Chapter 11: Do You Want to Eat at My House (part 1)

After school, I decided to meet up with Ohana, so I headed toward the school gate.

However, it was a little noisy outside.

“What happened?”

The sound of a motorcycle was loud, much clearer than usual.

“Why is it that I can only hear so well when it’s unnecessary?” I thought, wishing people would speak louder when talking to other heroines.

Still, it had nothing to do with me. With that thought, I approached the school gate and leaned against the wall next to it, waiting for Ohana.

“This is the last school, bro. From the results so far, this is the only one left,” someone said loudly, swinging a wooden stick.

A loud *boom* followed, along with the sound of it slicing through the air.

When I looked closely, it seemed the speaker was a bully from another school. His face looked familiar. Weren’t they the same bullies that came to harass Amelia four months ago in the park when I first met her?

As I listened, their conversation became clearer. It seemed they had been searching for someone for a month. This time, they had brought along a bigger guy.

Outside the school gate, they were grabbing students by the collar and inspecting their faces.

“This is bothersome,” I thought.

I decided it was best to ignore them. If I paid no attention, they might give up and leave. Just as I resolved to stay away, a loud voice interrupted my thoughts.

“Brother, come to think of it, that guy… He seemed to act tough in front of women.”

“Is that so? Yeah, what kind of girl would you like? Which b*tch should I grab to make him jump out?”

“Wouldn’t he show up if I caught someone?”

The bullies’ disgusting conversation was loud and clear. Their words were vile, yet oddly detailed, like commentary. I decided to leave, thinking they would eventually give up if they couldn’t find their target.

Just as I turned to walk away, a scream pierced the air.

“What about that girl?”

“Oh, she’s perfect! Grab her!”

“Hey! Come here quietly!”

“Don’t do this…!!”

I froze. A sinking feeling settled in my stomach as I turned my head. Sure enough, my worst fear was realized.

“Why is it that my ears only function perfectly in moments like this?”

The bullies had chosen Ohana.

One of them grabbed her wrist, laughing wickedly.

“Hey, look closely. She’s pretty, bro! Let’s have some fun, hehehe!”

“I don’t want this! Let me go…!! Help me, someone…!!”

As Ohana’s tears began to fall, she could no longer hold back. She clenched her fists and walked toward them.

“Let her go.”

“Hey, who the hell are you? Acting tough, huh?”

The biggest bully turned to glare at me. The smaller bully beside him, who had been beaten in the park, paled and stammered, “B-Brother! It’s him!! The guy you asked about before! That’s definitely him!”

“Is that so? Interesting,” the leader said with a smirk, pointing his wooden stick at her.

“Give me your name, you b*stard!”

“This is so bothersome…” I muttered.

I had no desire to deal with them. My life was already busy enough without unnecessary trouble like them. However, this situation involved Ohana. They had disrupted my schedule, and that was unforgivable.

“You’re cheeky, you b*stard!!”

The leader raised his wooden stick, aiming to strike my shoulder. I responded with ease, knocking the stick aside with a light motion of my hand.

Although he had swung it with all his strength, it didn’t faze me. Even if it had been a steel pipe, it wouldn’t have made much difference unless it was a blade.

I exhaled softly and straightened my posture.

The world I now lived in was supposed to be a love comedy, but reality demanded more. Ed had once told me that an elite butler must master martial arts.

During my three months as a butler, I had rigorously trained in basic martial arts and the handling of long weapons. Loyalty and righteousness weren’t enough; true strength was necessary to protect the ones I cared for.

I had endured grueling practice, all for moments like this.

So now, no matter how many bullies appeared, I had the confidence to handle them.

“Are we done here?” I asked the leader with a smile.

“You son of a b*tch!! Don’t underestimate Evil Heart!!”  (G: really? What a name.)

At my taunt, the other bullies rushed at me.
