Chapter 69: Unsealing the Storage Ring

With Zhao Kai’s endless gratitude, the three of us calmly left, quietly concealing our accomplishments.

“Feel better now?” I raised an eyebrow, looking at Zhang Yu.

Zhang Yu was unusually excited and said joyfully, “Of course I feel better! Damn, Zhao Kai’s expression just now—I almost couldn’t stop myself from laughing.”

“Wasn’t it my great idea!” I gave Zhang Yu a glance, then teasingly said, “So, not even treating your bro to a meal?”

“Just a shriveled sausage—want it or not?” Zhang Yu spread his legs, pointing at his crotch, and continued, “I don’t offer it to just anyone, you know. It’s been preserved for eighteen years—premium stuff!”

“Scr*ew you!” I cursed with a laugh.

Fatty suddenly raised his head and said, “Damn! I get it now. The people who beat up Zhao Kai were called by you guys, and you were just acting, right?”

“Cr*ap!” Zhang Yu and I both cursed at the same time. This guy’s brain really works slow.

We joked around with Zhang Yu and Fatty all the way to the station, then went our separate ways.

When I got home, I plopped down on the sofa. Finally, it was just Mei’er and me.

“Mei’er? Come out!” As soon as I spoke, Mei’er transformed into her human form and sat on my lap.

Mei’er smiled at me but said nothing.

I originally thought of “eating” Mei’er a little, but remembering what happened last time in Mei’er’s Purple Mansion, that thought quickly vanished.

Ever since the seal on Mei’er’s second tail was lifted, her magic skills have increased significantly, making it impossible for me to take advantage.

“Mei’er, with my current strength, can I unseal the Storage Ring’s restriction?” I held the Storage Ring in my hand and asked Mei’er.

“Let Mei’er take a look.” Mei’er closed her eyes and placed a hand on my forehead.

Her lips looked so soft and pink… Alas, it’s a pity I can’t taste them now.

Mei’er slowly opened her eyes and said to me, “You have fully refined and fused with the Bloodfiend Patriarch’s primordial spirit. Your mental strength is now dozens of times that of an ordinary person.”

“So, can I unseal the restriction on the Storage Ring?” I asked, puzzled.

Mei’er thought for a moment and then said, “You should be able to give it a try.”

“Didn’t you say not to mess around? What if I go crazy?” This isn’t something to mess with. If I don’t handle it right, and I really go crazy, that’d be a disaster! Of course, the main issue is, if I go crazy, who will continue to act in this drama?

Mei’er laughed and tapped my head, “Silly Xia Tian, with your current mental strength, even if you can’t lift the restriction, you won’t go crazy.”

“Then… should I try?” I asked tentatively.

Mei’er smiled and nodded. No sooner said than done.

I held the Storage Ring in my palm, focusing all my attention on it. Before long, everything went black, and my consciousness entered the Storage Ring.

Fortunately, lifting the restriction inside the Storage Ring didn’t require True Qi. Otherwise, that would have been bad. Ever since I lost my memory, my True Qi had disappeared completely, and I hadn’t had time to cultivate, so there wasn’t any True Qi in my body.

I opened my eyes to complete darkness, with a giant yin-yang Eight Trigrams diagram emitting a blue glow in front of me, surrounded by some strange symbols. Calling them symbols might be a stretch—they looked more like random doodles.

The so-called restriction was actually a formation. There were only two ways to break it: one, find the formation’s core and use a bit of mental strength to unseal it; or two, use mental strength equal to one-tenth of the formation caster’s to forcibly break it.

Mei’er hadn’t mentioned the first method initially because she knew nothing about formations, so she simply said there was only one way. This time, she told me the first method, intending for me to learn about formations in the cultivation world.

But these things looked like ghostly scribbles—I couldn’t make sense of them at all, so I had no choice but to forcibly destroy them.

I placed my hand on the center of the giant yin-yang Eight Trigrams diagram, fully enhancing my mental strength and focusing it all together. Suddenly, I directed it at the formation, and in an instant, the restriction shattered into pieces, bringing me back to reality.

“Is the restriction removed?” Mei’er looked at me, puzzled.

I smiled, “Of course. Who do you think I, Xia Tian, am…?”

“Alright, alright, we know you’re amazing!” Mei’er, seeing my expression, shook her head helplessly and said, “Let’s see what’s inside the Storage Ring first.”

“OK!” I once again focused my mental strength and entered the Storage Ring.

Damn, this—this is too much stuff!

What’s this? I casually grabbed a jade bottle and saw several traditional characters written on it. After a closer look, it read: “Gathering Essence Pill.”

There were all sorts of bottles filled with pills, such as Blood Return Pills, Qi Condensation Powder, and many more.

There were also items like Lingzhi mushrooms, ginseng, and other herbs I couldn’t name. Looking at this ginseng in front of me, it must be several hundred years old at least.

Of course, there were also plenty of spirit stones, all piled up in heaps, so I didn’t bother to count them.

Such a small ring, yet it contained so many things—one can’t help but marvel at the power of ancient cultivation.

There was a lot in here, but as for weapons, there was only a nine-inch dagger. But calling it a dagger isn’t quite right, as an ordinary dagger is about 20 centimeters, or six inches, long. This dagger, however, was entirely red with a hint of black, except for the blade, which was slightly brighter and lighter in color.

I wanted to explore further, but another, larger yin-yang Eight Trigrams diagram appeared before me. This one was not only much larger than the previous one but also far more complex. Moreover, this time, I couldn’t even get close to the restriction. Thinking of the word “crazy,” I quickly retreated back to reality.

“Mei’er, besides the previous restriction, there’s an even stronger one deeper inside the Storage Ring. I can’t break it.” I felt a bit dejected as I said this.

Mei’er seemed to be pondering something, then said, “I’m not very familiar with your human cultivators’ things, but this second restriction is probably a safeguard left by the original owner. But don’t worry too much—once your mental strength becomes strong enough, you should be able to break through the second restriction as well.”

True, there’s no need to rush. After all, what’s already inside is enough to surprise me.

“Mei’er, I’ll take out everything inside for you to see!” I said to Mei’er, since there were many things I didn’t recognize.

Mei’er nodded, seeming just as curious about what might be inside the Storage Ring.

Since I already knew the location of these treasures, I only needed to think of them to bring them into reality.

As I took out item after item, Mei’er’s mouth opened wider and wider.

Until I took out a small golden ginseng, Mei’er couldn’t hold back any longer and exclaimed, “A Millennium Blood Ginseng King!”

Hearing this, I was stunned. A millennium—and it even had the title of “King.” This thing must be extraordinary.

But I continued taking things out.

Mei’er, seeing the table filled with spiritual herbs and pills, was too shocked to speak. I only took out two pieces of spirit stones, since they all looked the same.

“Right, there’s this too!” I suddenly remembered the dagger. Moving my thoughts, the dagger appeared out of thin air. Just as I was about to catch it, the dagger fell straight down, embedding itself into the floor with only the hilt showing.

Damn! This—this thing is too damn sharp

HELP:

During the recent unrest in the country I am from, our family hardware store was broken into and looted by thugs. I don’t know why they did it, since my family has always been minding our own business, without bothering anyone else. I’m guessing some people are taking advantage of the current lawless and chaotic state of the country.

Anyways, the incident now leaves me as the only earning member of my family. Long time readers know that I was already dealing with a mountain of trouble (that I inherited from my father), and was already struggling. I had created a plan of action, and was steadily moving forward. But this incident destroyed whatever plans I had, again. I don’t know why bad things keep happening to me again and again. I might as well be cursed or something.

So here I am, after much hesitation, once again asking for your support. If you are reading this, please help if you are able to, I repeat, help only if you are able to. I am not asking something for free, you can become a Patron at Patreon to gain access to more chapters, or sponsor as many chapters you can from any of the novels you enjoy on Goblinslate here at BuymeaCoffee. Or if you just want to help, you can donate any amount at the Wishlist at BuymeaCoffee.

Thank you.
