Chapter 846: The Bait and Switch

“It’s about time,” Song Qingshu mused, estimating that the two women were now in a deep slumber—though, of course, Gebi had been forewarned and was as alert as could be.

Wanyan Liang discreetly swallowed the medicine he had brought with him. Catching the motion from the corner of his eye, Song Qingshu was momentarily stunned before realizing what it was.

‘This b*stard really has no limits. If it were really Tang Kou Bian caught off guard, Gebi would be half-dead after a night of his abuse.’ Song Qingshu inwardly clicked his tongue.

But now, Wanyan Liang would be dealing with a seasoned courtesan—someone who could handle him effortlessly, whether he took one pill or an entire bottle.

‘That poor girl’s going to have a rough night. I should pay her extra afterward—I’m a generous employer, after all.’ He pondered whether to give her a hundred taels of silver or two hundred.

“Where should we go first?” Wanyan Liang asked, surprised to find himself nervous, as if he were a teenager sneaking his first peek at a bathing woman. For someone as experienced as him, this was almost laughable.

“It doesn’t matter. Their rooms are right next to each other,” Song Qingshu replied. He had arranged it this way for control—if anything went wrong with Wanyan Liang, he could intervene immediately.

But Wanyan Liang’s mind took a different turn: ‘This Tang Kou Bian really knows how to have fun. With the rooms side by side, the sounds from next door will be crystal clear…’

His imagination ran wild—listening to his own wife’s m0ans through the wall, spurring him on as he took revenge on the other man’s wife…

Even for a man as jaded as Wanyan Liang, the thought made his throat dry and his body burn with anticipation.

After quietly discussing a few details, Wanyan Liang left his guards in the outer residence and followed Song Qingshu alone into the inner quarters where the w0men stayed.

Song Qingshu couldn’t help but sigh. ‘Lust truly is the blade hanging over a man’s head. If I wanted to assassinate Wanyan Liang now, it’d be child’s play.’

But killing Wanyan Liang at this point didn’t serve his interests. After some consideration, Song Qingshu decided to spare him—for now.

They arrived at the door of Tudan Jing’s room first.

Song Qingshu waved away the maids and servants waiting outside, dismissing them all.

“Don’t worry, Your Highness. There won’t be any unwanted disturbances in this villa tonight,” Song Qingshu whispered.

Wanyan Liang nodded, suppressing the excitement in his chest. He cleared his throat and knocked lightly. “Jing’er, are you asleep?”

A groggy voice answered from inside. “Your Highness? I think I drank too much earlier… I feel so weak, I can barely move.”

“Don’t worry. It’s late, and I’ve decided to stay here tonight. Rest for now. I’ll talk with Brother Tang Kou for a bit and join you soon.”

Wanyan Liang’s emotions were in turmoil. Though he had little moral restraint when it came to other women, he had always cherished his wife. The thought that he was the one pushing her into this pit made him hesitate—but the temptation of Gebi was too great. In the end, he said nothing more.

“Alright… I’ll sleep first. The door’s unlocked—come in whenever you’re ready.” Tudan Jing’s eyelids felt unbearably heavy. She couldn’t muster the energy to move a finger, and with her husband speaking like this, she had no reason to suspect anything.

Wanyan Liang shot Song Qingshu a look and whispered, “Your turn.”

Seeing his eagerness, Song Qingshu smirked inwardly before leading him to the next room. He knocked gently. “Gebi, are you asleep?”

“I just dozed off… My head feels dizzy,” came Gebi’s slightly slurred voice after a pause. “Husband, where are His Highness and the others?”

“I’ve already arranged for them to stay the night. Don’t worry,” Song Qingshu replied.

“Oh… Then come in quickly. I’m not feeling well—I want to sleep in your arms.” Her voice took on a coquettish tone, so sweet and seductive that Wanyan Liang immediately stiffened in response.

“Alright, I’m coming in.” Song Qingshu shot Wanyan Liang a meaningful glance and whispered, “Remember, don’t make a sound later.”

“I know,” Wanyan Liang chuckled hoarsely before eagerly pushing the door open and slipping inside, shutting it firmly behind him as if afraid Song Qingshu might change his mind.

A soft gasp came from within. “Husband, why are you so impatient today?”

Wary of being recognized, Wanyan Liang merely grunted in response, and soon the sounds of k!ssing filled the room.

Standing outside, Song Qingshu sneered.

At that moment, the real Gebi emerged from a hidden passage near the rock garden, her face flushed as she beckoned to him.

Song Qingshu jogged over and grinned. “Your acting earlier was impeccable.”

The truth was, it had been the real Gebi speaking to him from inside the room. Before Wanyan Liang entered, she had slipped out through the secret passage, leaving the decoy behind. Hearing her voice outside, Wanyan Liang had naturally assumed the woman inside was her. Even if her voice sounded slightly different once he was inside, his own guilt and burning desire kept him from questioning it.

Gebi blushed and huffed. “The woman you found is the real actress.” She glanced uneasily at the room. “Can we trust her? If she lets even a single word slip afterward, we’re finished.”

Song Qingshu smiled reassuringly. “Don’t worry. I can guarantee her reliability a hundred percent.” He didn’t mention the Soul Capture Technique—pretending to be her husband was shocking enough. If she knew he could also control minds, she’d probably flee in terror.

Assuming the woman was one of Song Qingshu’s subordinates from the Golden Serpent Camp, Gebi nodded, reassured by his confidence. Then, glancing at Tudan Jing’s room, she teased, “There’s a beautiful Princess Consort lying helpless in there, just waiting for you. Aren’t you going?”

Song Qingshu shook his head. “Compared to some princess consort, I’d much rather have you. Forget her—stay with me tonight.”

Gebi’s face flushed crimson. “You really think of me as your woman now? If you’re that desperate, go find Tudan Jing. I won’t keep you company.”
