Chapter 221: Negotiating the Price

“Qin Mengdie is awake!” I ran out of the hospital room and said excitedly.

Everyone, who had been looking worried, brightened up at my words. Their frowns vanished, and they all rushed into the room with excitement.

But… damn it! They just pushed past me! Ouch! And they’re still pushing! Hey, hey…

I was still shirtless. Although I didn’t feel particularly cold, it just seemed somewhat indecent.

“Need a shirt?” The swordsman suddenly appeared in front of me, smiling.

I was stunned. Shit! This guy read my mind again! It’s terrifying! I really need to be more careful from now on.

Seeing me nod, the swordsman took out a T-shirt and handed it to me.

Just as I reached out to take it, he pulled it back, smiled, and said, “Money!”

Damn! I’ve never seen such a stingy cultivator!

I took out ten yuan from my pocket, put it in his hand, and snatched the shirt.

“Hey! Only ten?!” The swordsman said, looking displeased.

Putting on the shirt, I said impatiently, “That’s all the money I have on me. Take it or leave it!”

“This shirt is woven from heavenly silk. Ten yuan wouldn’t even buy you a thread!” The swordsman grew anxious.

This lunatic is trying to scam me again! Heavenly silk? Bullshit! Does he think I’m Pan An or something?

Ignoring the swordsman, I walked straight into the room to check on Qin Mengdie.

Qin Mengdie was surrounded by people asking her questions, but she just looked confused.

“Mengdie, how are you feeling?” Sister Lin asked, looking at her.

Qin Mengdie looked puzzled and said, “I’m fine.”

“Xiao Die!” Qin Shousheng called out her name.

Qin Mengdie paused, then looked at Qin Shousheng and surprisingly smiled. “You’re here!”

Huh? Didn’t Tang Shuyao say that Qin Mengdie didn’t get along with her father? Why do they seem so harmonious?

Was Tang Shuyao deliberately lying to me? That little girl is mischievous, but Qin Mengdie’s behavior that time seemed genuine…

Just then, Qin Shousheng’s phone rang. He answered it, stayed silent for a moment, then said, “Okay, I’ll head back right away!”

After hanging up, he smiled at Qin Mengdie and said, “Since you’re alright, Xiao Die, I’ll take my leave. Take care of yourself!” Then, he glanced at us and added, “You’ve made some good friends.”

“Yeah, yeah! Sister Mengxin and the others are so nice!” Tang Shuyao said excitedly, before suddenly pouting and glaring at me. “Except for this pervert!”

“Hey! Who are you calling a pervert? Have I ever harassed you?” This Tang Shuyao, just like Sister Lin, always opposes me and never filters her words. Like last time—how could a young girl talk about something like jerking off so casually!

Ever since I met Mei’er, to maintain my gentlemanly image, I haven’t done that in a long time, okay!

“Hmph!” Tang Shuyao snorted and went off to chat with Qin Mengdie.

Qin Shousheng gave me a helpless smile, but what did he mean by secretly giving me a thumbs-up?

“Alright, I need to get back to the company. You all chat happily!” Qin Shousheng said and walked out of the room.

I followed behind him. As a junior, it’s only right to see an elder off.

But as soon as Qin Shousheng stepped out, the swordsman stopped him.

Frowning, the swordsman said with some displeasure, “I helped you wake her up, and now you’re leaving without paying? Trying to skip out on the bill?”

Qin Shousheng paused, then said apologetically, “My apologies, senior. I was so excited I forgot about this. How much do you require?”

“Easy!” The swordsman’s frown vanished as he smiled and raised his index finger.

Qin Shousheng asked: “Ten million?”

The swordsman shook his head.

Seeing this, Qin Shousheng asked again, “A hundred million?”

The swordsman was taken aback but still shook his head.

I’d had enough. I said to the swordsman, “Hey! Don’t go too far!”

“Adults are talking, kid. Scram!” The swordsman glared at me.

That glare wasn’t ordinary—it carried a pressure of spiritual force that forced me back several steps before I could steady myself.

Damn! This asshole really shows no mercy when he’s serious.

“Does the senior require a billion?” Qin Shousheng asked again.

The swordsman still shook his head. Damn it! This guy is really putting on airs! He woke Qin Mengdie up with just a few moves, and now even a billion isn’t enough for him?

Then the swordsman suddenly spoke up: “Let me be clear. I want your Qin family’s heirloom treasure—the Nine Dragons Soul Suppressing Pearl from the Nine Dragons Playing with a Pearl!”

“What?!” Qin Shousheng looked shocked, then said in a negotiating tone, “Senior, since you mentioned it’s our family’s heirloom treasure, I really can’t…”

“It’s not for me. Giving that pearl to Xia Tian—surely you wouldn’t refuse, right?” The swordsman said with a smile.

Hearing this, I was confused. For me? After all this time, he was actually bargaining for something for me? According to him, we aren’t even close!

But upon hearing this, Qin Shousheng broke into a smile. “Since the senior is asking for Xia Tian, I have no problem giving it to him.”

Hey, hey! Weren’t you just saying it’s a family heirloom? How come you’re agreeing so readily now?

Seeing my puzzled expression, the swordsman laughed. “That pearl will be yours sooner or later. Actually, even if you hadn’t asked, I would’ve saved that little girl surnamed Qin!”

“Why do you say that?” I looked at the swordsman, confused.

The swordsman smiled. “The cause and effect of events—how could they be explained in just a few words?”

Damn! He’s putting on the act of a profound expert again!

“However…” The swordsman suddenly changed his tone and smiled. “I never do business at a loss. The price for saving someone still has to be paid! I only want this much!” As he spoke, he raised his index finger again.

“Hey! Haven’t you had enough fun? This gag is only funny once, or readers will think we’re padding the word count!” I said irritably, glaring at the swordsman.

What kind of person is this! We’re already in VIP chapters. If we keep padding, we’ll get roasted!

Before the swordsman could respond, Qin Shousheng said, “How about I give you a hundred million now, senior? Would that be acceptable?”

“I only need one yuan. Not a cent more, not a cent less!” The swordsman said, shaking his head.

Oh, for heaven’s sake! I have to curse here! After all that, he only wants one yuan! Is he messing with us?

Qin Shousheng was also stunned, unsure whether to laugh or cry.

The swordsman seemed impatient. “You’re not trying to welch on the deal, are you?”

“I’ll pay that one yuan on Uncle Qin’s behalf!” I smiled wryly, took a one-yuan coin from my pocket, and placed it in the swordsman’s hand.

The swordsman took the money and said, “Didn’t you say you only had ten yuan? Hurry up and pay me for that heavenly silk T-shirt!”

“It’s gone! This one yuan is all I have left. Take it or leave it!” I played dumb. Besides, that heavenly silk T-shirt was definitely a scam!

The swordsman shook his head helplessly. “Fine, but at least I made back the money for the hawthorn pills.”

Damn! So that Nine Revolutions Soul Returning Pill really was just a hawthorn pill!

Goblin: I was contacted by a certain “KR Webnovel Org” yesterday. They were the ones who took down the Patreon page, the discord channel, and probably will take down the BMC page in the future as well. That’s why effective immediately, I will be cancelling and removing all the KR projects on Goblinslate. I should’ve done it a lot sooner, but I was being greedy, and greed is not a good thing. Fair to say that I deserved it.

Now, as for what I am going to do. I am going to go back to the basics, I will be sticking with CN webnovels (that is not from Q!dan) from now on. There will hopefully be a redesign of the site in a month. There will be another Patreon and BMC (if they take it down) page soon as well. Thank you for the support!
This is the link to the the new Discord Server.
