Chapter 43: Zhao Xiaoman

“Sister Qu, I missed you too.” I replied, and Qu Na and I rolled onto the bed.

Perhaps it was the feeling of reunion after a short separation, Qu Na and I began to release our passion.

After about half an hour, Qu Na lay in my arms, looking very content, ki$sing my cheek.

“Xiao Lin, you know, I really wish I could be with you for the rest of my life, but I know it’s unrealistic,” Qu Na said softly, and I was somewhat surprised.

“Why?” I asked quickly.

“I’m forty years old. I divorced before because I couldn’t have children, which means that even if I remarry, I won’t be able to have children,” Qu Na continued.

Hearing Qu Na say this, I immediately felt indignant for her.

I never imagined Qu Na had such a past. She divorced her husband because she couldn’t have children, and later I learned that her ex-husband actually had a mistress at the time, who then became his wife and abandoned her.

“Sister Qu, let bygones be bygones. You’re doing fine now,” I quickly comforted her.

“Yes, I’m doing very well now. I don’t want to think about those things anymore. I don’t lack anything anyway,” Qu Na nodded slightly.

Afterwards, Qu Na and I took a shower together. While showering, I couldn’t resist looking at Qu Na’s mature curves and we made love again.

The night passed quickly. The next morning, I took Qu Na to the sales office of Blue Moon Mansion. Before leaving, Qu Na took my ID card and said she’d see me at noon.

I went home, changed my clothes, and drove to the company. There I saw Director Wang, and Sun Dan looked at me calmly and greeted me.

“Xiao Lin, come in. I have something to tell you,” Director Wang patted my shoulder, ignored Sun Dan, and pulled me into my office.

Mr. Wang settled into his office sofa and smiled faintly. “Xiao Lin, are you satisfied with this new office?”

“Satisfied, of course I’m satisfied! Mr. Wang, just say what you need,” I replied hastily.

Mr. Wang’s sudden visit to our sales department so early in the morning was a bit strange. He usually only came when he needed something, not this early.

“I’m getting someone in here for you. Starting today, Zhao Xiaoman will be working for you. What do you think?” Mr. Wang gestured for me to close the office door, then looked at me.

“Secretary Zhao? Secretary Zhao is coming to work for me?” I closed the door, looking at Mr. Wang with a puzzled expression.

Zhao Xiaoman was Secretary Zhao’s name. She had always worked for Mr. Wang. Why was she suddenly reporting for duty with me today?

This seemed odd. Was it because Mr. Wang’s wife caught him and Zhao Xiaoman in the act last night, forcing him to arrange for Zhao Xiaoman to come?

“Zhao Xiaoman has been with me for two or three years now. She’s very meticulous. People would gossip if she stayed with me. I’m arranging for her to be your manager’s secretary. You wouldn’t object, would you?” Mr. Wang continued.

“I have no problem with that, but why me? Doesn’t Manager Sun need one?” I scratched the back of my head and asked.

“Manager Sun said she doesn’t need a secretary. She’s probably a bit upset lately since you became manager, so I came to you,” Mr. Wang explained with an awkward smile.

“Okay, Mr. Wang, whatever you say, I’ll do,” I nodded quickly.

“Hahaha, then you’d better take good care of Zhao Xiaoman,” Mr. Wang laughed, then left my office.

After Mr. Wang left, I felt a surge of displeasure. Mr. Wang couldn’t keep his mistress at home, afraid his wife would catch her at the company again, so he arranged for Zhao Xiaoman to work with me. What kind of nonsense is this? I turned and glanced at the office next door. Through the glass wall, I saw Sun Dan sitting at her desk, looking at me with a half-smile, as if waiting for me to make a fool of myself.

Damn it, so what if Zhao Xiaoman is my secretary? She’s just a figurehead anyway; I can just do my own thing.

Thinking this way, I felt more at ease.

At 10:30 AM, I finally met Zhao Xiaoman.

Today, Zhao Xiaoman was dressed rather conservatively in a business suit. She was carrying a designer handbag and smiled when she saw me.

“Manager Lin, I’m here to report for duty,” Zhao Xiaoman nodded slightly.

“Okay, Secretary Zhao, please have a seat here. I’ll get you a desk right away,” I said quickly.

“Then Manager Lin, please take care of me from now on,” Zhao Xiaoman grinned.

“Don’t worry,” I replied hastily.

I had a few colleagues bring over a desk, and I also got Zhao Xiaoman a computer. Once everything seemed settled, I started working.

“Manager Lin, is there anything I can do?” Zhao Xiaoman, sitting idly at her desk, asked me hastily.

“How about you take a look at our latest flagship products, or follow up with the factory about that order from Hainan?” I thought for a moment and casually suggested.

“Okay.” Zhao Xiaoman nodded slightly.

For some reason, since Director Wang placed Zhao Xiaoman in my office, I always felt like I had a spy next to me, making me hesitant to do anything freely.

Soon, it was lunchtime. Just as I was about to leave the office, Zhao Xiaoman called out to me.

“Manager Lin!”

I turned around in surprise, looking Zhao Xiaoman up and down. “What’s wrong, Secretary Zhao?”

“I think I saw your car in the underground parking garage of Metro City last night. Did you tip off Director Wang’s wife?” Zhao Xiaoman blinked her big eyes, staring at me.

Upon hearing this, I frowned immediately. “W-what? Inform Mr. Wang’s wife?”

“Nothing, I was just asking. It just felt like a coincidence,” Zhao Xiaoman pouted, forcing a smile.

Damn, this woman seems to be a ticking time bomb. She actually saw my car last night. Luckily, I didn’t inform her, otherwise how would I ever work for Mr. Wang’s company again?

Thinking to myself, I said goodbye to Zhao Xiaoman and drove away from the company.

Because I had promised Qu Na we’d have lunch together and go to the car market, I went to the sales office of Blue Moon Mansion, and Qu Na got into my car.

“Xiao Lin, here, take this.” Qu Na fastened her seatbelt and handed me a file folder.

“Sister Qu, what’s this?” I frowned.

“Open it and see.” Qu Na grinned.

Hearing Qu Na’s words, I quickly opened the file folder. Inside was a document, and on the document was a purchase contract.

“I used your registered address to retrieve your parents’ identity information. This house will be yours from now on. As for the property certificate, it’s still being processed today, and you should have it in your hands tomorrow,” Qu Na explained.

Seeing my parents’ names on the purchase contract, I was incredulous, feeling like I was dreaming.

“W-doesn’t my parents need to be present, or do they need their ID cards?” I asked hurriedly.

“Reaching their identity information is enough. Besides, I was the one who transferred the house, so I have the final say,” Qu Na continued.

At that moment, I was incredibly moved. This was a 150-square-meter apartment, on a prime floor. I never imagined I would own this house. Although my name wasn’t on the purchase contract, I’m an only child, so what’s mine is my parents’ too.

“Thank you, Sister Qu. I don’t even know how to thank you properly,” I said sincerely.

“Don’t mention it. This house isn’t your and your wife’s joint property. No matter what, it belongs to the Lin family,” Qu Na continued.

“I never imagined Sister Qu would be so busy with my affairs all morning.” I was extremely grateful.

“Treat me to a nice meal, I’d like to eat at Lady Goose today,” Qu Na said with a smile.
