Chapter 131: Tian Fan Resolves the Crisis

The moon in the sky was full and beautiful, but no one had the mind to admire it. The atmosphere in the small village was tense to the extreme. Tian Fan stepped out from the crowd, coldly eyeing the group in front of him.

“Good lad, well done!”

Behind him, Old Feng leaned on a wooden cane and shouted loudly, drawing eye rolls from the crowd. Though everyone agreed in their hearts that Tian Fan was brave, they were also deeply worried for him. No one dared to voice their support so boldly.

“Child, come back! You can’t handle them!”

The villagers were simple and kindhearted. They didn’t want to see Tian Fan die at the hands of these people, so they shouted in desperation. Tian Fan paused, glanced back, then looked up at the sky.

“Zi Ying… if you were here, you wouldn’t just stand by and watch these kind people suffer either, right?”

“Heh, here comes someone looking to die…”

The black-clad general sneered and handed the woman in yellow over to his subordinate. “Watch her closely. Today, this general is going to make an example out of someone. Let’s see who dares to challenge me again after this.”

Smack!

Tian Fan walked forward unhurriedly, lifting his hand for a light slap — yet the force behind it was monstrous. In terms of physical strength alone, perhaps only those at the Ascension Secret Realm could match him now.

“You—!”

The general was slapped into the air, blood gushing from his mouth. Had Tian Fan not held back, that single slap could have killed thousands like him.

“This…”

The villagers were stunned, staring at the white-robed young man in disbelief. They had never imagined that Tian Fan, who seemed so ordinary, actually knew martial arts — and could swat away the notoriously fierce general of this region with just one slap.

Clang!

The sound of a sword being drawn rang out. The general was, in fact, a cultivator at the mid-Foundation Establishment stage, and his sword gleamed with a faint green aura.

Boom!

But something completely unexpected happened — Tian Fan merely waved his hand, sending out a gust of wind that blew the man straight into the air.

His pace didn’t change. Without even glancing at the black-armored general, he continued toward the two soldiers holding the woman in yellow.

“Kill him!”

The black-armored general shouted. A squad of soldiers charged forward. These were seasoned warriors who had seen countless battles. Their unified killing intent struck fear into the villagers.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Each attacker was slapped away by Tian Fan. Though he refrained from using lethal force — these were just ordinary folk to him — they couldn’t possibly stop his advance. Even the Yin-Yang Sect with ten thousand years of legacy had fallen at his hands. In mere moments, the entire squad was sent flying, groaning in pain.

“Xiao Fan…”

The woman in yellow stared in astonishment at the white-robed youth before her, her teary eyes wide. Not long ago, she had been teaching this clumsy boy how to throw beans. Back then, he kept messing up — but now, she couldn’t believe he was the same person.

“Come on, let’s go home. Your grandfather must be worried…”

Tian Fan smiled gently, helping her up from the ground.

“My granddaughter, my precious granddaughter…”

The old man’s eyes were cloudy with age, but when he saw He Ying brought back safely by Tian Fan, tears of joy spilled from his eyes.

“Thank you, thank you!”

The old man’s voice trembled as he dropped to his knees with a thud.

“Please don’t do this, sir — you’ll shorten my life like this!”

Tian Fan hurried to lift the old man up and supported him as they slowly walked back. He Ying’s younger brother was still lying on the ground, being tended to by several villagers. Seeing his sister safe and sound, he grinned — only for the movement to tug on his wounds, making him cough up blood again.

“You tried to protect your sister — you’re a real man.”

Tian Fan crouched down with a light smile and extended his right hand. A faint silver glow appeared, and with a gentle swipe over Er Douzi’s chest, his injuries were healed.

“Huh? It doesn’t hurt anymore… I can move!”

Feeling the change in his body, Er Douzi was amazed. He looked at Tian Fan with admiration. “Brother Tian Fan, are you an immortal? You just touched me, and I’m all better!”

Old Feng watched from behind, leaning on his cane with a faint smile. The villagers were even more shocked — no ordinary person could possibly do something like that.

“Hehe, I’m no immortal. I just know a little martial arts and some healing techniques,” Tian Fan said with a chuckle.

“Brother Tian Fan, since you know martial arts, you should teach them a lesson! They’re terrible! Every year, they make us hand over so much grain, some uncles and aunties don’t even have food for themselves.”

Er Douzi scowled at the group of soldiers.

“Hehe, alright then. I’ll teach them a lesson they won’t forget.”

Tian Fan stood up and walked toward the soldiers.

“Y-You! What do you want to do?!”

The black-clad general stammered, his fear evident.

“Apologize. Then leave immediately. Never step foot in this village again!”

Tian Fan’s voice was icy. He had no interest in wasting words on this type of person.

“What? Apologize? Impossible!”

“Apologize — my patience is running thin.”

Tian Fan said coldly, slapping him again. Though the force was minimal, the black-armored general still coughed up blood, teeth flying from his mouth.

“You… do you know who I am?!”

The man tried to sound threatening, but his voice trembled.

“I don’t care who you are. Apologize, then get lost.”

“Outrageous! I am a Great General of the Sun Empire! If you do this to me, you’ll die without a grave!”

The man barked, bluster hiding fear.

“A Great General? Even your emperor isn’t worth a glance!”

Tian Fan snorted and kicked him like a sandbag. The man flew ten meters before crashing to the ground, screaming like a slaughtered pig.

“You dare do this to me?! You’re asking for death! I’ll report this to the emperor — your entire clan will be executed!”

The general shouted, humiliated like never before.

“Annoying.”

Tian Fan muttered coldly and kicked him again, sending him flying several more meters with another shriek.

“D-Don’t come any closer! I’ll apologize! I’ll pay compensation! I swear I won’t come back again!”

Terrified by the look in Tian Fan’s eyes, the general collapsed, begging for mercy.

“Not to me.”

Tian Fan said coldly. Though extremely reluctant, the black-clad general knelt before the villagers and said,

“I’m sorry, I was wrong. Please forgive me, everyone.”

“We’re sorry! We’ll never come back again. Please have mercy on us!”

One by one, the soldiers knelt down too, bowing their heads in apology.

Under the pressure of someone like Tian Fan — a true demon in their eyes — they completely lost their arrogance and begged pitifully for their lives.

“Get lost!”

The simple villagers were at a loss, having never witnessed such a scene. Seeing them like that, Tian Fan glared at the general. The group, as if receiving a pardon, scrambled to their feet and ran as fast as they could into the night.

“Leave the horses. Consider it compensation for all these years.”

Tian Fan stood calmly in the clearing.

The soldiers, too scared to argue, abandoned over two hundred horses and ran off stumbling and tumbling into the darkness — faster than rabbits, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
