Chapter 66: Bianca del Castana III (part 1)

“The…Witch?”

As soon as Bianca laid eyes on the person that had brought destruction to her sanctuary—following a frenzied explosion of mana that shook the entire barrier—she let out a voice that betrayed her disbelief.

It was a shocking revelation.

Not only had the barrier, fortified with more than half of her magical power, been shattered like a brittle cookie, but the one responsible for her presence here was neither the saintess nor the princess.

She was someone who had lost all her memories and power, someone who had fallen into utter misery—none other than the infamous ‘Witch of Winter’!

“…Hah.”

Bianca regarded the white-haired girl standing before her with a determined expression, her own face betraying sheer incredulity.

The situation felt absurd to her.

Looking back, it seemed this girl had honed her blade with relentless effort over the past forty days after suffering defeat at Bianca’s hands.

However, the time Aria had been given after that humiliating loss was far too brief—merely forty days.

Bianca del Castana, who stood at the pinnacle of modern humanity in the field of magic, found it laughable.

Aria, who had been unable to lift even a finger against her previously, was not someone who could easily close the gap.

Magic itself was a profound study, far from something one could master in a mere forty days. If anyone could learn enough to overpower an Archmage in that time, Archmages would be as common as stones on the street.

Thus, Bianca could say with certainty: whatever efforts the white-haired girl had made over the past forty days, they would not be enough to pose a threat to her.

‘…No, this is beyond ridiculous,’ she thought, frowning at the sight of a portion of her barrier crumbling behind Aria.

To create cracks in space itself and selectively destroy only a section of the barrier?

Bianca saw it with her own eyes but struggled to believe it. No matter how she analyzed it, the phenomenon Aria had triggered defied all her knowledge and common sense.

But that wasn’t all…

Aria’s current murderous intent was palpable, and the sheer magical energy emanating from her was leagues beyond what it had been forty days ago. There was now a tangible reason for her boldness in coming here and challenging Bianca head-on.

The current Aria was far stronger than before—so much so that even Bianca hesitated to act rashly.

“Bianca del Castana. Where is the Young Lord?”

Bianca’s eyebrows twitched at Aria’s casual tone, as if she were addressing a neighborhood dog. Previously, Aria had at least referred to her as “Lady Bianca,” but now even that formality was gone, replaced with a deliberate rudeness.

“…A lowly girl from who-knows-where, daring to speak my name as if we are equals? Don’t you realize that such disrespect tarnishes the honor of your master? How pitiful it is for Cain to have someone as rude and foolish as you as his attendant.”

Crack!

Aria clenched her teeth at Bianca’s words. The thought of this woman even uttering her master’s name made her blood boil. She glared at Bianca with contempt, her gaze as cold as it was dismissive.

“That’s rich, coming from someone like you. Respect? You don’t deserve it.”

“…What did you say?”

“Oh, I remember everything. You begged for the Young Lord’s love, and when he rejected you, you resorted to threats. You even went so far as to kidnap him! Your pathetic actions are burned into my memory. Yet you expect to be respected simply because of your noble blood? How shameless can one person be?”

Despite Aria’s cutting words, Bianca’s smile remained unshaken. She had a trump card—a single revelation that would wipe the smug expression off Aria’s face.

“Well, you’ll have no choice but to respect me, whether you like it or not.”

“…What?”

Bianca’s composure, even in the face of Aria’s sharp insults, unsettled her.

Sensing something amiss, Aria narrowed her eyes, while Bianca inwardly savored her anticipation. She imagined the look of despair that would soon consume Aria’s face and couldn’t help but smirk.

“During the past forty days I’ve spent with Cain, our relationship has grown considerably closer. So much so, in fact, that a marriage between us isn’t out of the question.”

At those words, Aria’s eyes blazed with fury, her gaze fixated on Bianca.

“…What absurd nonsense is that? There’s no way someone like Cain would marry a deranged woman like you!”

“Well, we’ll see about that.”

Bianca’s relaxed voice only added fuel to Aria’s rage.

“He and I… we’ve already shared a night together.”

“…What?”

Aria froze, her entire body stiffening as her mind struggled to process Bianca’s words. No, she couldn’t understand. She ‘refused’ to understand.

“Ah, did you not get it? Or are you just pretending not to? Either way, how pitiful. Allow me to explain it in a way even ‘you’ can understand…”
