Chapter 50: Chainsaw Killer

“This… is this zombie real??” Xue Wu’s pupils continuously contracted, fragments of scenes where zombies sucked blood flashing through his mind, his body trembling uncontrollably. He wanted to escape, but Old Master Ren would not give him the chance.

“Ahhh!!” Old Master Ren let out a grotesque roar, his sharp fangs lunging directly towards Xue Wu’s neck.

“Ah!!!” A scream that nearly tore his vocal cords erupted from Xue Wu’s mouth; the icy sensation made him feel as if his blood was being drained. His hands fell weakly to his sides, his eyes gradually losing focus, and he collapsed to the ground in an instant.

After a while, Xue Wu realized he was unharmed. He dazedly lifted his head and found that although Old Master Ren still looked menacing, he remained frozen in the same position, no longer moving.

Xue Wu touched his neck and discovered there were no wounds at all.

The fangs were fake; they couldn’t hurt anyone!! Although he had been startled, he also noticed something.

Inside Old Master Ren’s open mouth lay a key, quietly resting.

“What the hell, the owner of this haunted house actually hid the key in such a place, how cruel! Damn it!” Xue Wu trembled as he reached towards Old Master Ren’s mouth, knowing the fangs were fake, yet still fearing they might snap down at any moment!

Finally obtaining the key, Xue Wu let out a sigh of relief. “I hope the others can find another key!!”

Xue Wu exited the hospital room, intending to regroup with the others. After passing three hospital rooms, he suddenly heard voices. He entered that room and found Hao Meili and her two companions slumped on the floor, next to them lay a girl’s doll.

“Where’s the other person? Where is he?” The sudden voice startled Hao Meili and her companions; upon realizing it was Xue Wu, they finally relaxed.

Wu Yaoyao said with a trembling voice, “That person… that person seems to be dead…!”

Hao Meili scolded, “Don’t talk nonsense, how could he be dead?”

Seeing that the three of them were clueless, Xue Wu decided not to search for the missing person and instead asked, “Did you find the key?”

“No,” the three shook their heads in unison.

“Useless!” Xue Wu cursed, it had already been nearly half an hour! At this rate, they wouldn’t be able to clear the challenge smoothly, and failing to clear it meant losing a thousand yuan; how could he not be anxious!

“What kind of person talks like that?!” Lu Tao frowned and stood up; someone like Xue Wu was truly asking for a beating.

“I…” Xue Wu wanted to explode in anger, but after thinking it over, he realized that to clear the challenge smoothly, he had to cooperate with these people, so he held back.

With a hint of apology, he said, “I was wrong! Don’t be angry, let’s hurry and find the remaining keys.”

“You found a key?” Wu Yaoyao looked at him in disbelief.

“Yes, I found the key to Operating Room No. 1. If we find another one, we can enter the operating room. Although the key to Operating Room No. 3 might be in Operating Room No. 1, it’s better to gather them all before going!”

No one objected; although Xue Wu was annoying, the priority was still to clear the challenge smoothly. After all, face was important, and there were many people outside waiting to see the joke.

The four of them acted together, feeling much more confident as they walked towards the few remaining hospital rooms that had not been searched.

At that moment, suddenly, footsteps echoed, and the four stopped in their tracks, listening intently. The sound came from the second hospital room ahead; they exchanged glances and ultimately decided to investigate.

Quietly, they moved, careful not to make too much noise. Upon entering the hospital room, they were hit by a strong smell of smoke; that odor was all too familiar to Lu Tao and Hao Meili, often encountered in the cremation room of the funeral home.

As they moved a few steps further, they saw the environment of the hospital room clearly and instantly froze in place, not daring to move.

A clown, covered in thumbs, was fiddling with a corpse on the hospital bed.

The corpse was clearly burned to death, and that terrifying clown was toying with it as if it were a plaything. A fearsome smile stretched across its face…

Xuan Yun lay at the clown’s feet, unsure whether he was alive or dead…

Was this clown a murderer or a malevolent spirit? No one knew.

Xue Wu, with a grim expression, waved his hand, signaling everyone to slowly back away. Not daring to make a sound, the four of them moved their feet inch by inch. Just as they were about to retreat behind the door, the clown suddenly turned its head and looked at them! It revealed an incredibly horrifying smile, and from its mouth, countless sharp teeth glistened, resembling a demon crawling out of hell.

Vroom vroom vroom…

The chainsaw roared to life, its whirring teeth crashing down towards Xuan Yun’s neck, blood gushing out instantly, splattering onto the faces of the four.

“Oh God, oh God… it’s really a murderer!! Help!! Help!! Run!!”

Hao Meili, Xue Wu, and Lu Tao fled the hospital room like madmen, while only Wu Yaoyao stood frozen in place, staring at the clown before her.

Zuo Si couldn’t help but be astonished; this girl was truly bold, able to withstand such terror. Just as he thought to praise her, he saw her stiffen and faint.

Seeing this, Zuo Si rushed over and caught her.

“So she fainted from fright…” Zuo Si was speechless, feeling that he hadn’t even exerted himself yet, and two people had already fainted. He could ignore the trickster Xuan Yun, but Wu Yaoyao had to be taken out. He couldn’t let her wake up later and get scared again; if she developed any issues from the fright, the consequences would be unbearable.

Zuo Si glanced at his outfit; he certainly couldn’t go out looking like this. “I originally wanted Director Hao to have a good experience in my haunted house, but it seems I’ll have to disappoint her. Sigh!”

Zuo Si sighed, returned to the staff lounge to change clothes, and carried Wu Yaoyao back to the entrance of the haunted house.

The people outside were stunned when they saw Zuo Si carrying Wu Yaoyao.

“What happened to this girl?”

“She fainted from fright~” Zuo Si placed Wu Yaoyao on a chair and pinched her philtrum.

Ding Ruxiao brought over a cup of hot water, and after Wu Yaoyao drank a few sips, she slowly regained consciousness.

“Help! Help! There are ghosts! There’s a murderer!” Wu Yaoyao shouted in a panic, and Zuo Si quickly reassured her, “It’s okay, it’s okay, it was all fake! It was all fake!”

Once Wu Yaoyao calmed down and looked around her surroundings, she finally sighed in relief and began to sob, “It was too scary, I will never go to a haunted house again… Wuwuwu.”

“My God, what’s in this haunted house that scared this girl so badly?”

“Maybe she’s just timid; the others didn’t seem affected.”

“Oh, come on, would someone timid even dare to enter a haunted house? She really fainted from fright!”

The crowd murmured among themselves.

Suddenly, Wu Yaoyao looked up, fear etched on her face as she gazed at Zuo Si and said, “No, I saw a clown using a chainsaw to chop off someone’s head! There really is a murderer in here!”
