Chapter 46: Event Mobs (part 2)

“Fufu, Stella Eritz—to catch you… …!”

“Salamander.”

Whoosh!

Stella, who had already burned the cadets who came at her several times, checked how much time she had left.

‘Only five minutes left…’

Three hundred seconds. Considering the time it took to use 300 Flame Whips, it felt long, but in reality, it was a short period. If the cadets attacking her could hold on for just 30 seconds each, only ten would remain.

In truth, the cadets’ attacks had become more persistent and concentrated. It was clear that they had realized they couldn’t defeat her 3-star summon head-on and had started strategizing.

‘This is dangerous.’

It was said that 3-star Summoners often operated deep within enemy lines and worked alone, so this test wasn’t entirely unreasonable.

But while Stella understood the purpose, it didn’t mean she liked it.

Of course, the cadets preferred to team up with someone weaker than themselves rather than face a stronger opponent. Some even bowed their heads in advance to secure connections for after graduation.

However, Stella had no such followers.

As a member of the prestigious Eritz family, she couldn’t stand those who behaved like that.

‘Before time runs out, I need to form an alliance.’

But trustworthy allies were scarce. At best, there was Noah and Ian.

Reflecting on this, Stella realized she wasn’t doing well at the academy. The purpose of the Academy was to train Summoners and foster camaraderie. Yet here she was, with no trusted friends.

Taking a deep breath, she set off to find a safe place to rest.

As she moved—

“… … Hey, Eritz.”

“… Senior Dinua?”

“Ah, nice to see you. How’s Ian?”

“I haven’t seen him.”

Stella encountered Dinua Erebos, an unreliable yet familiar face.

Looking around, Stella noticed Dinua was also alone.

It seemed Dinua, a fellow 3-star Summoner, had been rejected by other cadets as well.

With no allies and few options, Stella seized the opportunity.

“Senior, would you like to team up with me?”

“A team… … ?”

“Yes, a team.”

Dinua hesitated for a moment, looking around nervously, before finally meeting Stella’s gaze.

“Will Ian join us?”

“…Not yet.”

“If we meet him, will he?”

“I don’t know. If Ian agrees, then yes…”

“Hmm, alright then…”

Though the terms of the alliance were odd, Stella accepted them without argument. If Ian joined later, it would only benefit her as well.

Satisfied with her decision, Stella asked, “How much time do you have left?”

“Time… ?”

“Yes, the remaining time.”

“Uh… What do you mean?”

“…You don’t know?”

“No…”

Stella checked her watch. Forming an alliance with someone whose summon time had run out would mean carrying dead weight.

Thankfully, Dinua had about three minutes remaining. Relieved, Stella explained the rules.

“This is your summon’s remaining active time.”

“Ah, I see.”

“If you run out of time, you won’t be eliminated immediately, but without a summon, even a 1-star Summoner could defeat you. It’s essentially the same as being disqualified.”

“Right, that makes sense…”

“Didn’t you participate last year?”

“Last year, I just hid until I was eliminated…”

The more Stella heard, the more exasperated she felt.

Still, she reminded herself that underestimating an ally wasn’t productive. Extending her hand, she offered reassurance.

“If that’s not going to happen this year, we’ll need a safe place for the night, right?”

“Ah, yes.”

Dinua clasped her hands together, nodding awkwardly.

As she began to describe a structure she had seen earlier—

Hrooooo….

Boom!

The ground around them shattered, and a violent sandstorm swept through.

Stella and Dinua barely managed to shield themselves, using the Salamander’s flames and Dinua’s telekinesis.

A cadet with blonde hair, standing atop a massive sand golem, laughed arrogantly.

“Stella Eritz! Your time ends here!”

Behind her, a swarm of summons followed. Stella’s expression stiffened slightly as she glared at the cadet.

“You.”

“Surrendering is futile—”

“I can see your panties.”

“Ah—!?”

The blonde-haired cadet immediately squatted, pulling down her skirt.

Seizing the moment, Stella turned to Dinua.

“Senior, run!”

“Just me?”

“…Of course, we’re running together! What do you—”

Realizing Stella’s intent, Dinua quickly activated Dim’s Origin Art. Darkness enveloped the area.

“—It’s useless!”

The blonde cadet, recovering, unleashed a sandstorm with her summon’s Origin Art.

The storm scattered the darkness and swept toward Stella and Dinua.

But by then, they were already gone.

While the blonde cadet and her summons searched for them—

Weeeeeeng!

“Uh…?”

“Whoa, what!”

Ian descended dramatically from the sky.

Get More Chapters on Patreon: From now on, FSM Level 2 will become the CN WN Bundle. The price will remain the same which is $10. Also, the price for the KR WN Bundle will also be decreased to $10 to match this bundle.

With this I have gotten rid of the level system. The reason I am doing this, is because I plan to add more chapters to the $5 Patron tiers. Currently the readers get 2 advance chapters when they become a $5 Patron, but I want to increase the chapters they get to at least 5 chapters and more. So the current updated tier system will work like this:

The Individual Tiers ($5) will give you access to 5 chapters or more.

The Bundle Tiers ($10) will give you access to all the chapters of CN or KR webnovels.

The Supreme Patron ($30) will give you access to all the webnovel chapters on Goblinslate.
