Chapter 4: Nothing Happened (part 2)

That was what it meant to stay out of an incident.

But the problem was the embarrassment of receiving attention like this.

I wasn’t the kind of person to brazenly put on a stone face in such situations—damn it.

Involuntarily, I returned to my seat, enduring the sweat trickling down my back. It was still difficult to maintain a blunt expression, even after training as a butler.

“That… Thanks for catching me, Kim,” Amelia said.

“This is fine,” I replied calmly, straightening my posture.

The people around us began whispering again.

“Look at that… What kind of special relationship do you think they have?”

“Kim-kun, you’re always considerate of Miss Iori, aren’t you?”

“Kyaaah! Could it be a family connection?”

“They say Miss Iori takes a limousine home every day. Is Kim involved in that too?”

Seriously, these guys!

“Can you please stop spreading such groundless rumors?!” Amelia lightly scolded the students.

When she raised her voice, her usually soft, flowing hair seemed to rise slightly in agitation. It was oddly cute.

I stared blankly at her for a moment before averting my gaze. Watching her for too long would only lead to more misunderstandings.

“Miss Iori, unlike other students, Kim seems to only care about you!”

“Right, right! You’ve been getting love letters since the start of the semester. Even when that male student from another class confessed to you, Kim stepped in to stop it!”

“Now’s the time to reveal the truth! What is your relationship with Kim?!”

“Ugh… Really! There’s nothing between us! It’s not like that, not at all…!!”

The blonde girl glanced at me with plaintive eyes before turning her head away.

“Come on, everyone. Let’s stop this, shall we? Miss Iori is clearly uncomfortable,” someone intervened.

The one who put an end to the relentless interrogation of the female students was none other than the protagonist—Natsuki Ryunosuke!

If I’d intervened, it would’ve only fueled the fire, but he had skillfully dispersed the attention himself. I was relieved.

“Ryunosuke-kun!”

“Yes, you’re right. That kind of questioning must’ve been troubling for Miss Iori.”

“Iori-san, sorry!”

One of the female students clasped their hands together in apology, and the subject finally shifted.

As I sat back down, I mulled over everything again.

The more I thought about it, the stranger it felt.

Usually, when someone gets transported into another world, incidents unfold based on their presence, right?

At least, that’s how it went in other novels. The protagonist’s arrival typically set off a chain of events aligned with their circumstances.

Yet, after entering the school, a whole month had passed without anything noteworthy happening. Not a single event—not even a minor one!

Sure, Amelia’s occasional blushes were endearing and entertaining to witness, but what puzzled me more was the lack of events involving Ryunosuke or the other heroines.

Could it be that this world wasn’t progressing as expected? Was something off about its timeline?

While I pondered these thoughts, Ryunosuke approached me.

“Oh, Kim?”

“Yes, Natsuki?”

“Are you free after school by any chance?”

“Hmm.”

Before answering, I glanced at Amelia.

However, she wasn’t looking at me at all.

After all, I was merely a butler in the Lionheart family, and was a servant of the same household. Decisions like this weren’t entirely mine to make.

Usually, I could dodge such matters easily, but this time, the protagonist had directly involved himself.

An event seemed to be brewing, and I debated whether to ask for permission.

I didn’t have to think for long.

This was a romantic comedy world, right? Taking the plunge might not be so bad.

When my hesitation dragged on, Ryunosuke smiled brightly and said, “If it’s too much trouble, then later is fine—”

“I’ll try to make time,” I interrupted.

Shouldn’t I at least hear him out?

After sending Ryunosuke back to his seat, I approached Amelia and said, “Miss, can you spare a moment? I have something to discuss.”

“Huh? Oh, alright!” Amelia replied, reluctantly standing.

All eyes in the room immediately focused on us.

After leaving the classroom with Amelia, I led her to a quiet corner to talk.

“I’m sorry, Lady Amelia,” I began.

“There’s no need to apologize, Hyunjin. What’s this about? I told you to act autonomously unless something unusual happened at school. This might only lead to more misunderstandings with the other students…” she said, her tone tinged with concern.

Fortunately, she didn’t seem upset.

“Oh, it’s about this,” I explained, recounting how Ryunosuke had asked to meet after school and wanted to spend time together.

Amelia frowned slightly as she considered the situation.

“Hmm, that’s unusual. Normally, you’d be returning to the mansion, but… Alright. Get to know him better, then.”

Huh? Why?

I pondered her decision for a moment.

“However,” she added, “if you can, try to learn a little more about Natsuki-kun. His likes, dislikes… things like that.”

I sighed.

I’d thought as much.

Get More Chapters on Patreon: From now on, FSM Level 2 will become the CN WN Bundle. The price will remain the same which is $10. Also, the price for the KR WN Bundle will also be decreased to $10 to match this bundle.

With this I have gotten rid of the level system. The reason I am doing this, is because I plan to add more chapters to the $5 Patron tiers. Previously the readers got 2 advance chapters when they became a $5 Patron, but now I’ve increased the chapters they will get to at least 5 chapters and more. So the current updated tier system will work like this:

The Individual Tiers ($5) will give you access to 5 chapters or more.

The Bundle Tiers ($10) will give you access to all the chapters of CN or KR webnovels.

The Supreme Patron ($30) will give you access to all the webnovel chapters on Goblinslate.
