You look troubled…”
“Oh, no, not really. Let’s finish this up quickly—it’s almost time for the other cadets to arrive.”
With that, Hyunjin wrapped up the task alongside Ohana.

‘As expected, high school classes are tough.’
It wasn’t that Hyunjin couldn’t keep up, but there were just too many things to process.
Japanese history, in particular, wasn’t sticking in his head.
‘What should I do?’
Hyunjin needed to study, but with his current abilities, he was becoming a burden to the Lionheart family.
Something felt off about learning directly from Amelia. He didn’t doubt her skills, but if she realized he had been pretending all along, she would undoubtedly be disappointed.
Amelia would be disheartened if he failed something like a written test. It would be better to prepare thoroughly in advance.
‘I need to learn how to study—and find a good teacher if possible.’
But who could he ask?
While listening to class, Hyunjin wracked his brain.
Ryuunosuke wasn’t the studious type, so that was out of the question. Sojuro was no better. If he relied on those guys, he might as well study on his own.
Rachel? No. Rachel was Amelia’s servant, so there was a high chance she would report his struggles to her.
‘If it were Ryuunosuke, what kind of event would he be caught up in right now?’
Even if Hyunjin remembered the characters from the original story, she didn’t recall all the detailed episodes.
If he could remember everything, he wouldn’t need help. He could just memorize what he needed.
‘Hmm.’
In the current situation, the only person Hyunjin could trust was Ohana.
‘Should I ask her after class?’
***
After class, Hyunjin quietly approached Ohana.
“Kamiyama, could you step out for a moment?”
“Oh, uh… sure, Kim-kun.”
As Ohana and Hyunjin stepped outside, whispers followed them.
“Look, Kim-kun and Kamiyama-san… Is something happening between them?”
“Kyaa! Is he going to confess?”
“How lucky… I wish Kim-kun liked me!”
Hyunjin didn’t want to hear any of that.
Above all, it was disrespectful to Ohana.
While his favorite was Amelia, that didn’t mean he disliked the other girls.
Some people just couldn’t keep their thoughts to themselves.
“It’s not like that, so please don’t misunderstand.”
Hyunjin stepped outside with Ohana, leaving the murmurs behind.
