Chapter 53: Mei’er, I’m hungry

“Hey! Who the heck are you cursing at?” Zhang Yu jumped off the bed and came at me. I dodged, waving my hand and said, “I’m not messing with you. How’s Fatty?”

“You mean him? Today, he really surprised me. Although it was a bit embarrassing, he finally took the first step of being a man!” Zhang Yu put his arm around my shoulder and glanced at Fatty, who was drinking a beverage.

Zhang Yu and I walked over to Fatty’s bed, sat down, and I asked, “How do you feel?”

Fatty’s expression was conflicted for a moment before he burst out laughing, “Great!”

“Just one word, this kid talked about it the whole way!” Zhang Yu lit a cigarette and said with a grin.

“Zhang Yu, why are you smoking again? Put it out; we’re all getting ready to sleep!” The person sleeping on the bunk above Fatty said helplessly. I agreed with him; Zhang Yu was the only one in the dorm who smoked, and the smoke really was unbearable.

“He’s right; put out the cigarette!” I patted Zhang Yu on the shoulder and said with a smile.

“Darn it! No fun at all!” Zhang Yu cursed but still put out the cigarette.

At that moment, Fatty suddenly looked worried, “What if that guy really is the principal’s son?”

“So what? We’ve already beaten him up. At worst, we just won’t attend school anymore!” Zhang Yu said nonchalantly, though he hung the half-smoked cigarette behind his ear, unwilling to throw it away.

“My grades aren’t great, but if my dad finds out about this, he’ll beat me to death. And if we want to come back and continue school, it’ll cost money,” Fatty said worriedly.

Fatty’s family wasn’t rich, but they were well-off enough to indulge him. He always claimed he just had a good metabolism.

“Don’t worry. We’ve been here for two years and never heard that the principal’s son attends this school. That guy must be lying. Don’t overthink it!” I couldn’t yet tell Fatty and Zhang Yu that Chen Tianxiang really was the principal’s son.

Although Zhang Yu acted indifferent, he lived with just his mother, who had high expectations for him. If she found out about this, Zhang Yu would go crazy. He had always hidden his mistakes well, appearing to be an obedient child in his mother’s eyes.

“I thought so too,” Zhang Yu said, relighting his cigarette. The person on the upper bunk, realizing it was futile to stop him, played with his phone in silence.

Fatty beamed, “Yeah! How did I not think of that?”

I couldn’t help but twitch my mouth. These two idiots were just like me, not very aware of the outside world.

But it was just as well, no worries about being exposed.

“Time to sleep, time to sleep. I’m so darn tired today!” Zhang Yu stood up, stretched lazily, and immediately lay down on his boat to sleep. The chubby guy also finished his drink in one gulp and said, “I’m going to sleep too.”

Seeing that no one was talking, I lay down on my own bed. However, I didn’t really go to sleep because, with my current mental strength, not sleeping for a night didn’t matter at all. I just missed Mei’er since I hadn’t seen her in a long time.

Lying on the boat, with my lips slightly parted, I entered a breathing exercise state and soon reached a state of meditation.

With my current level of mental strength, it was easy to enter Mei’er’s Purple Palace.

The scene in Mei’er’s Purple Palace this time was completely different from before; it was no longer an endless darkness.

The ground was covered with peach blossoms and peach trees everywhere, making it seem like I had arrived at a legendary utopia filled with birdsong and floral scents.

Mei’er was sleeping soundly in a pile of peach blossoms, looking very cute in her nine-tailed fox form.

I plucked a piece of grass from the ground, squatted beside Mei’er with a mischievous grin, and tickled her nose with it.

“Achoo!” Mei’er, in her fox form, sneezed very humanely, shook her head, and went back to sleep.

I chuckled and continued to tease Mei’er until she couldn’t take it anymore and opened her eyes. Seeing me, she happily said, “Xia Tian, you’re here!”

“Did you miss me?” I asked with a smile while stroking Mei’er’s smooth fur.

Mei’er lay on my lap, blinked her big eyes, and said, “Mei’er said she didn’t miss you, Xia Tian, would you believe it?”

Darn it! Ever since Mei’er talked with Sister Lin, she’s become much more playful. I really wanted to know what Sister Lin had talked about with Mei’er.

“I don’t believe it. Mei’er must have missed me a lot, right?” I teased.

Mei’er smiled, “Xia Tian is so smart!”

See, this is my lovely Mei’er! Just when I was about to bask in self-admiration, Mei’er said, “Sister Mengxin said that Xia Tian is quite foolish, so she must have been lying to me.”

“Um… What exactly did Sister Lin tell you?” I asked, feeling like I would die if I didn’t find out.

“She said Xia Tian wet the bed when he was little, and also…” Mei’er didn’t finish her sentence before I cut in, “Damn it! Don’t listen to her nonsense. She didn’t even know me when I was a child!” Damn it! Sister Lin was spinning tales without blinking, and she must be fooling someone as naive as Mei’er.

“Xia Tian, don’t be shy. Sister Lin also said it’s normal for children to do that!” Mei’er rubbed her head against my arm comfortingly. But was this really comforting?

Sister Lin! If I see her again, I’m definitely going to get back at her!

“Mei’er, can you take on a human form in the Purple Mansion?” If I kept discussing Sister Lin with Mei’er, who knew what else she might say to hit me. Although I knew she didn’t mean any harm.

Mei’er nodded, stepped out of my arms, and in a flash of white light, transformed into her human form, still wearing a flowing white dress.

Mei’er was still as beautiful as ever, seemingly impossible to tire of. She looked more charming than a pure girl should, and of course, her graceful figure was also a highlight.

“Mei’er, I’m hungry,” I said, rubbing my stomach.

Mei’er was momentarily stunned and asked in confusion, “Did Xia Tian not eat?”

As Mei’er was speaking, I suddenly tackled her to the ground, laughing as I said, “I want to eat you!” I was about to k!ss Mei’er’s lips when she suddenly vanished, causing me to land face-first in the dirt.

Since this was happening in Mei’er’s Purple Palace, I was not physically harmed, but the pain was still there. I looked rather embarrassed, while Mei’er stood nearby, covering her mouth and looking pleased. Just as I was about to pretend to be angry, Mei’er stopped laughing and said seriously, “Xia Tian, someone is looking for you outside. You should go out.”

I wondered who could be looking for me at this moment. Shaking my head helplessly, I left Mei’er’s Purple Palace.

Since my mental strength had improved, I no longer needed Mei’er’s help this time.

“Xia Tian, Xia Tian!” As soon as I stepped outside, Fatty’s voice reached my ears. I pretended to just wake up, saying, “Hmm? Who’s there?”

“It’s me, Fatty!” Fatty said anxiously.

I rubbed my eyes and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Fatty’s face turned red, and he said awkwardly, “I drank too much and need to use the bathroom. It’s too dark, and I’m afraid to go alone.”

Damn it! Just going to the bathroom ruined my good moment!
