Chapter 250: Dealing with Chen Yifeng

Due to the effects of the Healing Pill, Fatty’s injuries healed remarkably quickly. After just one night, he had absorbed all the medicinal properties, and while he wasn’t completely recovered, he was almost there.

“Where is Young Master Chen right now?” I asked Hao Shuai, looking at him.

Hao Shuai had stayed up all night investigating the Chen father and son duo. After gathering information for the entire night, he managed to find out everything except for how much hair the Chen family had left. He even knew which women the Chen father and son would pursue next.

After hearing my question, Hao Shuai replied, “Young Master Chen’s real name is Chen Yifeng. He spent the night with a girl, so he should be heading back to university this morning.”

“At university?” I repeated, then said, “Let’s head there right now!”

“Okay!” Hao Shuai agreed, and we called Fatty up together.

Fatty was surprised by how quickly he had healed and bombarded me with questions. I didn’t provide too many explanations, just brushed him off.

This time, it was only me, Zhang Yu, and Fatty going to his university. As for Hao Shuai, he was off to deal with matters concerning Chen’s father. It was clear that Chen Yifeng’s father wasn’t a good person either. From the investigation materials, it was evident that Chen’s father had done quite a few unscrupulous things.

Take the recent drought, for example. The local farmers suffered significant losses, and while the government allocated funds for disaster relief, a large portion of that money ended up in Chen’s father’s pockets.

It’s one thing to be greedy for government money, but to embezzle the funds meant for the lives of ordinary people is utterly reprehensible.

This was just one incident among many; any one of them could ruin Chen’s father’s reputation, and he would definitely lose his position as deputy mayor. However, having evidence was one thing, but having a powerful person to report it was another. Hao Shuai was just the right fit for that, so I instructed him to go find Mayor Zhao, who happened to be my Big Sister’s father.

As for Chen Yifeng, his misdeeds were even more numerous; he truly surpassed his father in wickedness.

To be honest, if Chen Yifeng hadn’t crossed paths with Fatty, none of this would concern me, and I wouldn’t have bothered to intervene. People often say I’m cold-blooded, but in this society, very few care about meddling in others’ affairs. Those who do, even out of goodwill, often get labeled as fools.

Yet, I suddenly realized that I had meddled quite a bit myself… I wondered if this was what they meant by the inherent goodness of human nature.

Before long, we arrived at the entrance of Fatty’s university. The facilities at public universities were indeed lacking compared to private ones, and even the main gate was hard to accept.

As we tried to enter, the security guard stopped us, stating it was class time and we needed to register.

With no time to spare, I slipped the guard a few small bills, and that was enough to let us in without any registration.

Sometimes, I couldn’t help but marvel at how money truly felt like a universal key…

Chen Yifeng probably wasn’t in class, considering he was the son of a deputy mayor. I figured he wasn’t attending university for a diploma or to learn knowledge; being a second-generation official, he could easily get into a good university. He likely just went to pass the time and chase after girls.

Since I guessed he wasn’t in class, he was probably in the dormitory. Staying in the dorm was quite convenient for him to conduct his affairs. Chen Yifeng was well-known at university, and it didn’t take long for us to locate his dormitory.

“Bang!” I kicked the door open and shouted, “Who called for Chen Yifeng?”

There were four people in Chen Yifeng’s dormitory: one was sleeping, and the other three were playing games. My sudden entrance startled them.

One of them, looking a bit annoyed, glared at me and said, “Damn it, can’t you knock before coming in? You scared me into losing a life!”

As soon as he finished speaking, Zhang Yu walked over and slapped him across the face. “What the hell are you pretending to be? Try saying another word!”

I shook my head helplessly; Zhang Yu was still as impulsive as ever. However, I seemed to be just as impulsive myself—after all, the door could have been opened with a hand. The man was stunned by the slap, and with Zhang Yu’s rough demeanor, the others around him didn’t dare to speak up.

“We’re here looking for Chen Yifeng. Is he in the dorm?” I asked with a smile. These people were just Chen Yifeng’s roommates; there was no need to get physical with them. The man who had just been slapped shook his head. “He’s not here. He doesn’t come back to the dorm often.”

“Oh, I see!” I nodded and then turned to Fatty. “Fatty, go identify him. See which one is Chen Yifeng.” I still felt uneasy; Hao Shuai had already mentioned that Chen Yifeng was back at university. After a night of partying, he wouldn’t be going anywhere else but the dorm.

Fatty looked around and then said to me, “He really doesn’t seem to be here.”

“Sorry to bother you all!” I said, giving Zhang Yu a glance before leaving Chen Yifeng’s dorm.

Zhang Yu had somehow lit a cigarette and grumbled, “Damn it! Now that idiot doesn’t know where he is; how are we supposed to get revenge for Fatty?”

“Do you think he knew we were coming today and hid?” Fatty asked from the side.

I shook my head, dismissing the idea. “No way. That thug’s top priority is definitely to go to the hospital. He wouldn’t have time to call Chen Yifeng. Chen Yifeng wouldn’t get the news that quickly.”

“Then where do you think that idiot went?” Zhang Yu said irritably.

I shook my head helplessly. “I don’t know that either.”

“Damn!” Zhang Yu spat down the stairs and looked at me with annoyance. “So what now?”

“We wait…” Before I could finish my sentence, I heard someone shouting from downstairs, “Who spat down here? Don’t you have eyes?!”

Zhang Yu, frustrated about not being able to find Chen Yifeng and looking for an outlet for his anger, leaned out to look downstairs and shouted, “What? What’s wrong with me spitting? If you’re not happy, come and try me!”

Fatty quickly stopped Zhang Yu and said to the person downstairs, “Sorry, classmate, my friend…” Before Fatty could finish his sentence, he suddenly gritted his teeth and said, “Chen Yifeng!”

“Oh, so it’s you, you fat b@stard? Your recovery ability is pretty good, huh? You can walk so soon!” The voice from below was laced with mockery.

Without saying another word, I could tell from Fatty’s tone that the person downstairs was indeed Chen Yifeng. However, judging by his tone, he didn’t seem to take Fatty seriously. It seemed that Chen Yifeng hadn’t received any news, which was just right; I didn’t have to worry about him running away.

“Let’s go down!” I said and started walking downstairs. After spending more than two years together, Fatty and Zhang Yu understood what I was thinking and followed me without hesitation.

Not only had Chen Yifeng not run away, but he also came forward to meet us. Upon seeing the three of us, he smiled and said, “You even found helpers; is the beating you took not enough? Or was your home not smashed up badly enough? By the way, your girlfriend’s skills are quite impressive; she really had me enjoying myself!”

“You!” Fatty was so angry he couldn’t speak.

Neither Zhang Yu nor I liked to waste time talking, so we went straight to the point.

“Smack!”

I moved quickly and slapped Chen Yifeng across the face, hitting him hard enough to knock out a few of his teeth.

Just as the slap landed, before Chen Yifeng could regain his balance, Zhang Yu kicked him right in the chest. Zhang Yu didn’t hold back at all; that kick sent Chen Yifeng tumbling down the stairs.
