Chapter 117: Gathering of the Immortal Ascensions

The former master of the Yin-Yang Sect had suddenly appeared here, leaving everyone utterly speechless in shock. After all, legend had it that he had passed away nearly a thousand years ago.

“Old man, what are you trying to do?”

The former sect master of the Yin-Yang Sect had a head full of silver hair and looked rather listless, as if he hadn’t eaten in days. However, his eyes were incredibly deep and piercing. Though there was no trace of divine power emanating from his body, he still made Zi Ying feel a great sense of danger.

“I want him.”

He spoke calmly, looking toward Tian Fan who stood beside Zi Ying.

“You deviant!!!”

If possible, Tian Fan really wanted to rush up and punch him.

Zi Ying stood frozen, utterly stunned.

Even the many cultivators in the distance stared unblinkingly at Tian Fan. No one had expected such words to come from this ancient fossil.

“Oh, my apologies. What I meant is, I want the thing inside him.”

That calm voice from the old Yin-Yang Sect master made Tian Fan’s heart sink. He knew that once the Ancient Divine Script appeared, it would bring endless trouble. And now, even an old monster from the Immortal Ascension Realm had been drawn out. Things had gotten out of hand. Zi Ying was strong, but not strong enough to go up against someone from the Immortal Ascension Realm.

“No way. I won’t give him to you.”

Zi Ying rejected him firmly, her bright eyes shining as she looked at Tian Fan, which made him deeply touched. But her next words left him completely speechless.

“First come, first served. I saw him first. He’s mine, and I’m not giving him to you!” (G: best wifu.)

“So, what you’re saying is… I’ll have to take him by force?”

The silver-haired elder stepped forward lightly, and the two of them instinctively retreated in shock. The current Yin-Yang Sect master stood behind him, eyes cold as ice. With such a legendary figure present, no one dared to interfere.

“You… You’re a senior from the Immortal Ascension Realm. How could you act like this?”

Zi Ying huffed angrily.

“And why couldn’t I? Hmph. He killed dozens of outstanding disciples of my Yin-Yang Sect. As the former sect master, am I wrong to punish him?”

The silver-haired elder replied coolly.

“Yes, Master! You absolutely must not let him go. Dozens of our sect’s disciples died at his hands! Even your disciple’s child—your own grand-disciple—was killed by him. He must die!”

The current Yin-Yang Sect master’s eyes gleamed with malice as his words turned icy cold.

“Hmph! You old geezer! Your disciples all deserved what they got. It had nothing to do with little Tian Tian. You’re just a cranky old man, and you’re making me furious!”

Zi Ying waved her fists at the old sect master, looking like she was ready to storm forward and punch him.

“Hmph! Deserved it? The matters of the Yin-Yang Sect are not for you to judge. He must die today. He’s unworthy of possessing that thing!”

The silver-haired elder’s face turned cold instantly—his mood shifting without warning. At the same time, his right hand reached forward, grabbing straight toward Tian Fan.

Both Tian Fan and Zi Ying were suppressed so heavily that they couldn’t move at all.

Boom!

Just when everyone thought Tian Fan was surely doomed, a pitch-black beam of light shot in from the distant sky and directly blasted the old Yin-Yang Sect master’s hand aside.

The scene stunned everyone.

Someone had actually managed to deflect an attack from a Immortal Ascension Realm expert—who could this person be?!

“Heh heh, Yue Buqun, this one’s mine.”

From afar, a tiny black speck flashed and instantly appeared at the center of the scene, standing ten zhang behind Tian Fan.

The newcomer was completely shrouded in black mist, making it impossible to see his face. Only a pair of green-glowing eyes could be vaguely made out.

The cultivators in the distance felt their hair stand on end and broke out in cold sweat the moment they saw those eyes. Within them, they saw the collapse of the heavens and the earth, and the destruction of all living beings. The sheer terror made them feel drained, as if their very essence was being siphoned away.

“It’s you… Ghost Immortal. You’re still alive!”

The silver-haired elder’s voice held surprise as he looked at the figure shrouded in black mist.

“What? The Ghost Immortal?!”

“It’s really him? How can that be?!”

Everyone exchanged looks of disbelief.

The name “Ghost Immortal” was famous across the Divine Martial Continent. No one knew when he had stepped into the Immortal Ascension Realm, and no one knew what he really looked like. In fact, they didn’t even know if he was male or female.

People only knew that every time the Ghost Immortal appeared, he was covered in black mist, hiding his face completely. No one could see through it. His methods were ruthless, cultivating a sinister ghost path—one of the most poisonous and dangerous dark arts out there. Even some of the sacred lands were wary of him.

“Heh heh… As long as you’re alive, why would I be dead?”

The Ghost Immortal’s raspy voice echoed, his green-glowing eyes flickering with a terrifying light that shook the soul. It was as if he could scatter a person’s very spirit and soul.

“Cut the nonsense! Why aren’t you lying in your coffin? What are you doing here today?” the silver-haired elder snapped coldly, clearly holding deep contempt for this person.

“Heh heh… Whatever you came for, I came for the same.”

“You’re trying to snatch that thing from me?!” His gaze turned icy cold, shooting out twin beams of divine light.

“That’s exactly right.”

The two spoke one line after another, neither giving an inch. The tension in the air grew thick, and a faint pressure began to mount. Two opposing auras clashed silently, and tiny arcs of lightning crackled in the sky.

“Are you trying to start a Immortal Ascension War? Do you want to bring ruin to all living beings?” the silver-haired elder said coldly, glaring at the Ghost Immortal.

“Heh, you old b*stard, you’re the most hypocritical of all. If you truly cared about all living beings, then just back out! Why are you still fighting with me over it?” the Ghost Immortal said with disdain, his voice hoarse.

“Hmph, I was the first to arrive. Why should I be the one to withdraw?”

“Heh, that little girl saw it first. How about none of us take it? Let’s all back out instead!”

“Sure, sure!”

As soon as the Ghost Immortal said that, Zi Ying immediately cheered, clapping her hands and shouting excitedly, leaving Tian Fan completely exasperated. This girl seriously had no sense of the situation at all.

“Hmph, no way. I must have it. If you want to fight me for it, then face the sword in my hand!”

The silver-haired elder spoke coldly, raising one hand lightly.

A magnificent divine sword appeared in his grip. It trembled slightly, as if cheering. The yin and yang energies flowing on its blade became even smoother, like it had finally found its true master. With the sword in hand, the silver-haired elder’s presence instantly turned razor-sharp, his aura overwhelming.

“Heh, others might fear that broken sword of yours, but I don’t. If you want a fight, I’ll give you one. Let’s shatter the heavens and rend the earth.”

The Ghost Immortal replied sinisterly. Above his head, a pitch-black skull materialized. The temperature of the world plummeted, as if everyone had been thrown into the depths of an abyss. Two eerie green flames flickered inside the skull’s eye sockets, emitting a terrifying aura.

Pop…

Though neither had made a move yet, just their standoff was chilling enough. One after another, black vortexes appeared in the sky. These vortexes seemed capable of erasing all existence. The spiritual energy in the surrounding space was being completely devoured.

“Heavens, run!”

“The Immortal Ascension battle has begun—run or die!”

Panic swept through the crowd. No one dared linger anymore. They all fled into the distance as fast as they could. Even the Sect Master of the Yin Yang Sect backed off. A battle at the level of Immortal Ascension was no joke—just look at the Northern Wilderness, which had been pounded into the ground.

“It’s been a long time since I came out for a walk. Would you two kindly stop?”

A calm voice rang out. Between the two opposing forces, an elderly man with a head of white hair appeared. He was dressed in simple black robes, plain to the point of blending into the crowd.

But the moment he appeared, the overwhelming auras of the former Yin Yang Sect Master and the Ghost Immortal were instantly neutralized.

“Who are you?” The former Sect Master asked cautiously, eyeing the old man.

“Heh, just a man about to die,” the white-haired elder replied calmly.

“You’re here for that thing too!?” The Ghost Immortal stared at him warily.

“Take it? No. I merely wish to study it. There’s no need for fighting. The three of us can examine it together. Wouldn’t that be better?” the old man in black said evenly, his gaze shifting over, making Tian Fan’s hair stand on end.

“Heh heh, that’s right. As long as we kill that brat, the thing inside him will become ownerless. Then… heh heh…” The Ghost Immortal’s words were filled with malice as the three of them began to encircle Tian Fan and Zi Ying.

“Zi Ying, run! Don’t worry about me!”

Tian Fan hurriedly pulled Zi Ying behind him, urging her to escape. These three were at the Immortal Ascension level—no one could stop them.

“No, I’m not leaving! You three old fogeys, you really want to make a move!?” Zi Ying said stubbornly, stepping forward again.

“All the great secrets of immortality and divinity are within him. A mere junior like him isn’t qualified to hold them. Only people like us are capable,” the former Yin Yang Sect Master said coldly.

“Hmph! Aren’t you afraid of starting a Immortal Ascension war!?” Zi Ying retorted angrily.

“Heh heh, little girl, you are strong—just one step away from entering the Immortal Ascension realm—but you haven’t crossed that threshold yet. You can’t stop us, let alone fight us,” the Ghost Immortal sneered, his green-glowing eyes chilling. His words shocked Tian Fan. He hadn’t expected this seemingly silly girl to have already reached the peak of the Primordial Unity realm—just one step from Immortal Ascension. Such talent was incredible. No wonder the Shangguan Clan treasured her so much, not willing to let her suffer even a bit of harm.

“Zi Ying, go! Don’t worry about me!” As the three elders closed in, Tian Fan yanked Zi Ying behind him again, panic growing in his voice. These three were definitely beyond what Zi Ying could handle.

“D*mn it!”

Zi Ying growled, yanking the jade pendant from her chest and clutching it tightly. Purple divine power surged in her hand. In an instant, the pendant erupted in a dazzling divine light. Mysterious runes appeared, and a golden gate of time and space emerged before her. The world dimmed as waves of pressure poured out from the gate.

A majestic voice echoed from within…

“Who dares touch my precious daughter!?”

The thunderous voice seemed to transcend time and space, reverberating through the heavens and earth.

A white figure stepped out of the gate in an instant, overwhelming pressure emanating from him continuously.

At this moment, he was the heavens, he was the earth!

The expressions of the three old men changed on the spot—stunned beyond words…
