Chapter 149: The Purple-Gold Enchanting Eyes

The term “Purple-Gold Enchanting Eyes” was something I had heard before when Mei’er first saw me, but I hadn’t paid much attention to it. Now that she brought it up again, I instinctively reached into a drawer, pulled out a mirror, and took a look.

“My eyes don’t seem any different from usual.” They were still the same as before—no abnormalities whatsoever. I suspected Mei’er had simply made a mistake.

Shaking her head, Mei’er insisted, “I’m absolutely certain. The moment I walked into the room, I saw them—those eyes, the ones that only the royal members of our fox clan possess—the Purple-Gold Enchanting Eyes!”

Hearing how sure she was, my curiosity deepened. “What exactly are the Purple-Gold Enchanting Eyes?”

“Enchanting Eyes are a unique trait of our fox clan. The so-called fox enchantment technique is cast through them. Simply put, it’s a talent-based spiritual technique.” Mei’er patiently explained, “Most members of our clan have brown or black eyes, but only the royal bloodline possesses golden eyes. Their enchantment abilities are multiple times—sometimes even dozens of times—stronger than ordinary fox clansmen.”

“If that’s the case, then the Purple-Gold Enchanting Eyes should be exclusive to your fox clan. But I’m human—there’s no way I could have such an ability, right?” I looked at Mei’er in confusion. As a human, I shouldn’t possess any of the fox clan’s traits. She must have been mistaken.

Mei’er let out a sigh, sounding somewhat helpless. “At first, I thought I was wrong too. But after some careful consideration, there is one possibility—one reason why you might have our fox clan’s Enchanting Eyes.”

“And what would that be?” My heart tensed up. I was afraid Mei’er would say something terrifying.

Looking at me, she said lightly, “Do you remember how I once transferred my blood into your body to save you?”

“Of course!” I nodded. How could I forget? Wait… Suddenly, something clicked in my mind.

I turned to Mei’er, asking tentatively, “Are you saying that your blood merged with mine, transforming it into the royal bloodline of your fox clan?!”

“That’s right!” Mei’er nodded. “At first, I didn’t think much of it. But looking back, ever since I saved you with my celestial fox bloodline, Xia Tian, you’ve changed significantly—both in temperament and appearance, gradually approaching perfection.”

I hadn’t really noticed it before, but hearing Mei’er say this made me reflect on the details of my past. I realized that I had indeed changed a lot.

Temperament was something I couldn’t see, so I couldn’t judge it. But my appearance? That had changed drastically. Before, I was at most considered handsome in a delicate way. But after Mei’er saved me, I had unknowingly become more and more attractive—until I was, without a doubt, a strikingly good-looking man.

Swallowing hard, I looked at Mei’er and asked with difficulty, “So… am I human or a demon now?” Becoming more handsome was great, but if it meant my entire race had changed, that would be a serious issue.

“Xia Tian, you’re obviously still human!” Mei’er laughed. Hearing that, I finally relaxed.

Seeing that I remained silent, she continued explaining, “Our fox clan, after cultivating, is neither celestial nor demonic—we exist between Yin and Yang. However, our innate energy is fundamentally Yin in nature. You, on the other hand, possess an intense Yang Qi, which is fundamentally different from our fox clan.”

“Then what’s the deal with the Purple-Gold Enchanting Eyes?” I was even more confused now. If I was still human, then why did I have the Enchanting Eyes of a fox royal?

“When I saved you with my blood, I only intended to use its healing properties. Normally, human blood and our fox clan’s blood are completely incompatible. But for some reason, your body accepted it seamlessly, allowing it to merge with you completely,” Mei’er said, as if she herself found it unbelievable.

I remained silent, choosing to simply listen.

“Xia Tian, you might be the first special case in the history of the cultivation world. I have no idea what caused this,” Mei’er admitted with a shake of her head. “I myself am a Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox, a royal of the fox clan. But because my bloodline is sealed, I can’t use the Purple-Gold Enchanting Eyes. Yet, after inheriting my diluted bloodline, you somehow awakened the royal trait and even activated those eyes by sheer accident. It’s truly incredible…”

“Well, what can I say? I guess I was just born extraordinary.” I waved my hand humbly.

Unexpectedly, Mei’er continued, “I think the word ‘oddity’ that you humans use describes you quite well.”

What the hell?! Mei’er, my dear Mei’er, do you even know what ‘oddity’ means?!

“So, according to what you’re saying, I really do have the Purple-Gold Enchanting Eyes. But why aren’t they visible now?” I asked, puzzled.

Mei’er chuckled. “The Enchanting Eyes may be a natural ability of our fox clan, but they still require a specific method to activate. You just need to…”

Following Mei’er’s instructions, I concentrated my spiritual power into my eyes. As my mental energy surged, I suddenly felt an intense headache, as if memories I had never seen before were pouring into my mind.

A fragment appeared—

In a thick black mist, two blood-red eyes stared at me intensely. Standing before that darkness, I felt utterly powerless, my heart gripped by an overwhelming fear.

That fear was so intense, it seemed to make my very soul tremble.

Then, in an instant, the black mist and those blood-red eyes vanished. I was back in reality.

My forehead was covered in cold sweat. What the hell were those eyes and that black mist? Was it just an illusion? But why did it feel so real, as if I had actually seen them before?

It must have been a hallucination from activating the Purple-Gold Enchanting Eyes for the first time. I took a deep breath and dismissed the thought.

I hurriedly grabbed the mirror to take a look—

Holy shit! The moment I saw my reflection, I nearly pissed myself! Were these even human eyes?!

My irises, except for the pupils and the immediate surrounding area, had turned completely golden. And my pupils—while not entirely slit-shaped—had become slightly elongated, resembling those of a fox.

So… these were the Purple-Gold Enchanting Eyes?

But… why didn’t I feel any different? It seemed like only the color of my eyes had changed.

“As expected! The Purple-Gold Enchanting Eyes!” Even though Mei’er had already confirmed my transformation, she still gasped in amazement upon seeing my appearance.

Taking a deep breath, I looked at Mei’er seriously. “Alright, now tell me how to use the Purple-Gold Enchanting Eyes to erase Sister Lin and Wang Ziyan’s memories.”

Right now, the most urgent matter was erasing their memories of seeing Mei’er’s true form. If they woke up and remembered everything, that would be a disaster.

“Xia Tian, all you have to do is look into Sister Mengxin’s and your fiancée’s eyes with the Purple-Gold Enchanting Eyes, then silently focus on erasing the specific time period from their memories.”

“That easy?” I was stunned. The Purple-Gold Enchanting Eyes were supposed to be a powerful royal ability—could it really be so simple to use?

Mei’er gave me a helpless smile. “Yes, it’s that simple!”

Damn! What kind of joke was this?! A name as grand as “Purple-Gold Enchanting Eyes,” and it’s used like this? Screenwriter, are you sure you didn’t mess up the script?!
