I hadn’t flown very high just now, otherwise I wouldn’t have crashed into the utility pole. Still, falling from that height wouldn’t feel good. It would be pretty tragic to end up in the hospital right after learning how to fly.
Just as I was thinking this, I suddenly felt someone catch me.
Feeling the soft cushion against me, there was no need to guess—it had to be Mei’er.
“Xia Tian, are you okay?” I opened my eyes and saw Mei’er’s face full of concern.
I buried my head deeper and snuggled hard between Mei’er’s chest, pretending to be in pain as I said, “No, my head feels so dizzy…”
So good! This was the life a man should enjoy! Way softer than any pillow.
“Then you should rest for a bit, Xia Tian…” Mei’er said softly, completely unaware that I was just taking advantage of her.
Ten minutes later…
“Xia Tian, are you feeling any better?” Mei’er asked again.
I was still enjoying the softness when I heard Mei’er’s voice. I quickly pretended to be weak and said, “No, still really dizzy…”
“Really?” Mei’er let out a questioning sound, and then I suddenly felt myself being thrown down, landing right on the floor.
Damn! That was direct!
“You lied to Mei’er! You were grabbing so tightly, you don’t look injured at all!” Mei’er said with a red face, sounding a bit angry.
When did Mei’er get so smart? Sigh… It was my own fault for being handsy. If I hadn’t copped a feel, I probably could’ve stayed there a bit longer.
I got up from the floor, letting out a couple of dry laughs. “Uh, well, the weather’s pretty nice today, huh!”
“You’ve already grasped the method of flying. Just practice a few more times, and you’ll be flying smoothly,” Mei’er said, her face still red and her head lowered.
I smiled and said, “No big deal. Let’s head back…”
Saying that, I grabbed Mei’er’s hand and started walking back toward the apartment.
Of course, on the way back, I couldn’t help but sneak a few more touches. After all, once we got back to the apartment and were surrounded by the other girls, I wouldn’t have any chance to make a move.
Earlier, Mei’er wasn’t angry because I took advantage of her, but because I lied and made her worry.
My Mei’er really is such a good girl!
When we got back to the apartment, Sister Lin and Xu Xin were watching TV.
Seeing us come back together, Sister Lin had a mischievous smile on her face. “You two are coming back this late—did you sneak off to a love hotel?”
“N-no…” Mei’er panicked, looking like she’d been caught.
Sister Lin burst out laughing at Mei’er’s flustered look. “Still saying no? Look how nervous you are!”
Xu Xin glanced at me, her expression a bit awkward, like I had wronged her somehow.
Mei’er blushed and lowered her head. “Sister Mengxin, don’t tease me…”
“From the look of it, you two really did go to a love hotel, huh?” Sister Lin said with exaggerated surprise.
I gave Sister Lin an annoyed look. “Play with your own sister, not me!”
“Mei’er is my little sister. You finally admitted it!” Sister Lin said with a look like she had caught me red-handed.
I snorted. “If I had really done that kind of thing, do you think I’d be back this early? You’re underestimating my stamina!”
Hearing my words, Xu Xin’s frown slowly eased.
“You? Stamina?” Sister Lin clutched her stomach and laughed out loud.
Hey! Sister Lin was really pushing it!
“Don’t believe me? How about we give it a try?” I said, walking playfully toward Sister Lin.
Seeing my approach, Sister Lin quickly turned her gaze back to the TV. “No time to mess around with you. I’m watching TV!”
Seeing her back down, I didn’t keep bluffing.
Besides, my first time was already reserved for Mei’er. I couldn’t just be flirting around randomly. But suddenly, I realized that ever since starting college, I hadn’t really talked to many other girls.
The only new friends I made were Tang Shuyao and Qin Mengdie. Looks like my social circle was really small.
Now that Qin Mengdie had returned to the Qin family, I didn’t really need to protect her anymore.
Honestly, being her bodyguard was kind of lame. I had to protect her without even being able to reveal my identity.
The way these big families did things was really not my style—but whatever, as long as I got paid.
Mei’er, Sister Lin, and the others sat watching TV. I headed back to my room and opened my laptop.
After watching a bit of Stephen Chow’s movies, since it was still early, I opened up the Demon-Slaying Web.
This time, the impact of the website wasn’t as big as before.
After logging in, I clicked into the main page.
It was still the same posts, barely any updates. Looks like even though cultivators were catching up with technology thanks to modern times, not many of them actually used it.
I guessed that Demon-Slaying Web was mainly meant for disciples of cultivation sects to use for their trials.
Those old monsters who had been cultivating for hundreds of years wouldn’t be browsing the web, right?
I browsed around but didn’t find anything interesting, so I closed the site and opened the school forum instead.
Compared to the Demon-Slaying Web, the school forum was way more lively.
The thread about the world-class college exchange event was still pinned at the top, and all the posts below were talking about it.
One post caught my attention.
“Come guess what kind of people will show up at this Freshman Meetup!”
The post title was simple, but there were already a ton of replies.
The news about the college exchange had been out for a week now, and the school had confirmed it, so everyone was guessing who might show up.
Scrolling through the guesses, though…
Damn! What were these people thinking?
Some even hoped for Teacher Cang and Teacher Hodo to show up… Are you kidding me? At this point, calling them university students would be a joke. Saying they were still v!rgins would be even more ridiculous!
If they were really still studying, I bet half of China’s students would work their butts off just to attend the same school as them.
Bunch of old-timers. Guess something more realistic, will ya?
I closed the forum and walked out to the living room. It was about time to make dinner. I threw together a quick meal, and we all ate together.
“Yaoyao already called me. She said she’ll be back soon!” Sister Lin said excitedly.
I helplessly pursed my lips. She just left and now she’s coming back? Might as well have stayed!
Speaking of going back… maybe I really should make a trip home.
The old man definitely knew I was in the capital. If I didn’t visit him after all this time, it would look bad.
I took a sip of water and asked Sister Lin, “Have you guys decided where to go yet?”
“Not yet. We’ll wait for Yaoyao and the others to come back, then figure it out!” Sister Lin said casually.
Alright, you girls win. Guess my Summer Palace trip just got killed off without a second thought!
Later in the afternoon, Tang Shuyao and Qin Mengdie both returned. Qin Mengdie’s return actually surprised me a bit.
“So, where are we going?” I asked Tang Shuyao.
Tang Shuyao froze for a second, then looked at me and said, “Weren’t you guys planning to go to the Summer Palace?”
“Come on, Sis, look at the time. No way we’re going now!” I said, annoyed.
Tang Shuyao nodded. “You’re right… So where should we go?”
“To the beach!” I blurted out immediately. But… Qin Mengdie said it at the exact same time as me?
Had she been planning this too?
Tang Shuyao looked at the two of us with a mischievous smile. “So in sync, huh? I think you two could be a married couple!”
“No way!” Again, we answered in unison. It reminded me of that time when Xu Xin and I were eating together. But this time, it wasn’t just me and Qin Mengdie—Xu Xin, Wang Ziyan, and Mei’er all joined in too.
Was this a five-person unison?
Man, if I ended up with all of them… could we do a 6P… uh, never mind.
