Originally, my wish was to watch the sunset alone. But not only was I not alone—I was surrounded by a group of beautiful women.
“Someone, help me blow it out!” Wang Ziyan said anxiously.
Sister Lin nudged me with her hip. “Go help her!”
“Me?!” I pointed at myself, looking at Sister Lin in confusion.
Sister Lin burst out laughing. “Who else if not you? Hurry up, you little brat!”
Little brat? Damn it! Me, Xia Tian, a man of who-knows-how-many feet tall, actually being called a “little brat” by a girl who couldn’t even restrain a chicken! I could tolerate being insulted, but this was too much!
Just as I was thinking that, my mind flashed back to the time when Gao Shuai sent people to chase and beat Sister Lin and me. Damn it! Sister Lin’s hands definitely had the strength to “restrain a chicken”! Fine, I’ll endure it this time.
“Don’t move, I’ll blow it for you.” I held Wang Ziyan’s head and spoke to her.
Wang Ziyan immediately quieted down.
Huff! I pried her eyelid open with my fingers and blew gently, then asked, “Is it out?”
“N-No!” Wang Ziyan paused before quickly replying.
Huff! I patiently blew again. “It should be out now, right?”
“No!” This time, she answered even faster.
But no matter how hard I looked, there was nothing in her eye except her eyeball. Wasn’t the speck of sand already gone?
I blew again, and before I could even ask, Xu Xin chimed in, “It’s still in there…”
Hearing that, I suddenly understood—this little minx was messing with me! The sand in her eye must have been gone long ago. Since she was being unreasonable, don’t blame me for playing along.
“So… it’s still in there?” I asked softly.
Wang Ziyan nodded. “Yeah, it’s really uncomfortable…”
“Don’t move, I’ll blow again.” I steadied her head.
“Blow—” Before she could finish, I suddenly exhaled sharply. Wang Ziyan immediately jerked away, rubbing her eye.
“Is it out now?” I smirked at her.
Wang Ziyan pouted. “You have no idea how to be gentle with a lady!”
“I remember you used to chase me around trying to hit me. Doesn’t seem very ‘ladylike’ to me.” I chuckled, then turned to Mei’er. “Mei’er, come with me.”
“Okay!” Mei’er smiled and nodded.
“I want to go too!” Xu Xin, Wang Ziyan, Tang Shuyao, and Sister Lin all said in unison.
What the hell? Why were they all butting in?
Xu Xin and Wang Ziyan wanting to come was understandable, but… Sister Lin and Tang Shuyao? Why did they have to stick their noses into everything?
I scratched my head awkwardly. “Uh… can we have some alone time?”
“No!” They answered in unison again. Just how synchronized were these girls?
At least Qin Mengdie wasn’t joining in. She always seemed so composed and elegant.
In terms of looks and temperament, she was definitely goddess-tier. Before meeting Mei’er, I might have been interested in her, but after getting to know the pure-hearted Mei’er, I realized I preferred girls with that kind of innocence—though, of course, they had to have ample curves.
I sighed. “Fine, you win. I won’t go, okay?” With that, I plopped down on the ground to watch the sunset.
Wang Ziyan and the others stopped teasing and sat down beside me.
The sunset was truly beautiful. Watching it while feeling the ocean breeze was a unique kind of pleasure.
The scene made me a little homesick. I wondered how the old man was doing—was he still angry with me?
A moment of foolishness had led me to leave home for two years. There were times when I really wanted to go back, but I was afraid the old man would still be upset. After all, it was the first time I had ever defied him.
But even now, I still believed that the Xia family could rise again without relying on help from other families.
Even if that matter had been arranged by my parents beforehand…
I turned to look at the beauties sitting beside me—each with delicate features, radiant faces flushed by the evening glow, exuding a unique charm.
If I kissed them one by one, it’d be absolutely exhilarating! But though I had the desire, I lacked the courage.
“By the way, Miss Qin and Miss Tang, you two went through such a big ordeal, but I haven’t seen anyone from your families come to check on you?” I asked Tang Shuyao and Qin Mengdie.
It was strange that neither the Qin nor Tang family had reacted after Qin Mengdie and Tang Shuyao nearly lost their lives. They hadn’t taken them back home or even made any gestures of concern.
“I already told my dad, but I only mentioned the helicopter malfunction. I didn’t say the pilot tried to kill us,” Tang Shuyao said, her expression uneasy.
Qin Mengdie took over, her tone cold. “We’re fine. There’s no need to bother them with their busy schedules.”
Her words carried a hint of resentment. Though I didn’t understand why, this was a private family matter, and it wasn’t my place to interfere.
“You should still inform your families. This situation isn’t simple,” I advised with a sigh.
But my words seemed to anger Qin Mengdie. “You don’t understand anything!”
With that, she stood up and walked back toward the inn.
“What’s… what’s wrong with her?” Did I say something wrong? I didn’t think so.
Tang Shuyao sighed. “Uncle Qin and Mengdie have a very strained relationship…” Then she stood up and hurried after Qin Mengdie.
“What happened to Mengdie?” Sister Lin asked, confused.
I glanced at her. “You didn’t hear all that just now?”
Sister Lin really never missed a chance to tease me.
“What commotion? I was watching the sunset!” She looked genuinely puzzled.
Seeing that she really didn’t seem to know, I didn’t bother explaining. I stood up and dusted myself off. “The sun’s gone home to… do its thing. Let’s head back to the inn.”
The girls had already booked the inn earlier. I went straight to my room—the only downside was that all the girls were paired up, leaving me alone.
Shaking my head, I calmed my mind, sat cross-legged on the bed, and took out a spirit stone to absorb its spiritual energy.
I refined the energy into True Qi, then purified it further using the Nine Revolutions of Heaven and Earth technique.
I suddenly noticed that the tiny crescent moon inside me was still there. Though small, the surrounding True Qi had changed—it now swirled around the crescent in a vortex-like motion, becoming even more refined.
I wasn’t sure how much time had passed when a knock suddenly sounded at the door.
Just as I finished replenishing my True Qi, I opened my eyes and exhaled some impure energy.
Standing up, I opened the door to find Sister Lin and the others rushing in, frantic.
“X-Xia Tian! Shuyao and Mengdie…”
“What happened to them? Spit it out!” Seeing Sister Lin’s panic, something must have gone wrong. But she was stammering too much.
When she still couldn’t get the words out, I turned to Xu Xin, Wang Ziyan, and Mei’er behind her. “Do you know what’s going on?”
“No idea. Sister Lin and Mei’er rushed us out of our rooms in a panic but didn’t explain anything,” Wang Ziyan said, equally clueless.
I looked at Mei’er. “Mei’er, what’s happening?”
Mei’er shook her head. “Sister Lin got a phone call and suddenly became like this…”
A phone call? Noticing the phone still in Sister Lin’s hand, I snatched it and spoke into it. “Hello? What’s going on?”
“Arrogant jerk, come save us! We’re near the inn—that guy from the beach brought people and cornered us…” Tang Shuyao’s voice suddenly cut off, sending my heart into overdrive.
Then her voice returned, but now trembling with tears. “Mengdie! Mengdie!”
Dammit! That bastard actually dared to make a move? Was his earlier act all fake?!
I shoved the phone back into Sister Lin’s hands. “Stay here and wait for me! Don’t go anywhere!”
With that, I bolted out of the room.
Qin Mengdie, Tang Shuyao… you must not be hurt!
