Chapter 186: Hand Over That Nine-Tailed Fox

The one knocking was Mei’er. Sister Lin gave an awkward laugh and left my room, making way for Mei’er to enter.

With a playful smile, Mei’er looked at me and asked, “What were you and Sister Mengxin doing just now?”

Normally, the question wouldn’t have been a big deal, but given what I had just done with Sister Lin, the memory felt a bit… sinful. I stammered, unable to form a proper response.

Noticing the untouched orange juice Sister Lin had brought me, I quickly laughed and said, “Sister Lin just brought me some orange juice!”

“Since when has Sister Mengxin been so nice to you, Xia Tian?” Mei’er looked puzzled. After all, Sister Lin and I had never been on particularly good terms, let alone close enough for her to bring me drinks.

I forced a calm smile. “Who knows what’s gotten into her?” Then, swiftly changing the subject, I asked, “What brings you here?”

“Mei’er was bored…” She sighed, looking a bit helpless.

I blinked, then grinned. “How about I take you out for a walk?”

“Sure!” Mei’er beamed.

Right now, Sister Lin was probably busy checking if her chest had really gotten bigger, while Wang Ziyan, Tang Shuyao, and the others were exhausted after a long day of fun. That meant no one would follow us—finally, a chance for some alone time!

Holding Mei’er’s hand, I left the apartment and strolled around the campus.

The sun was setting, but the sky hadn’t completely darkened yet.

Shenghua University, jointly founded by the four great families, was ridiculously large. Even its artificial park was enormous—so big that you usually had to take a shuttle bus to get around. The school even had its own dedicated bus service.

But today was the weekend, and the bus drivers, like us, were off duty. So, Mei’er and I had no choice but to walk.

“You humans are truly blessed by the heavens, given so many advantages. We demons spend centuries just to cultivate a human form,” Mei’er sighed.

I looked at her and chuckled helplessly. “What’s gotten into you?”

“Nothing! Mei’er just felt like saying it!” She stuck out her tongue and laughed.

Truthfully, her words struck a chord in me. Demons spent a hundred years just to take human form, yet human cultivators envied immortals, striving to ascend to the heavens.

But demons who had never experienced the mortal world couldn’t possibly understand human sorrows.

“Xia Tian, what’s wrong?” Mei’er noticed my distraction and called out to me.

I snapped back to reality and smiled. “Nothing!” Then, taking her hand, I said, “Let’s go!”

“Boss!”

As we walked, someone shouted from behind. I didn’t even need to turn—only a few people called me “Boss,” and this voice was dripping with sleaziness. It had to be Lu Sen.

Sure enough, when I turned around, I saw Lu Sen jogging toward me, carrying a bag.

“What were you up to? All these bags?” I asked.

Scratching his head, Lu Sen grinned. “Got bored, so I went shopping!” Then, eyeing Mei’er, he smirked. “Boss, who’s this beauty? Your missus?”

“Missus?” Mei’er blinked, then shook her head. “Mei’er isn’t the missus. Mei’er is Xia Tian’s girlfriend!”

Lu Sen froze, then burst into laughter, clutching his stomach. “Oh man, I can’t—Sis-in-law is just too adorable!”

“You looking for a beating?” I glared at him, and Lu Sen immediately shut up.

He bowed dramatically to Mei’er. “Sis-in-law, my apologies!”

“Cut the crap,” I said irritably.

Then, I frowned. “Where are Third Brother and Fourth Brother? Why are you alone?”

Lu Sen’s face fell. “Those two bastards are loaded—one went home, and the other got dragged away by his old servant. Left me, the poor loser, all by myself!”

Hao Shuai lived in a luxury villa in the capital—clearly, his family was loaded. And Diao Sinan? From the moment he stepped into the dorm, it was obvious he came from money too.

Lu Sen might call himself a “loser,” but given his background, there was no way he got into Shenghua on merit alone. To buy your way in, your family had to be worth at least hundreds of millions, with solid connections to boot.

And despite his carefree attitude, Lu Sen’s clothes were all high-end brands.

Looking at it now, every guy in Dorm 213 had something unusual about them.

“Sis-in-law, you thirsty?” Lu Sen suddenly asked Mei’er.

She shook her head. “No, thanks.”

Lu Sen grinned, then pulled me aside and whispered, “Boss, where the hell did you find a girl with a l0li face, a mature body, and a pure heart?”

“None of your d*mn business!” I snapped—though, admittedly, the description fit Mei’er perfectly.

“This defies logic!” Lu Sen stared at me in disbelief. “How the hell did a sleazebag like you land such an innocent, adorable girlfriend?” Before I could react, he darted away, laughing.

“You asking for a beating?!” By the time I recovered, he was already out of reach.

“It’s still bright out—I won’t be a third wheel!” Lu Sen was surprisingly considerate—but before I could appreciate it, he suddenly shoved something into Mei’er’s hands. “Sis-in-law, here’s a cucumber! You can play with it when you’re bored!” Then he bolted.

This b*stard had a death wish, daring to mess with me like that!

“D*mn it!” I snatched the cucumber from Mei’er and hurled it at Lu Sen’s retreating figure.

But just as it was about to hit him, someone stepped into its path—and the cucumber smacked right into them.

“What the hell?!” The person glared at me, annoyed.

Guiltily, I said, “Uh… sorry, man! That was meant for—” I pointed where Lu Sen had been, but the little shit had already vanished.

“Meant for who?!” The guy strode toward me. At a disadvantage, I had no choice but to apologize. “Look, bro, I’m really sorry!”

“Sorry’s not enough!” He raised an eyebrow.

Oh, so now he was pushing it? It wasn’t like I’d aimed for him—he’d walked into it!

And when I threw it, Lu Sen had been the only one there. How was I supposed to know this guy would pop up out of nowhere?

Frowning, I said impatiently, “Then what do you want?”

The man grinned, then pointed at Mei’er and enunciated slowly:

“Hand over that nine-tailed fox beside you!”
