The sun hung high in the sky, its light almost blinding.
Mei’er and the others, now in their swimsuits, were undoubtedly the most stunning sight on the beach.
The onlookers gulped, their mouths watering uncontrollably, while the rich and handsome guys nearby stirred restlessly, itching to strike up a conversation.
But the moment they spotted me standing among these beauties, they started cursing under their breaths.
“That guy’s just a little taller, a little more handsome, and has a bit more muscle—why do so many gorgeous girls have to surround him?!”
“Must be some young master from a wealthy family out for fun, bringing so many beauties along. Ugh…”
“Seriously, how come I’ve never heard of these girls? They’re way prettier than celebrities!”
“Damn it! All the good ones are taken by dogs!”
What the hell?! Sure, I might be a bit of a playboy, but I have standards! These losers are clearly just jealous, okay?!
“Sister Lin, stop pushing them up—it won’t make them any bigger!” I teased, watching her try to adjust her chest with her hands.
Sister Lin flustered, quickly retorting, “Who’s pushing anything?!”
“Sister Mengxin, don’t listen to his nonsense!” Tang Shuyao shot me a glare. Sister Lin looked grateful. “Yao Yao understands me best!”
But the moment Sister Lin finished speaking, Tang Shuyao grinned mischievously, putting on a serious face as she took Sister Lin’s hand. “Sister Mengxin, even if you can’t make them bigger by pushing, you can at least make them swell! Once they’re all flushed with blood, they’ll naturally look bigger! Want me to help?” She reached out with devilish hands.
“Get lost!” Sister Lin smacked her hand away, pouting unhappily.
Seeing that Sister Lin seemed genuinely annoyed, Tang Shuyao backed off.
Sister Lin then sneakily approached Mei’er, whispering, “Mei’er, how are yours so big? Is there some secret? Tell me!”
I nearly faceplanted right then and there—some things are just genetics!
But I pretended not to hear, since Sister Lin had spoken softly enough that even Tang Shuyao beside her didn’t catch it.
Mei’er blinked in confusion. “Mei’er doesn’t know… Is being big good?”
“Oh my god! My dearest, cutest Mei’er! You can’t be serious!” Sister Lin looked utterly defeated.
Mei’er tilted her head. “Sister Mengxin, what’s this ‘oh my god’ thing?”
“Never mind!” Sister Lin sighed, then pressed on in a hushed voice, “Then… have you ever massaged them? I heard massaging can help!”
“Massage?” Mei’er blinked.
Sister Lin quickly clarified, “You know, using your hands to rub them!”
Mei’er’s face turned slightly red. “Xia Tian… has massaged Mei’er before.”
“Xia Tian?!” Sister Lin stiffened, then gritted her teeth. “So this brat knows br9ast-enhancing techniques and kept them from me?! Just wait till we get back—I’ll teach him a lesson!”
What the—?! Mei’er, that wasn’t a massage! That was me taking advantage!
By the time we reached the shore, Tang Shuyao was already dragging Qin Mengdie into the sea, with Wang Ziyan following close behind. Only Mei’er, Sister Lin, Xu Xin, and I remained on the beach.
Sister Lin stayed behind for obvious reasons—her modest chest meant her swimsuit would just fill with water, making for an embarrassing situation. But Xu Xin’s reluctance puzzled me.
Xu Xin had a great figure—ranked third on the freshman campus belle list, after all.
Speaking of which, the top three beauties on that list all lived with me. If the school found out, I’d probably become infamous.
“Xu Xin, why aren’t you joining them?” I asked.
She smiled faintly. “I just… don’t really like water.”
Though she smiled, I could tell it was forced. Disliking water was likely just an excuse.
“Then Mei’er and I will go ahead!” I said, taking Mei’er’s hand.
Xu Xin nodded. “Go ahead. I’ll just enjoy the view here.”
“Sister Lin, wanna come?” I teased.
She glared. “Do you have a death wish?!”
“Fine, fine!” Laughing, I pulled Mei’er toward the sea.
I deliberately chose a spot far from the others—finally, some alone time with Mei’er!
But the moment she hit the water, Mei’er became a bundle of excitement, splashing around and completely forgetting about me. Time for some payback!
“Mei’er!” I called.
She turned. “Xia Tian? What is it?”
“This!” I quickly leaned in, aiming for her lips.
“Ah!” She yelped, stumbling back.
Just as I thought I’d succeeded, a wave of cold seawater drenched me.
Fake-glaring, I scooped up water and splashed her back. “Oh, you dare attack me? Take this!”
Mei’er shook her head, laughing as she retaliated.
What?! My sweet, obedient Mei’er was fighting back?!
“Eat this!” This time, I didn’t bother cupping the water—I just swept my hands across the surface, sending a spray her way.
“You missed!” She dodged, giggling.
We played like that for a while, thoroughly soaked and breathless with laughter.
Mei’er’s hair clung to her skin, her white bikini only amplifying the effect. My heart raced.
Pausing, I suddenly pulled her into my arms.
Mei’er stuck out her tongue playfully. “Ah! Mei’er got caught!”
“Mei’er…” My voice trembled slightly.
She blinked. “Mei’er’s right here! Xia Tian is so silly!”
Taking a deep breath, I ignored her teasing and gazed at her seriously. “I love you.”
Mei’er smiled. “Mei’er loves Xia Tian too!”
“Will you be my girlfriend?” I asked earnestly.
She tilted her head. “Isn’t Mei’er already your girlfriend?”
“I mean… for real.” I swallowed. “The kind where we get married, have kids… the forever kind.”
Her smile faded. Lowering her head, she whispered, “Mei’er knows what ‘girlfriend’ really means now…”
“Mei’er wants to stay with Xia Tian forever too, but… humans and demons walk different paths. Mei’er is of the demon race…”
“I don’t care!” I held her tighter.
“Xia Tian, have you heard the saying, ‘When the nine-tailed fox appears, chaos follows’?” When I shook my head, she continued, “By human beliefs, Mei’er is an omen of misfortune. Once Mei’er unlocks the sixth tail’s seal… Mei’er will have to leave.”
Originally, Mei’er stayed with me because my strong Yang Qi masked her Yin Qi. But as she grew stronger, she’d no longer need me…
“I won’t let you go!” My grip tightened. “I don’t believe in superstitions! All I know is that I love you! If any demon hunters come, I’ll fight them to keep you here!”
“Xia Tian…” Tears welled in her eyes. “You shouldn’t… Mei’er is cursed—”
“Shut up!” I cut her off. “I saved you once. I changed your fate before—I’ll do it again!”
“Xia Tian…” She finally broke, sobbing against my chest.
*I need to get stronger. Only power can protect those I love. One day, I, Xia Tian, will stand at the pinnacle of this world, commanding life and death itself!*
Gently wiping her tears, I leaned in—only for Sister Lin’s voice to ruin the moment.
“Xia Tian!”
*Goddammit, Lin Mengxin! And damn the stupid scriptwriter! If this keeps up, I’m quitting this damn show!*
I turned, annoyed. “What?!”
“What drinks do you and Mei’er want?”
“Coke!” I grumbled.
She left, and the mood was thoroughly ruined.
But then Mei’er suddenly rose on her tiptoes, pressing her lips to mine in a fleeting kiss.
“Since Sister Mengxin interrupted… Mei’er will make it up to you.” She smiled through her tears.
My heart pounded wildly.
Even if it was just a peck—this was Mei’er’s first time initiating a kiss!
Taking a deep breath, I vowed, “I, Xia Tian, swear to protect Su Mei’er forever. She will never leave my side!”
