Chapter 21: Female Immortal

The immense force of ten thousand jun had a significant impact. Yu Ci could no longer control his internal injuries and a mouthful of fresh blood choked in his throat. However, he gritted his teeth and forced the blood back down, while his entire strength burned in a roaring explosion during the moment of transition between old and new powers. This energy merged with the unique pulsations of his primordial spirit and transformed into a dazzling flame sword.

At this moment, a force also feedback from the Nine Yang Talisman Sword, instantly merging into the encompassing pulsations of his primordial spirit. Yu Ci felt as though his palm was burning. At this moment, what he held was not a wooden sword hilt, but a long spear entirely formed from blazing flames!

The fiery light tore through the void, emitting an ear-piercing screech. With another “clang,” Yu Ci’s mind jolted, realizing that he had still missed the target—it was not the most vulnerable part of the demon beast, its eyes as planned.

“…But what did I hit?”

In his confusion, his hand was empty again. The sensation of the Nine Yang Talisman Sword vanished from his palm as if it had evaporated in the sudden high temperature.

Simultaneously, all surrounding sounds vanished. The suddenly silent space seemed filled with the demon beast’s incredulous emotions, so intense that it was almost comical.

The next moment, a muffled thunder exploded in Yu Ci’s ears.

He finally understood who the culprit was behind the disturbance in the Sky Rift Valley last night!

With a “buzz,” Yu Ci faced this roar up close, feeling as if he were struck on the head by a giant hammer weighing ten thousand pounds. For a moment, he even thought his brain might splatter. His body was thrown backward uncontrollably, crashing into the rock wall at the end of the slope before finally coming to a stop.

Even in such a situation, Yu Ci forced his eyes open. Through his blurred vision, he saw that after the roar sent him flying, the demon beast slightly lowered its body and assumed a posture as if to strike again.

Yu Ci did not want to end up like Hu Ke. He spat out the blood foam in his mouth, leaned against the cliff wall, and struggled to stand up. But now, unarmed and injured, what could he do against a creature emerging from the demon prison of the Yellow Springs?

Right, that kid Ye Tu… wasn’t he already crushed by the demon beast?

As this thought crossed his mind, the demon beast leaped up without any warning. It still exceeded Yu Ci’s line of sight, but the next moment, it seemed to be struck hard by a whip. Its massive body jolted backward, and then it transformed into a faint smoke, blending into the swirling mist.

Yu Ci stared in shock.

At that moment, the sky above suddenly brightened. Yu Ci abruptly turned his head, and in a flash, he saw the canyon mist parting from high above, splitting into a slender gap, through which a faint light passed. It seemed to arrive before the demon beast had even jumped into the mist. Only then did Yu Ci hear a subtle, otherworldly humming sound.

A piercing scream immediately rang out from the mist, followed by the mist parting. The demon beast’s body jumped out from within, then lunged back in. In that instant, Yu Ci saw its head and seven orifices were splattered with blood and twisted into an ugly shape before disappearing again.

Yu Ci finally realized that someone had attacked the demon beast, and it was undoubtedly a formidable individual.

He was indeed curious about the identity of the newcomer, but that was not the focus. As soon as he recovered, he rushed over to check on Ye Tu. He was relieved to find the boy’s breathing was still relatively strong, and his internal organs were stable. Only his left upper arm, left shoulder blade, collarbone, and two ribs were broken by the demon beast’s strike—these were all treatable injuries.

It seemed more likely that the boy was simply knocked unconscious by the pain.

He took a few deep breaths to steady his trembling hands, caused by exhaustion, and prepared to reset the boy’s bones. Just as his fingers touched the clothing, he suddenly froze.

At that moment, a faint fragrance touched his nose, pervading his senses and lingering in the air.

A moment later, someone softly spoke near his ear, “May I treat the wounds of my young disciple?”

Young disciple?

Yu Ci steadied his mind and turned to look. He saw a light yellow silk dress, with a piece of jade hanging from the top, weighting down the skirt’s hem. Black silk tassels swayed in the wind, seemingly the source of the fragrance.

Following the tassels upwards, Yu Ci’s gaze instinctively followed the narrowing curve and saw a plain satin ribbon gently tied around the waist, with a layer of mist-like gauze draped over it. The gauze was woven with intricate and delicate patterns, though he could not discern the details at a glance.

Yu Ci didn’t want to stare too long, but the scene before him was fleeting until he met a pair of clear, lake-like eyes.

His mood was somewhat complex, but upon meeting those bright eyes, all inexplicable thoughts vanished, for in those clear eyes, the occasional ripples of water resembled the cold, radiant sword Qi flowing on a precious sword—seemingly dazzling but containing a power that could chill one’s heart.

The female cultivator had just mentioned “my young disciple,” so she must be Ye Tu’s master?

Yu Ci realized that during their time together, apart from the seemingly talented “A Chi,” Ye Tu had never mentioned anything about his sect. This was the first time he learned about this female master.

He had no doubts about the truth of her words. In fact, given the strength the female cultivator had just demonstrated, if she wanted to harm them, a single strike would suffice without any effort.

Yu Ci stood up and turned around, his height surpassing that of the newcomer. However, he slightly lowered his head, raised his hand to his forehead, and bowed, expressing his gratitude: “The life-saving grace will be repaid in the future. I am Yu Ci. May I ask your esteemed name?”

Addressing her as “fellow daoist” might have been a bit abrupt, but the female cultivator didn’t mind and simply responded, “Ye Bin from the Eastern Sea.”

With Yu Ci’s limited knowledge of cultivation, he could not possibly know the reputation of this female cultivator in the cultivation world. He merely repeated the name in his mind twice, thinking about how to respond next, when the female cultivator spoke first:

“My young disciple, being willful, left home secretly for a distant journey and encountered this calamity. Although I traced the path and arrived, I was still a step too late. If not for your life-saving protection, the consequences would be unimaginable. Ye Bin thanks you!”

The female cultivator’s tone remained gentle and did not become distant due to differences in status or indifferent due to differences in cultivation level. She did not mention her gratitude for being saved but rather thanked Yu Ci for taking care of Ye Tu. She seemed to be a very kind person.

But Yu Ci felt that her attitude was as clear as her eyes and was not as gentle and soft as it appeared.

This was what one would call a high-level expert.

Yu Ci knew that it was absurd to expect to gain the same impression from her as from her disciple, so he didn’t mind much. Changing his attitude to that of dealing with a stranger, he said, “I am ashamed, my abilities are lacking…”

“Fellow daoist is too modest. To have slain the Rakshasa Demon King’s pet with Divine Connectivity cultivation and the ‘Heart-Binding Horn,’ how could it be considered lacking in ability?”

“Rakshasa Demon King? Heart-Binding Horn?”

Yu Ci was first puzzled, then he saw a broken horn on the messy ground, about five inches long, with a pale blue color. It appeared to be “half” of the three horns on the beast’s forehead. It turned out that the strike from the Nine Yang Talisman Sword had caused such an outcome. No wonder everyone was furious. But what was the Rakshasa Demon King?

Ye Bin did not explain; she walked up to the unconscious Ye Tu and crouched down to examine him.

Yu Ci hurriedly moved aside, but from his elevated position, he could also see the female cultivator’s fair neck and back. Her jade-like skin was visible through the thin, delicate fabric, radiating a dazzling light. This was an entrancing sight, but Yu Ci quickly shifted his gaze, not wanting to offend the beautiful woman in front of him in such a foolish manner.

However, it had to be said that since his birth, he had never seen anyone as beautiful as Ye Bin. Even the stunning Immortal Chi Yin of the past had lost much of her allure due to her cruel and bloodthirsty nature.

Ye Bin quickly completed her examination and said softly, “There is no major issue, but this Sky Rift Valley is not a place to stay for long. My coming down today might provoke dissatisfaction from many people… We should leave.”

Before Yu Ci could respond, he felt a slight chill, followed by a sensation of weightlessness. The scene before him blurred from clarity to obscurity, accompanied by mild dizziness. When all sensations faded and a warm light enveloped him, he looked up and saw the long-missed sun.

In just a flash, he had moved from the Sky Rift Valley, crossing a distance of twenty miles and three thousand zhang. The explosive sound of air bursting forth only then reached him, causing the sea of clouds to churn with rising and falling tides. He barely had time to be astonished by such miraculous power before being drawn to the new scenery before him.

Before him stood the female cultivator in her flowing dress and veil, standing gracefully with her back to the rolling misty sea. The pale yellow skirt reflected the sun’s rays, causing her to shine with a divine light. This scene was one Yu Ci feared he would never forget in his lifetime.

The celestial maiden in front of him was indeed a true celestial maiden!

He lowered his eyelids, using the skill of a seasoned liar to mask his slightly impolite thoughts, and instead asked, “FairyYe, has the demon beast been subdued?”

Under the sunlight, Ye Bin’s smile was even more captivating, yet there was a force controlling it, preventing it from being overly dazzling, adding a touch of subtle and restrained beauty. She shook her head, the only golden hairpin in her dark hair swaying:

“It’s not that easy. This beast was originally a pet of the Rakshasa Demon King, known as the ‘First Illusionist’ in the Blood Abyss Demon Manor. It was later abandoned and settled here. It would be one thing if it were something else, but it has long been in the company of the Rakshasa Demon King, imbued with the demon king’s magical power. Its inherent illusionary power can bewitch the soul, and even a celestial immortal could be misled if not careful… If the demon beast truly wanted to escape, I wouldn’t be able to stop it.”

This was the longest speech Ye Bin had made since her appearance. Yu Ci naturally gained more insight, but he felt there was a hint of something inexplicable in her words. As he pondered, his expression suddenly changed. Just as he was about to speak, the female cultivator suddenly smiled and exclaimed:

“Hit!”

With a muffled roar of “mrroooo,” Yu Ci felt a dizziness in his mind and was nearly blasted away by the shockwave. He steadied himself, not retreating a step, and looked up to see huge bubbles of blood-red gas boiling and rising from the edge of the cliff.
