Chapter 838: The Wager

“That’s more like it,” Song Qingshu said with a roguish grin that made Wanyan Ping’s blood boil. “If you don’t want me to do ‘that’, you should say so.”

“You—if you dare defile me… I’ll never let you go!” Wanyan Ping’s chest heaved violently, her emotions in turmoil.

Song Qingshu chuckled. “Do you really think that empty threat scares me? You can’t beat me—I could do whatever I want to you.”

“Don’t!” Fear finally gripped her. In the past, she might have chosen death over dishonor, but now, after confessing her love to her brother-in-law and tasting its sweetness… “If you spare me, I’ll agree to anything!”

“A woman shouldn’t make such promises so easily!” Song Qingshu frowned, then abruptly swatted her pert backside.

“Ah! You scoundrel!” Wanyan Ping glared daggers at him, her teeth clenched. No man besides her brother-in-law had ever t0uched her like this. The thought of her purity being tainted by this villain made her tremble with rage.

“Such delightful bounce!” Ignoring her fiery glare, Song Qingshu continued, “Though your reckless promise would tempt any man, I happen to be a gentleman. And for your sister’s sake, I’ll be merciful. Agree to one condition, and I’ll let you go.”

“What condition?” ‘Once I’m free, I’ll mobilize the Laundry Court’s experts to kill this bastard,’ she vowed silently.

“From now on, you turn a blind eye to whatever happens between me and your sister. Pretend you know nothing.” Song Qingshu sighed inwardly. ‘Exhausting. If only they’d just talk openly instead of keeping secrets.’

“Never! How dare you bully my sister and expect my brother-in-law to endure this humiliation?” The thought of her beloved suffering made her blood boil.

“Don’t refuse so hastily, Miss Ping. This benefits you too,” Song Qingshu said, his eyes glinting mischievously.

“Liar! How?” she snapped.

“By giving you… uninterrupted time with your brother-in-law.”

His words struck like lightning. “Y-You… how do you know?”

“I know everything—including your little rendezvous by the mountain stream.” ‘Ugh, why did I phrase it like that?’

Wanyan Ping paled. Her deepest secret—exposed. Her mind went blank.

“Your sister wronged your brother-in-law, but you wronged her too. The pot calling the kettle black—neither can judge the other.” ‘Thank you, past-life h9ntai binges. Who knew they’d make me a master manipulator?’

“If you expose this, everyone loses. But stay silent? While I’m with your sister, you can steal moments with your brother-in-law. Let their love fade, then reveal the truth. Their separation becomes inevitable… and you get him lawfully.”

Her face flickered with conflict. His vile proposal was… tempting. She’d agonized over how to face her sister about the affair. This underhanded solution might actually work…

“No! I won’t betray them.” Despite her longing, she shook her head firmly. She wanted her brother-in-law—but never at her sister’s expense.

Song Qingshu nodded approvingly. ‘Ruthless yet principled. She still protects her sister. No matter—time for the trump card.’

“Then we’re at an impasse.” His hand drifted toward her robes.

“What are you—?!” She stiffened as his fingers neared.

“If you won’t cooperate, I’ll corrupt you too. Once you’re as ‘tainted’ as your sister, you’ll stay silent.” He sighed theatrically. “I detest such methods, but you leave me no choice. Though… having tasted the elder sister, I’m curious how the younger compares.”

“Stop! I… I agree!” Her voice cracked with desperation.

Song Qingshu smirked. ‘Too easy.’

“Good girl.” He freed her acupoints and smoothed her disheveled collar. “A warning: you’ve seen my skills. Break your word, and not even the palace will protect you from what I’ll do. You understand.”

“I do.” Her lips pressed into a thin line, defiance lingering in her eyes.

“To ease your conscience, here’s another reason.” His smile vanished, voice turning glacial. “Right now, I merely enjoy the thrill of c*ckolding your brother-in-law. If you tell him, the game ends… and so does his life. So for his safety—stay silent.”

“You monster!” A chill ran down her spine.

“Flattery.” His grin returned. “Cheer up, Miss Ping. Soon, I may ‘be’ your brother-in-law. You’ll get your heart’s desire—everyone wins!”

“Never! My sister would never abandon him!”

“Let’s wager. If I ‘do’ become your brother-in-law, you and your sister will serve me together.” He tilted her chin up, fox-like.

“Deal!” She slapped his hand away. “But if you fail, you vanish from our lives forever.” ‘Their love is real. I know my sister.’

“Done!” Song Qingshu could already see destiny smiling upon him.
