Chapter 176: It Was My Fault for Not Recognizing You

Mei Xue had to follow the hospital team, so she parted ways with us halfway.

“Xia Tian, shouldn’t you go change your clothes?” Sister Lin frowned beside me.

I nodded. “Yeah, I’ll go change.” The smell on my clothes was getting unbearable.

But when I reached into my pocket—Dmn! Where’s my money?! And that bank card with over 500,000?!

No way… Did it fall into the sea?!

“What’s wrong?” Sister Lin asked, puzzled by my panicked expression.

“Uh…” I swallowed hard and sighed. “I think my money fell into the sea!”

“What?!” Sister Lin looked shocked.

Qin Mengdie, standing nearby, handed me a credit card. “Use the money in here for now. You can get a replacement card when we go back. Yao Yao and I can share hers.”

“Thanks! I’ll pay you back!” I took the card and smiled. “I’ll go change and take a quick shower. Wait here—I’ll be right back!” With that, I turned to leave.

“Mei’er will go with you!” Mei’er ran over and grabbed my arm.

Seeing this, Wang Ziyan also rushed over and latched onto my other arm. “I’m coming too!”

Xu Xin, standing to the side, pouted. “Guess I can’t go with you then.”

“Come on, it’s just changing clothes and a quick shower. It won’t take long!” I chuckled helplessly.

Wang Ziyan reluctantly let go. “Fine…”

“But you have to come back fast…” Mei’er released my hand, looking reluctant.

“Definitely. Stay safe while I’m gone!” I waved and headed ashore.

As soon as I reached the shore, a middle-aged man rode up on a motorcycle and called out, “Hey, bro! Want some crab? Freshly caught!”

“No thanks…” I shook my head and kept walking.

After finding a place to shower, I took out a fresh set of clothes from my Storage Ring and changed.

The shower made me feel much lighter. I also brushed my teeth way too many times—even though I knew it was Mei Xue who gave me CPR, the memory of that Tibetan Mastiff nurse still made me shudder.

Once I was done, I headed back toward Sister Lin and the others. Before I even reached them, I heard a heated argument.

“Get lost! If you don’t leave, we’re calling security!”

“Miss, we’re just inviting you to dinner. What’s the big deal?”

“Brother Sun’s right—just a meal, that’s all!”

“Don’t make me hit you!”

“Oho, feisty! I like that!”

Squinting, I saw Wang Ziyan and Sister Lin arguing with two men. The one called “Brother Sun” kept trying to get handsy.

“You scumbags! Get out of here!” Tang Shuyao yelled, hands on her hips.

Brother Sun stroked his thin mustache and smirked. “What if I don’t? You gonna hit me?”

SMACK!

Before he could finish, Sister Lin slapped him across the face and snapped, “You shameless creep!”

“You—you dare hit me?!” Brother Sun roared, lunging at her, but Wang Ziyan blocked him.

“B!tch, get out of my way!” He raised his hand to strike her, but Wang Ziyan, despite only being a Huang-rank martial artist, was far stronger than an average person.

Brother Sun struggled but couldn’t break free. Glaring at her, he snarled, “Let go!”

“Didn’t you hear Brother Sun? Release him!” His lackey stepped forward, pointing aggressively.

Wang Ziyan scoffed and kicked the lackey in the stomach, then flipped Brother Sun over her shoulder, slamming him onto the sand.

“Go, Sister Ziyan!” Tang Shuyao cheered.

Brother Sun scrambled up, face twisted in fury. “You’ll regret this!”

I thought it was just empty threats—until he suddenly flung a handful of sand into Wang Ziyan’s face.

Caught off guard, she gasped as the grit stung her eyes.

“You b!tch!” Brother Sun spat, advancing on her.

Sister Lin tried to stop him, but as an ordinary girl, she was no match. He shoved her to the ground.

“Sister Mengxin!” Mei’er quickly helped her up, then glared at Brother Sun. “Do you have a death wish?!”

“Shut up, brat!” He kicked toward Wang Ziyan—

But I was already there. I caught his ankle mid-air and sneered, “Using cheap tricks on girls? What kind of man are you?!”

Brother Sun struggled, glaring. “Kid, stay out of this!”

“Yeah, unless you wanna get beat up too!” his lackey chimed in.

I smirked and yanked, hurling Brother Sun onto the sand.

Even without True Qi, my physical strength far surpassed normal humans. Plus, after all the martial arts I’d learned from Old Man Long, anyone below Xuan-rank was nothing to me.

Brother Sun groaned, then pointed at me. “You actually dared to hit me?!”

“You’re mistaken…” I grinned, stepping closer. “Now I’m hitting you.”

CRACK!

My foot slammed into his chest. The sound of cracking bone echoed, but I made sure his ribs stayed intact.

“You called Ziyan a b!tch?” I grabbed him by the collar and slapped him.

Before he could react, I struck again. “And Sister Lin—sure, her chest isn’t the biggest, but who gave you the right to push her?!”

“Finally—” I gritted my teeth. “You called Mei’er a brat?!” I kicked him square in the stomach, sending him flying.

“Brother Sun! Brother Sun!” The lackey helped him up and shot me a glare. “You’re dead, kid!”

“Go brush your teeth—your mouth stinks.” I scoffed, then crouched in front of Brother Sun.

He scrambled back, terrified. “W-what do you want?!”

“Just a warning. Next time you harass women, remember—I went easy on you. If their families found out, you’d die ten times over and it still wouldn’t be enough.” My voice turned icy, making him tremble.

I wasn’t exaggerating. If Qin Shousheng or the Tang family patriarch learned their daughters had been insulted and assaulted, Brother Sun wouldn’t live to see another day.

His face paled as realization dawned. Gulping, he bowed frantically. “M-my apologies, ladies! It was my fault for not recognizing you! I’ll leave—right now!” He and his lackey fled like rats.

“Ugh, we came here to relax, but all we’ve met are creeps!” Tang Shuyao grumbled.

I chuckled. “It’s over now.”

“Wow… so beautiful!” Mei’er’s voice rang out. We all turned to look.

The sky burned crimson, as if set aflame—the sunset over the ocean was breathtaking.

“Ah! I can’t see—there’s sand in my eyes! What are you all looking at?!” Wang Ziyan whined.

Hearing that, we exchanged glances and burst out laughing.
