That Sun guy was clearly scared out of his wits—it didn’t seem like an act—so how did he still dare to cause trouble for Qin Mengdie and the others?
Back then, they hadn’t known about the power behind Qin Mengdie and her friends. Seeing them without any male company, they had dared to harass them. But now that he knew their background, how could he still act so recklessly? Did he have an even bigger backer behind him?
Though puzzled, I didn’t slow down at all, sprinting around the inn’s vicinity, searching for them.
“Qin Mengdie! Tang Shuyao!” I shouted their names as I ran.
The people around me stared at me like I was a madman, but I had no time to care. I had to find them as soon as possible. From what Tang Shuyao had said on the phone, Qin Mengdie was already in danger.
D*mn it! I’d nearly circled the entire inn—where the hell were they?
Just as I was about to lose it, I spotted a large crowd gathered in a circle up ahead.
I pushed through and saw Qin Mengdie and Tang Shuyao in the middle.
“Stay back! I’ve already called someone! That narcissist will be here soon!” Tang Shuyao shouted at Sun, supporting Qin Mengdie.
Sun had five or six lackeys behind him.
At her words, Sun’s expression darkened. “Hmph! I came looking for that bastard to settle the score! But since I ran into you two first, I’ll take you both. Let’s see what that guy can do then!”
“Help!” Tang Shuyao cried out to the onlookers.
“Those poor girls…”
“Yeah, the one being helped—her hand’s all torn up.”
“Sigh… Blame it on them being too pretty.”
“These guys are animals, attacking two young girls!”
“Absolutely! They deserve a beating!”
The crowd murmured in sympathy, but not a single person stepped forward—not even a shout of protest.
“Who the hell do you think will save you?” Brother Sun laughed, seeing Tang Shuyao’s panicked expression.
His laughter cut off abruptly as he sneered. “These cowards are just here to watch! None of them dare to interfere!”
With that roar, the spectators fell completely silent, not even daring to whisper anymore.
“F*ck this!” I cursed, trying to push through the crowd, but the bystanders blocked me.
“Kid, don’t be stupid!”
“They’ve got numbers. Just stay back and watch!”
“Are you an idiot? You wanna get beaten up?”
“You’re just a tourist—don’t go looking for trouble!”
Is this the so-called “national quality”? Well, they weren’t wrong. If I didn’t know Qin Mengdie and Tang Shuyao, I wouldn’t bother with this mess. But the thing was—I did know them, and we lived under the same roof!
“Move!” I growled, shoving the onlookers aside. Just then, a clear voice rang out:
“Stop right there!”
I turned and saw a young man in his twenties, flanked by two bodyguards in suits, stepping into the circle.
“Holy sh!t, this guy’s an idiot! Does he think bringing two bodyguards makes him cool? There are seven or eight guys on the other side!”
“You don’t get it. Anyone who travels with bodyguards isn’t ordinary.”
“Let’s just watch. Don’t say anything.”
The two bodyguards had restrained auras. Despite their sunglasses, I could see the slight bulge at their temples—they were at least peak Yellow Rank experts!
I relaxed. Against these small-time thugs, one of them could take them all down easily.
“Hey, kid! You got a death wish or what? What era do you think this is, playing hero?” Sun sneered, pointing at the young man.
His lackeys burst into laughter.
The young man gave Sun a disdainful glance before turning to his bodyguards. “Ah Long, Ah Hu, protect the ladies. I’ll handle these punks myself.”
“What an idiot! He’s got bodyguards but wants to play hero?”
“Rich kids are all messed up in the head!”
“Trying to act cool now? He’s just asking for a beating!”
At first, I thought the guy was an idiot too. But then I remembered the young man beside Zhao Gao, and I stopped underestimating him.
Still, despite his upright posture, his steps were unsteady, his hair had streaks of white, and his face was overly pale—he looked like he had a severe case of kidney deficiency!
“Don’t worry, ladies. Watch me teach these scoundrels a lesson!” The young man struck a classic Huang Feihong pose.
Sun and his gang burst into laughter again. “Oh wow! Looks like we’ve got a martial artist here!”
Even the spectators couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Hmph!” The young man snorted, stepping forward with a spinning kick aimed at Sun.
Fast? Accurate? Powerful? None of the above. His movements were flashy—more suited for gymnastics than combat. There was no real force behind it.
Just as I made that judgment, his foot connected with Sun. Logically, such a weak, slow kick should’ve been easy to dodge.
But Sun took the hit squarely, stumbling back several steps before falling flat on his ass.
Had I misjudged? Was this the “hidden force” Long Qingyang had mentioned?
Enraged, Brother Sun scrambled up and barked at his men, “Beat him to a pulp!”
The lackeys rushed forward, snarling.
Unfazed, the young man spun in place, planting his hands on the ground and delivering a series of kicks that knocked several down. Then, with a scissor-leg takedown, he pinned another.
Again, his movements were overly flashy and inefficient—wasting energy on unnecessary flourishes. Yet, somehow, every thug he struck went down instantly. Was I missing something?
“Bravo!”
“What a master!”
“This kid’s got skills!”
The crowd erupted in cheers. The young man clasped his hands in a showy salute before glaring at the remaining thugs.
They exchanged glances and charged again.
But before he could act, I moved. Slapping the last three across their faces, I sent them sprawling with a single strike—fast, precise, and brutal. Perfect score!
With the thugs dealt with, I turned to the young man. “Thanks for helping my friends, brother.”
Without waiting for a reply, I went to Tang Shuyao and Qin Mengdie. “Are you two okay?”
“Narcissist, you’re finally here!” Tang Shuyao burst into tears. “Sister Mengdie’s hurt! Look!”
“I’m fine…” Qin Mengdie said calmly, though her hand had a nasty scrape.
“Damn it!” I cursed, spinning around and grabbing Brother Sun by the collar, lifting him off the ground.
Gasps rose from the crowd.
“That skinny guy’s crazy strong!”
“Holy sh!t, is this a movie? That was awesome!”
“Dude’s even manlier than Brother Chun! Total badass!”
Ignoring them, I glared at Sun. “Did you forget what I told you? Do you want to die?”
“P-please, big bro! Spare me! I-I was out of my mind! Have mercy!” Sun trembled, his face ghostly pale.
“Hmph!” I smirked. “You wanted revenge, right? Here’s your chance!” With a flick of my wrist, I hurled him into the air before delivering a spinning kick that sent him flying several meters. He rolled across the ground, howling in pain.
“Agh! Aghhh—”
I wasn’t done yet, but the young man suddenly blocked my path.
“Brother, forgiveness is a virtue,” he said with a smile.
“Bullsh!t!” I snapped, trying to step around him. Qin Mengdie was hurt—if I didn’t teach Sun a lesson, how could I face Qin Shousheng?
“How dare you insult our young master!” Ah Long and Ah Hu roared, both lashing out with kicks.
Hah! Yellow Rank experts trying to show off in front of me? I swept my leg out, knocking them back. But when I turned to finish off Sun, he was already gone.
“D*mn it!”
Returning to Qin Mengdie and Tang Shuyao, I said, “Let me see your hand.”
“I have medicine. This young lady might need it,” the young man offered, handing over some antiseptic and bandages. I took them without a second thought.
“What are you doing?” Qin Mengdie tensed as I grabbed her hand.
Ignoring her, I dressed her wound and sighed in relief. “There. Done.”
“…Thank you,” she said softly, letting Tang Shuyao help her up.
I turned to the young man. “You’ve helped us a lot. What’s your name?”
He blinked, then smiled. “Wei Junzhi, at your service.”
Wei Junzhi? (Fake Gentleman) What was with these ridiculous names?!
