Chapter 106: Greetings City Patrol Uncles

“Ah?!” The elderly lady froze for a moment before hurriedly gathering her things. She didn’t even bother collecting payment. Other vendors moved quickly, bundling up their goods and fleeing with large packages strapped to their backs.

Because of her age, the elderly lady struggled to pack up in time. As soon as she finished, the City Patrol officers arrived, followed by a cargo truck.

“Hand it over!” One of the officers snatched the bundle from the elderly lady’s hands and tossed it onto the truck, which was already loaded with confiscated items.

The elderly lady panicked, clinging to the officer as she tearfully pleaded, “Please, return my things! My son had an accident at the construction site, and I need to sell these to pay for his treatment!”

The officer gave her an annoyed glance and kept walking.

Desperate, the elderly lady knelt before him, clutching at his clothes and begging, “Sir, I’m begging you, please return my belongings!”

“Enough of this!” The officer grew irritated and shoved her to the ground.

I couldn’t just stand by anymore. I was about to intervene when I saw the elderly lady clutching her head with one hand while grabbing at the officer’s clothes with the other. Her voice was weak as she said, “Please… please return my things…”

Tears streamed down her face, mixing with the blood oozing from a wound on her forehead.

The young officer, seeing the blood, froze. It seemed even he hadn’t expected his casual shove to cause such harm.

“Xia Tian, help this elderly lady! Teach these jerks a lesson!” Mei’er said through gritted teeth, glaring at the officers.

“Alright, I’ll handle it.” I patted Mei’er’s hand and walked forward.

“Old hag, you’re annoying!” The young officer, still irritated, tried to shove the elderly lady aside again.

I cursed silently and moved to stop him. But just then, a middle-aged officer nearby barked in a low voice, “Zheng Fang, enough!”

It seemed there was at least one rational person among them.

“Uncle, it’s the old hag who won’t leave me alone!” Zheng Fang, the young officer, whined, looking aggrieved.

At first, I hadn’t planned to hold Zheng Fang accountable. After all, he hadn’t injured the elderly lady on purpose. But his continued lack of remorse, even calling her an “old hag,” made me question if he had any conscience at all!

“Greetings, City Patrol Uncle!” I smiled and bowed to the middle-aged officer. I always showed respect to those who deserved it.

“Kid, this has nothing to do with you. Get lost!” Zheng Fang snapped impatiently.

“City Patrol Uncle, do you need my help with anything?” I smiled at Zheng Fang, remaining calm. There would be plenty of chances to settle the score later.

Zheng Fang grew angrier, pointing a finger at my nose. “Are you looking for a beating?!”

“Zheng Fang! What’s the point of arguing with a child?” the middle-aged officer reprimanded him.

Zheng Fang begrudgingly turned away, muttering under his breath, “That brat and the old hag—I’ll deal with them sooner or later!”

I typically avoided meddling in others’ affairs. It was troublesome and rarely benefited me. But today, I encountered someone even more despicable than I could tolerate.

“Uncle, this elderly lady has it tough. Why not return her belongings?” I smiled at the middle-aged officer. Oddly enough, I was feeling particularly polite today.

“You’re pushing your luck, kid!” Zheng Fang turned back, glaring at me.

“Adults are talking. Stay out of it, kid.” I shot Zheng Fang a dismissive glance.

“You…” Zheng Fang was so furious he could barely speak. He pointed at me, trembling like a volcano about to erupt.

Ignoring him, I addressed the middle-aged officer again. “Uncle, how about this? How much would it cost to get the lady’s belongings back? I’ll pay.”

The elderly lady, moved to tears, sobbed, “Thank you, thank you so much…”

“Don’t worry, ma’am. Please, sit here.” I helped her up and guided her to sit on a nearby rock.

“You can’t buy the items back, even if you pay!” Zheng Fang snarled at me through gritted teeth.

Mei’er couldn’t hold back any longer. She stepped forward, frowning. “How can you be so awful?”

“Wow, so beautiful…” Zheng Fang stared at Mei’er, completely dazed.

Ignoring him, I turned back to the middle-aged officer. “Uncle, does my offer still stand?” The officer hesitated, so I added, “I promise this elderly lady won’t set up a stall again in the future.”

“Fine. Pay 100 yuan, and you can take the items back as a fine,” the middle-aged officer said, turning to the lady. “Ma’am, don’t set up a stall here anymore.”

“Thank you, thank you!” The elderly lady couldn’t stop crying, her gratitude overflowing.

“You want the stuff? Too bad, you’re not getting it!” Zheng Fang suddenly shouted. He grabbed the elderly lady’s bundle and began stomping on it, laughing like the stereotypical villain in a TV drama.

“No! Please, no!” The elderly lady cried uncontrollably, her voice growing faint.

“Hmph! I’ll burn it!” Zheng Fang declared, pulling out a lighter.

This guy was utterly shameless! If I didn’t teach him a lesson, I’d be letting down Jesus, Buddha, and the Jade Emperor!

Striding forward, I grabbed Zheng Fang by the collar and slapped him hard across the face. “The first slap is from your parents, to teach you a lesson for being such a disgrace of a son!”

I slapped him again. “The second is from your grandparents, for raising such a useless grandson!”

“Smack!” Another slap landed. “The third is from your future wife, for putting up with such a brainless husband!”

“I-I don’t even have a wife yet,” Zheng Fang stammered, dazed.

“Shut up!” I delivered another slap. Tears welled up in his eyes as he cried, “W-why are you still hitting me?!”

“This slap is for wasting everyone’s time!” I explained patiently before delivering another barrage of slaps.

“This one’s for the elderly lady!”

“This one’s for CCTV!”

“This one’s for the people of the nation!”

“And this last one is for me!”

I lost count of how many times I slapped him. Zheng Fang’s face was swollen like a pig’s head, blood dripping from his nose and mouth. Yet, he still managed to mutter, “Didn’t you say that was the last slap…?”

“Did I say that?” I paused, then smiled. “Oh, my bad. That last one was still for me—your sturdy face made my hand hurt!”

Get More Chapters on Patreon: From now on, FSM Level 2 will become the CN WN Bundle. The price will remain the same which is $10. Also, the price for the KR WN Bundle will also be decreased to $10 to match this bundle.

With this I have gotten rid of the level system. The reason I am doing this, is because I plan to add more chapters to the $5 Patron tiers. Currently the readers get 2 advance chapters when they become a $5 Patron, but I want to increase the chapters they get to at least 5 chapters and more. So the current updated tier system will work like this:

The Individual Tiers ($5) will give you access to 5 chapters or more.

The Bundle Tiers ($10) will give you access to all the chapters of CN or KR webnovels.

The Supreme Patron ($30) will give you access to all the webnovel chapters on Goblinslate.
