Chapter 53: Pure Love (part 2)

However, it was true that the heirloom of the 4-star summon was a waste, so I stood in front of it, pondering for a long time.

“Ian?”

Noah, who had been examining the other heirlooms, approached me. She looked at me with a serious expression, tilted her head, and asked softly, “What’s the matter?”

“It’s nothing…” I replied, shaking my head.

“Really?”

Noah smiled faintly, then picked up the heirloom in front of me. Her sudden action left me momentarily stunned, but what she said next truly floored me.

“Is this what you want?”

“Uh…”

“Then I’ll give it to you.”

“…What?”

“Ian, didn’t you give me a heirloom in the past? Think of this as my way of returning the favor.”

Her face turned slightly red as she averted her gaze and handed the heirloom to me.

I hesitated, realizing that while I couldn’t take two heirlooms myself, I could accept hers.

A wave of emotion surged within me. Yes, I’d worked hard all this time; now it was time to repay the kindness shown to me. Without thinking, I pulled Noah into a vigorous hug and playfully tousled her hair.

“Love you, Noah!”

“Hey, Ian!?”

“You know I really love you, right?”

I wanted to pat her hair and maybe even kiss her, but… was such intimacy possible between a man and a woman?

Reluctantly releasing her, I grabbed the formal dress beside me and headed toward the doorway.

“Noah?”

“Huh? What?”

“Let’s go.”

“Oh, yes! Right, we have to go.”

For some reason, Noah seemed flustered, her steps unsteady as she followed me. Concerned that she might not be feeling well, I supported her carefully. Her face flushed even more.

‘Is this just stress?’

Considering we had a two-day exam ahead and a meeting with the emperor soon after, it wouldn’t have been surprising if she was mentally overwhelmed. With that thought, I guided her out of the treasury.

[Artia’s POV]

Meanwhile, Artia stood outside, watching Ian and Noah as they left the treasure trove she had opened. Her expression was unreadable.

‘How is this even possible?’

The fate of a man named Ian Clarke had already been decided. He was supposed to end his life summoning an insignificant 1-star summon and protecting a small, humble territory.

‘No matter how much heirloom he possesses…’

Artia reached into her subspace, pulling out a particular heirloom—a relic left behind by the paladin of salvation upon her death.

‘It’s still in my hands.’

Summoning the same summon twice was rare, but Ian’s destiny shouldn’t have allowed for a 3-star summon. Yet, here he was, defying fate itself.

‘Is this some singularity I’m unaware of?’

Artia’s dragon eyes couldn’t discern his fate, which left two possibilities: either Ian’s destiny was too insignificant to be detected, or it was so monumental that it exceeded her perception.

Before she could reach a conclusion, Ian and Noah appeared, carrying a formal dress and an heirloom.

Artia frowned, her gaze fixed on the items in their hands.

“Are you sure about this?” she asked.

“Yes,” Ian replied firmly.

Artia’s eyes lingered on the formal dress before closing briefly.

‘I knew it…’

This man wasn’t ordinary. He carried a secret.

“Very well. From this moment on, these heirlooms and ceremonial items are yours…”

“Wait, Ian.”

“Yes?”

Noah stepped forward, holding out her heirloom.

Artia’s jaw dropped. “What are you doing?”

“I’m giving this to Ian. He needs it.”

“You don’t understand! Do you know what that heirloom represents?”

“Does it matter?” Noah responded calmly. Seeing Ian’s happiness brought her joy as well.

“Artia.”

“…How dare you address me so informally?”

“Is that important?” Ian interjected, smiling.

With that, Ian placed the heirloom into his inventory. His preparations were complete. The system linked to him was ready to summon a new summon.

“I wasn’t born with talent. I wasn’t destined for greatness,” Ian murmured. “But I’ll prove that destiny doesn’t matter. I’m not the main character, but I can be more significant than that.”

And with those words, Ian activated the heirloom through the system.

A celestial gate opened, and a figure descended—a witch clad in a pointed hat.

“I, Advent.”

The witch landed gracefully, stretching as if reveling in her newfound freedom. After a moment, she turned to Ian and grinned.

“Ah! How many years has it been since I came out? Is the world dark these days? So many tasty things around!”

Her boisterous voice filled the air, and as she grabbed Ian’s hands to shake them enthusiastically, her ample chest bounced with the motion.

“The Great Witch Empress…”

The witch turned at the sound of her title.

Golden eyes locked onto hers, and a teasing smile spread across her face.

“What’s this? The pure-love dinosaur?”

“W-Who’s a pure-love dinosaur?!”

To Ian’s surprise, it seemed the two were already acquainted.

  1. Funny, in a way. So MC got 3rd summon a 4* one and Dragon is accepting it. Noah became completely submissive to MC. Cheap girl.
