Chapter 115: This Plot is Messed Up!

The students at Shenghua University were either exceptionally gifted or came from wealthy and influential families. The guy in front of me clearly wasn’t anything good, judging by his smug demeanor. He probably came from a family with some money, so it was best not to offend him.

I stepped aside, and as soon as I made way, the guy turned back with a grin and said to the new girl beside him, “Let’s go!”

The girl nodded and followed him. However, as they passed by me, she stopped and said, a little embarrassed, “I’m sorry.”

“No worries.” I smiled, grabbed my suitcase, and walked ahead.

Not far ahead, three girls, dressed similarly to that guy, stood pointing and whispering about me. After a moment, one of them was pushed forward by the others.

The girl glanced back at her friends before walking up to me with a smile. “You must be the new junior this year, right?”

I was taken aback for a moment but smiled in return. “Yes, I am.”

“I’m a senior here to welcome new students. Can I see your admission letter?” she asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

She was decent-looking—if I hadn’t already met beauties like Mei’er and Sister Lin, she might have struck me as beautiful. Now, though, she just seemed like an ordinary pretty girl.

I handed over my admission letter. After a quick glance, she returned it and said with a smile, “I’ll take you to the male dorms.”

“Thanks, Senior!” I smiled at her and followed her lead.

As we walked past the other two girls, they both chimed in teasingly, “This junior is yours; don’t count on getting the next one!”

That remark made me stumble. What?! These Shenghua seniors are a bit… intense!

“Get lost!” the senior leading me scolded them playfully before turning to me with a grin. “Don’t listen to them. We’re just messing around.”

I nodded awkwardly, not daring to say much. College girls were much more straightforward than high schoolers.

Since the campus was enormous and it was freshman registration day, many sightseeing carts were ferrying students around. The senior and I boarded one headed for the male dorms.

Shenghua didn’t give off an opulent or extravagant vibe. Instead, it exuded an understated, intellectual atmosphere. The campus was vast, but the buildings in the distance looked anything but luxurious.

“Junior, what was your score for getting into Shenghua?” she asked with a smile.

I chuckled awkwardly. “Right at the cutoff line.”

“That’s still better than those who got in through money and connections!” she said cheerfully. Her comment, however, left me feeling a bit stifled. My score might not have been entirely real. While I didn’t pay for admission, there’s no way I’d have gotten in without Qin Shousheng’s help.

“Junior, you’re quite tall—about 1.8 meters?” she said, openly sizing me up.

I forced a laugh. “1.85 meters…”

“Not bad! A man should be tall!” she exclaimed excitedly. I noticed the cart driver up front twitching slightly, probably irked by her comment.

“How old are you?” she continued, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

“Eighteen…” I replied, feeling cornered.

“What’s your name, Junior?” she pressed on. Seriously, does she have an end to this?

Feigning alarm, I asked, “Senior, are you conducting a background check?”

She paused for a moment before bursting into laughter. “Get outta here!”

Amidst our banter, we arrived at the male dorm building.

After getting off, she explained, “The male dorms are divided into two buildings, each with six floors, supposedly symbolizing good fortune.”

“You freshmen should be in Building B. Let me check which floor you’re on,” she said, snatching the admission letter from my hand before I could agree.

“You’re on the third floor, Room 213. Not bad—most freshmen this year are on the third and fourth floors,” she said with a smile. “Come on, I’ll take you there.”

“That’s alright. I can find it myself!” I replied hesitantly. She was cute but a bit overbearing.

She patted my shoulder with a laugh. “I like shy juniors like you!”

What?! Who’s shy?!

Under her guidance, I found Room 213. Yet, for some reason, the room number on the plaque looked more like “moron” than 213. (G: Joke lost in translation.)

“Thanks, Senior. You can go help the other freshmen now!” I said, setting down my suitcase.

To my surprise, she smiled and said, “Just a thank you? Leave me your contact info and treat me to a meal sometime!”

“Alright, fine.” I sighed, reluctantly giving her my phone number. If she welcomed every new student this way, she’d probably never have to pay for her own meals.

After she finally left, I took a closer look at the dorm. There were four beds, each with an upper bunk and a lower space for personal belongings, plus a small wardrobe. At the back was a bathroom with a shower.

I chose a spot near the window and began unpacking. Qin Shousheng had prepared everything for me, so I was curious to see what he’d packed.

The clothes were all foreign brands I didn’t recognize but seemed expensive. There were toiletries, an Apple laptop, and an iPhone—these two would come in handy for showing off later!

After arranging my things, I got bored. None of my roommates had arrived yet, so staying here seemed pointless. I decided to explore.

The campus was massive. After wandering for a while, I got so turned around that I couldn’t tell east from west. A map seemed like a necessity; otherwise, I might not even find my way back to the dorm.

No way. Don’t tell me I really jinxed myself. Where’s the dorm building?!

“Why make the campus this huge?!” I grumbled and resumed wandering aimlessly.

As I roamed, lost and desperate, I spotted a girl in reception attire talking to a freshman. Hope rekindled, I rushed over, tapped her shoulder, and said, “Senior, can I ask…?”

“Who is it?! Can’t you see I’m busy charming this junior?!” The voice was chillingly familiar.

The girl turned around, her frown melting into a bright smile. “Xia Tian!”

Forcing a grin, I replied, “Sister Lin…”

This plot is so infuriating! If I ever find out who the writer is, I’ll strangle them!
