April was just around the corner.
“It’s already been three months since I started working as a butler.”
At first, it had been difficult to adapt. Memorizing the etiquette and basic skills required of a butler was one thing, but getting used to them was entirely different.
A butler’s duties involved mastering simple martial arts for self-defense, to protect the young lady, as well as developing document-handling skills. Beyond that, there were tasks like greeting guests, explaining tea, and making black tea.
Still, I found it quite enjoyable to learn things I hadn’t known before.
“Kimuhyon… Hyeon… Hyunjin.”
“Sorry, I inadvertently declined.”
“… No, Kim. I almost made a big mistake.”
Whenever she was alone with me, she often tried to call me by my full name, Kim Hyunjin, as I had initially requested. However, it didn’t seem to come naturally to her.
The reason she had tried to name me Shingo Kurosawa was out of concern. She worried I might face discrimination and thought giving me a Japanese name would avoid it. However, I assured her it wasn’t an issue, and we decided to stick with my original name, Kim Hyunjin.
In this world of gentle romantic comedies, I didn’t think things needed to be taken so seriously. There were many enjoyable moments in taking care of her.
For instance, I often saw her tripping over the hem of her dress or accidentally dropping her glass as she set it down.
When I cleared my throat during such incidents, I had to suppress a smile from slipping out. From my perspective, all those clumsy moments were so endearing that I nearly went crazy trying to maintain my composure.
She always tried to present herself as a noble lady, but her slightly disheveled demeanor was unmistakably the Amelia I remembered.
“Hyunjin, have some black tea,” she said.
“Yes, my lady.”
She carefully poured the tea into the teacup before her. Perhaps because I had grown accustomed to the process, I managed to follow her actions without making the slightest error.
She seemed like she wanted to say something more, but her hesitation made her resemble a small, timid animal. Amelia quietly sipped her tea, turning her head away in silence.
“Lady Amelia?” I called out.
She turned suddenly, startled, and dropped her teacup.
“Th-that… that… I beg your pardon?”
“My lady, you spilled tea.”
“What are you talking about?! Do you think I’d make such a mistake?!”
Her face reddened as she stammered in frustration. Her flustered reaction, combined with her clumsiness, was so adorable that it took all my training as a butler to keep my expression composed.
“Nevertheless, you did spill it,” I replied.
“… That is…”
“Was there something you wanted to say?” I prompted.
“N-nothing! Kim, make sure you attend high school with me!”
“High school…? Are you serious?”
“Do you know about the private Hoshizora High School?”
“I heard about it from Butler Ed. Isn’t that the school you attend?”
“Yes! Ed told you… hehe…”
As Amelia hesitated, I quickly cleaned up the broken teacup and wiped away the spilled tea.
“Well, that’s right. So, Kim, I hereby order you to make your high school debut!”
“High school debut? What do you mean?”
The request was sudden, though not entirely unexpected. Since I had read the original story, I figured it was best to adopt a mindset of enjoying the inevitable.
“You mean you want me to attend the academy and follow you around?”
“Exactly!”
“Hmph, too hard? Relax a little when you’re alone with me, won’t you?” she teased.
“I can’t do that, my lady,” I replied.
I would have liked to speak more casually, but living in this household for three months had taught me something important: Butler Ed was no ordinary butler. His perceptiveness was extraordinary. It was as though he had a built-in eavesdropping device, always aware of every word and nuance.
“Hmph. Just make sure to finish your tea, Hyunjin!”
“Yes, my lady.”
After tidying up, I placed a fresh teacup in front of Amelia and poured her some tea.
Making my high school debut…
Whether I liked it or not, this meant being in the same class as Ryunosuke, the protagonist of the original story.
Beyond that, I would also encounter other heroines.
‘I don’t think there’s any need to overthink this,’ I told myself.
It felt strange, but I wondered if I could adapt to high school life again. Could I manage without running into significant problems?
That thought lingered—at least until the day I would attend school and begin drawing attention.
Get More Chapters on Patreon: From now on, FSM Level 2 will become the CN WN Bundle. The price will remain the same which is $10. Also, the price for the KR WN Bundle will also be decreased to $10 to match this bundle.
With this I have gotten rid of the level system. The reason I am doing this, is because I plan to add more chapters to the $5 Patron tiers. Previously the readers got 2 advance chapters when they became a $5 Patron, but now I’ve increased the chapters they will get to at least 5 chapters and more. So the current updated tier system will work like this:
The Individual Tiers ($5) will give you access to 5 chapters or more.
The Bundle Tiers ($10) will give you access to all the chapters of CN or KR webnovels.
The Supreme Patron ($30) will give you access to all the webnovel chapters on Goblinslate.
