Wait a minute, it seems like I took advantage of the situation. Thankfully, it’s not too bad.
“Forget what just happened, okay?” Xu Xin’s face suddenly turned cold, startling me. Could she be angry?
“Nothing happened just now, you understand?” Xu Xin didn’t say anything further, just quietly ate her fries, occasionally sipping her cola. After a long time, her icy demeanor began to thaw.
As I was pondering this, Xu Xin suddenly stood up and blurted out, “I’m done. Goodbye!”
She walked away before I could even think about chasing after her, but I decided against it.
After all, who wouldn’t be upset after being k!ssed out of the blue, especially the school beauty?
Explaining now would only make things more complicated. It’s better to wait until she calms down and then apologize.
Women are really hard to understand.
Xu Xin left, so there was no reason for me to stay. I asked the server for a bag, packed the leftovers, and took the bus back home.
I threw the food on the table, feeling excited. Compared to the awkwardness of dining with Xu Xin, I was more interested in the fake spirit stone.
I took the jade pendant out of my pocket. Damn! This thing is really ugly!
Whoa, what’s going on? As I was examining the stone, I noticed a small ring on my finger.
Isn’t this the wooden ring? Damn, I forgot to return it to the shopkeeper.
Judging by its appearance and size, it probably wasn’t worth much. Maybe the shopkeeper saw it and decided to give it to me as a small gift.
Even though I thought that, I still casually placed it on the table.
“Mei’er, come out!” I flicked the necklace around my neck twice, and Mei’er appeared before me in human form.
I handed the jade pendant to Mei’er with a smile and said, “Refine it and see if you can unlock your third tail!”
I felt conflicted. I didn’t know what Mei’er’s strength would be like if she unlocked her third tail. If she could unlock it and leave my side, I hoped that day would never come.
But I was also afraid that if Mei’er wasn’t strong enough, she might be captured by someone like that crazy old man. Even though I, Xia Tian, am selfish, I can’t restrict others’ freedom for my own sake. So, I decided to let Mei’er refine the jade pendant’s energy to break the seal.
Mei’er seemed surprised by my decision. She paused, her eyes a bit red. Just as I was about to comfort her, Mei’er smiled and said, “You big idiot, this fake spirit stone doesn’t work on me. Only humans can absorb its energy.”
“Really…” I felt a bit disappointed, but more excited. Was I being selfish? No, if I had enough strength, I could protect Mei’er even if her seal wasn’t broken!
“Sit cross-legged now, hang the jade pendant around your neck, and follow the breathing method I taught you to circulate your True Qi.” Mei’er knelt on the sofa and instructed me.
Following Mei’er’s instructions, I sat on the ground with the jade pendant around my neck, slightly parted my lips, and began to channel my True Qi.
Wait, I haven’t cleaned the house yet, right? Will my pants get dirty? As I started to daydream, Mei’er’s voice came through, “Focus your mind!”
“Hehe…” I laughed dryly, calming my mind and slowly channeling my True Qi to absorb the jade pendant’s energy.
Sure enough, as soon as my True Qi touched the jade pendant, a stream of thick energy seeped out from its cracks.
The energy entered my body through my nose, circulated throughout, and finally settled in my dantian. My whole body felt incredibly comfortable, like taking a sauna right after a run, with a sexy masseuse using her soft hands to massage me all over.
Even though I’m still a virgin, this feeling was way better than anything sexual! Plus, with that, you have to move your hips back and forth for pleasure, but here, you just sit and breathe.
I greedily absorbed the jade pendant’s energy. As time passed, I felt sweaty and sticky all over.
“Awesome!” Just as I was about to stop and take a shower, a sudden change occurred.
“Ah!!!” A sharp pain pierced my brain. Mei’er, seeing my condition, asked worriedly, “Xia Tian, what’s wrong?”
I curled up on the ground, the intense pain in my head making it almost impossible to speak. I could only moan in agony.
“Xia Tian, don’t scare Mei’er!” Mei’er was anxious, but I couldn’t respond. It felt like my head was about to explode, but it never did, just kept swelling and torturing me.
“Hahaha! I, the Blood Demon Patriarch, am finally free!” Just as I was about to pass out, an old, raspy voice echoed in my mind, and I blacked out…
But in what seemed like the next second, I woke up. The pain was completely gone, as if it had never happened. Was it all a hallucination?
“What a powerful soul! Heaven is kind to me. Just as I awakened, I received such a great supplement!” The eerie, aged voice appeared again.
I looked up incredulously. A ragged old man with red hair and a long beard stood before me. Damn! What a fashion statement. I was in a dark space, not my home.
“Who are you?” I nervously asked the fashion-forward old man.
This dark space seemed familiar. It should be the so-called Purple Mansion, but not Mei’er’s, as she wasn’t here. Only this self-proclaimed Blood Demon Patriarch was.
“Me?” The old man raised his eyebrows and laughed, then suddenly stopped, glaring at me with a sinister look, “I’m the one who will send you to your death!” He then turned into a blood shadow and lunged at me.
“Damn! That’s not fair!” In novels, don’t they always talk more before attacking the protagonist? Why is he attacking me right away? I had no time to think, dodging desperately.
In such a situation, who cares about dignity? Surviving is all that matters!
From the old man’s words, I understood he wanted to devour my soul to strengthen his own. But where the hell did this old man come from?
“Kid! Huff… huff… if you’ve got guts, stop running!” The old man panted, hands on his knees. I wasn’t doing any better, also exhausted, and replied, “Stop running? Am I stupid?”
We had been chasing each other in this dark space for a while. I was excited to find that the old man’s speed wasn’t much faster than mine. I narrowly escaped his attacks several times. It seems that age affects both mortals and cultivators.
But now, I was nearly out of energy. Although the old man seemed just as tired, I felt I wouldn’t last long before he caught me.
Mei’er, where are you? Save me! I cried out in my heart, but Mei’er never appeared.
“Kid, let’s make a deal, okay? Stop running.” The old man plopped down, trying to negotiate. I also sat down, “If you stop chasing, I won’t run.” I tried to act calm, but my body remained tense.
“Fine, I won’t chase, and you don’t run!” The old man replied, seemingly straightforward.
“That’s more like it!” I responded, but I was thinking about where this old man came from.
Considering everything, he must have come from the jade pendant. As I absorbed its energy, the seal weakened, and he escaped. Needing to devour souls to regain strength, he took advantage of my distraction.
“Let’s see where you run now!” The old man suddenly shouted, turning into a blood shadow and charging at me.
I had anticipated this, so I dodged quickly.
“Didn’t you say you wouldn’t run?” The old man seemed furious, his already spiky hair standing even more on end.
“Damn it! Didn’t you say you wouldn’t chase? Do you think I’m stupid? How can someone your age be so naive? Even pigs are smarter than you!” I panted, cursing at the old man. I didn’t care; this guy was too frustrating!
Maybe I got carried away, but I kept cursing, “Your face is sophisticated, but your IQ is so simple! And…”
Before I could finish, the old man went berserk, “Ah! You brat, I’ll slice you to pieces even if it costs me my soul power!”
He clenched his fists, veins popping, eyes red, body trembling. “Damn! If you start foaming at the mouth, you’ll look like you have epilepsy. At your age, you should take care of your health!” I continued taunting him, but I was genuinely scared. He seemed really mad.
“Ahhh!” The old man screamed, forming a ball of fire in his hands. His face turned even paler, but he smirked sinisterly, looking at me like a dead man.
“Hmph!” The old man snorted and hurled the fireball at me.
“Damn! He’s serious!” I tried to dodge, but I realized my legs were weak! Damn! As I turned, my leg gave out, and I fell.
The fireball was just a few feet away.
At this moment, I had only one thought: “I’m done for!”
