Chapter 70: I Found You

The thought that a strange ghostly entity had just stood beside him sent a chill down Zuo Si’s spine.

However, mere speculation was far from enough.

He approached the door and carefully examined the wooden surface. The paint on the entire door had mostly peeled away, and at first glance, there seemed to be nothing noteworthy about it.

But the inside was slightly different. In the center, there were a few shallow dents; in such a dark environment, one would hardly notice them without touching.

“These must be the marks left by a boy knocking on the door over the years,” Zuo Si thought, feeling even more certain of his suspicions.

He glanced at the madwoman, who was completely oblivious to him, gritted his teeth, and entered the confinement room, shutting the door behind him.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The door trembled, and Zuo Si observed the trajectory of its vibrations. Any door would have gaps, especially one as dilapidated as this.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Sure enough, the moment the sound erupted, the door initially moved outward.

At this point, Zuo Si was already certain that the one knocking was standing right beside him!

He gently opened the door and said softly, “Child, I may never understand your loneliness and helplessness, but I still hope you can let go of the obsession in your heart and walk out of this door.”

“This is just an ordinary door; while it can confine your body, it cannot imprison your soul. If you do not wish to stay here, then bravely step outside!”

“No one can take away your freedom! No matter who that person is!”

“If this door has become a demon in your heart, then I am willing to smash it into pieces for you!”

Bang! A heavy kick struck the door of the confinement room.

It broke cleanly in half. This old door was simply no match for the force.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

With four consecutive kicks, the once intact door was reduced to splinters. The surroundings fell silent, even the madwoman stopped crying, staring blankly at Zuo Si.

“I found you, Knocker! I have won this game!”

The temperature around him began to drop gradually, and Zuo Si had no idea what consequences his actions would bring. He was simply following the choice of his heart.

In this school, no one had the right to imprison a child like this.

“Consider yourself lucky…” A hoarse voice whispered in his ear, and a gust of cold wind suddenly swept through Zuo Si’s body, rushing out the door.

“Son!!” At the same time, the madwoman chased after it.

Zuo Si let out a sigh of relief; with that, the second optional task could be considered complete.

He sat on the ground and checked the time; it was already 1:30 AM, and he had half an hour left before the Courage-Testing Task.

To ensure nothing went wrong, he took out his Black Phone and looked at the task again.

[Task Objective: At 2 AM, comb your hair in the second-floor restroom of Dejing Middle School. When the reflection in the mirror smiles at you, please close your eyes, remain silent, and stand still for five minutes.

Task Reward: The Wonderful Music Box.

Item Effect: By opening it, you can easily gather those children together.

Task Hint 1: During the period of closing your eyes, please do not move, and definitely do not open your eyes.

Task Hint 2: This task is extremely dangerous; please choose carefully.

Task Hint 3: This task is unique; if you cannot complete it tonight, you will never be able to obtain the ‘Wonderful Music Box’ item in the future.]

This task seemed simple, requiring only to stand in front of the mirror and comb his hair. But if he did not smile, why would the reflection in the mirror smile?

This was too bizarre.

Moreover, the task hints warned that this task was extremely dangerous, urging caution in the choice. This was the first time the Black Phone had such a warning, indicating the level of danger involved…

But Zuo Si had no choice; in order to survive through one task after another, he had to complete each task as perfectly as possible. Only then could he accumulate enough Fear Value.

Zuo Si glanced at his phone and said, “Dear viewers, we will be playing a supernatural game shortly. Please keep your eyes wide open to help me see clearly what will happen during these five minutes while I close my eyes.”

“We’re playing a supernatural game again? What was it just now, the Ouija board? What’s next?”

“It was pretty thrilling when the streamer killed the Ouija board spirit; are we going to kill the Pen Spirit next?”

“Pen Spirit my ass, didn’t the streamer say he’s closing his eyes? Does the Pen Spirit require you to close your eyes?”

“… “

“Dear viewers, I don’t even know the name of the next supernatural game, but it will definitely be exciting. If you think this live stream is still good, don’t forget to subscribe and send gifts.”

“Yes, yes, yes, everyone, don’t just watch the live stream; send some gifts. It’s not a good habit to just leech off!”

[System: The Weak Tiger rewarded a Wolf Skin Coat.]

[System: Jade-faced Flying Dragon gifted the streamer a Wolf Head Rocket! Triggered full-channel banner!]

[System: Infinite Sword Saint gifted the streamer a pair of exquisite silver bracelets.]

The popularity value had already reached twenty thousand, and many viewers were sending gifts; after one round of gifts, nearly eight hundred dollars had been collected.

But upon seeing Infinite Sword Saint, Zuo Si became uneasy. Wasn’t that the guy who called the police last time? He had given him a seventy-two-hour mute package last time, and he still came back to send a ten-dollar gift.

Wait, looking closely, something was off about this gift; a pair of silver bracelets, aren’t those just handcuffs?

Damn it, this bastard isn’t planning to call the police again, is he?

Zuo Si’s expression turned strange, but after thinking it through, he realized he hadn’t revealed the live stream address, so even if he called the police, it wouldn’t matter.

“Streamer, where are you?” Infinite Sword Saint’s first message asked this, and Zuo Si chuckled.

“Stop asking nonsense, or I’ll mute you!”

“Alright, alright, I won’t ask anymore. Just focus on your live stream; even if I call the police, I’ll wait until your live stream is almost over. I still want to watch!”

[System: Infinite Sword Saint has been muted by the streamer for seventy-two hours.]

“Damn it, don’t think you can talk nonsense just because you sent a ten-dollar gift!”

Clap… Clap…

As soon as Zuo Si finished speaking, he heard footsteps; it was the Night Watchman! He had actually come upstairs; it seemed the loud noise from earlier had attracted him.

“I know you’re on this floor, come out quickly! I’ve told you before, this place is very dangerous! Don’t stay here! Hurry and leave, or those ghostly things will kill you!”

The Night Watchman was shouting angrily.

Zuo Si silently put away his phone and hid in the corner on the other side of the door.

“If I had known, I would have gone downstairs earlier. This Night Watchman is too dedicated; is he afraid of being held responsible if someone dies here?…”

Calculating the time, there were still about ten minutes until two o’clock; he hoped this guy would leave quickly.

Suddenly, the footsteps disappeared, but Zuo Si didn’t go out immediately. He crouched in the corner for a few more minutes before daring to slowly step out to check the situation.

He first glanced to the west and didn’t see anyone.

Just as he was about to breathe a sigh of relief, he looked to the east and saw the Night Watchman standing against the wall by the door, his face dark as he stared at him.
