Chapter 65: Nether Moon

Above Wu Biheng’s head, a black moon loomed like a grinding disk of destruction. Its dark radiance blocked out the blazing sun, shaking the earth, causing rocks to fall from the canyon, and spreading a devastating aura all around.

Zi Ying’s face paled instantly. She wanted to rush forward but ultimately stopped herself.

Tian Fan’s heart skipped a beat. Wu Biheng was now far more powerful than before—not only in Qi but also in physical strength. His combat prowess had surged, causing Tian Fan to feel a tinge of danger.

“You should feel honored. This is the first time I am unleashing the ‘Nether Moon.’ Even in death, you can take pride in this!”

The moment the black moon appeared, Wu Biheng radiated an eerie aura, as though he no longer belonged to this world but rather resembled an ancient warrior from the Netherworld.

“Careful, your words might trip your tongue!”

Tian Fan remained fearless. Silver lotuses bloomed around him as he unleashed the “Nine-Nine Convergence.”

The Nether Moon hovered in midair, casting a vast shadow across the earth with its enigmatic power.

Silver radiance erupted as eighty-one streaks of sword Qi burst forth, seemingly intent on splitting the heavens. Though Tian Fan had not fully reached the mid-stage of Cloud Heaven, his mastery of “Ninefold Unity” was now smoother and more potent than ever.

Bang!

Wu Biheng charged forward without hesitation, sneering as the silver sword Qi struck his purple-gold armor, producing clanging sounds but failing to penetrate it.

He advanced on foot, rushing toward Tian Fan. The black Nether Moon above him emitted a dark beam of divine light aimed straight at Tian Fan.

Startled, Tian Fan activated his Divine Cloud Steps, instantly appearing high above. The spot where he had just stood disintegrated into a giant pit several meters wide as the black beam descended, and the ground continued to erode.

“Heh, trying to escape? Your head is mine today!”

Wu Biheng sneered, turning into a black streak that tore through space, producing thunderous rumbles.

Buzz…

The sound of a sword rang out. A massive silver sword aura materialized in the void, descending with destructive energy. It clashed against Wu Biheng, who had turned into a black streak.

Boom!

The impact was immense, forcing Wu Biheng to crash from the sky and embed himself deep into the ground. A massive black crater appeared, with countless cracks radiating outward like a spider web. The depths of the crater obscured Wu Biheng’s figure.

“Is he done for?”

Tian Fan frowned, unwilling to believe that someone like Wu Biheng could die so easily.

Rumble…

The ground trembled, and gravel shook. A black shadow burst upward, splitting the earth open. A black sphere floated into the sky, dissipating to reveal Wu Biheng’s robust physique, entirely unscathed.

Tian Fan’s brow furrowed. With the protection of the purple-gold armor and a higher cultivation realm, Wu Biheng exerted tremendous pressure. He was comparable to—or perhaps even stronger than—the formidable Xiang Yufei Tian Fan had once faced.

What unsettled Tian Fan most was the Nether Moon above Wu Biheng’s head. Surrounded by sinister black mist, it truly seemed like the moon of the Netherworld, exuding demonic power and the threat of death.

“Disciples of the Sword Immortal Sect are truly extraordinary!”

Tian Fan’s silver diagram stretched across the sky, forming a protective “卍” symbol. Instead of retreating, he charged forward, his golden fists distorting the air with sheer force as he aimed to shatter the eerie moon.

“Heh…”

Wu Biheng sneered as the Nether Moon transformed into a spinning disk, flying outward. Wherever it passed, the void twisted, and the ground caved in.

Cough…

Tian Fan’s golden fists clashed against the black Nether Moon, sending him flying back as he spat out a mouthful of bl00d.

“Heh, the taste of bl00d. You’re destined to die by my hand!”

Wu Biheng laughed maniacally. His purple-gold armor glowed as he charged forward, intent on delivering a fatal blow to Tian Fan.

“Ahh…”

A golden sun emerged from Tian Fan’s forehead as he unleashed his Mind Void Sword. A powerful surge of divine energy crossed time and space, piercing Wu Biheng’s soul and sending him hurtling backward.

“Good! This makes you worth killing!”

The black Nether Moon returned, floating above Wu Biheng’s head. Black mist cascaded down, enveloping him in an impenetrable shield.

“Arrogant!”

Tian Fan roared, his golden fists glowing brilliantly. With unparalleled power, they smashed the space around him, creating deafening echoes.

Wu Biheng was sent flying again, crashing into a small mountain, which shattered into dust and debris. Yet, moments later, Wu Biheng emerged unscathed, the Nether Moon above him protecting him completely.

“You can’t hurt me. In the end, you’ll still die!”

Wu Biheng smirked sinisterly, wielding a massive battle axe that seemed too large for his frame. Like a barbarian king, he swung the house-sized axe toward Tian Fan.

Boom!

Tian Fan’s golden fist shattered the axe instantly. However, black light from the Nether Moon pierced through the silver diagram protecting Tian Fan and struck him directly.

“Pfft…”

Tian Fan spat out bl00d, heavily injured. A strange power penetrated his defenses, wreaking havoc on his internal organs, causing his complexion to alternately darken and pale.

“Heh, with Nether Qi in your body, even immortals can’t save you!”

Wu Biheng soared upward, the black Nether Moon glowing ominously as he aimed a golden beam straight at Tian Fan.

Bang!

Tian Fan countered with his fist, shattering the golden beam, though he was once again sent flying, bl00d trickling from the corner of his mouth.

The true threat wasn’t the golden attacks but the Nether Moon above Wu Biheng, which not only corroded Tian Fan’s meridians but also devoured his divine power, leaving him struggling.

“Five Elements Seal: Seal!”

Tian Fan roared, summoning a five-colored diagram that enveloped him, attempting to suppress the sinister black energy. Though slowed, the energy continued to wreak havoc.

“Suppress!”

Countless ancient silver runes materialized around him, further suppressing the demonic power. Yet it stirred once more after a brief pause.

“Pfft…”

Tian Fan coughed up blackened bl00d, his heart sinking.

“Heh, it’s useless. No one can eradicate the power of the Nether Moon unless someone above the Hunyuan realm sacrifices their essence to expel it!”

Wu Biheng laughed as he walked leisurely through the void, every step filled with absolute confidence.

Cold sweat dripped from Tian Fan’s forehead as the power began to invade his sea of consciousness. He furiously circulated his Mind Void Sword to resist, but it could only slow the black mist.

“What do I do? What do I do…”

Just as despair set in, a radiant golden light rose from the depths of his sea of consciousness, illuminating the black mist and instantly dispersing it…
