Chapter 81: Became a R0bber?

After wandering around all day, the three of us only returned home by evening. Sister Lin tearfully bid us farewell, creating quite an emotional scene. Yet, even as she was leaving, she didn’t have a single kind word for me.

“Stupid Xia Tian, you must take good care of Mei’er!” Sister Lin said tearfully as she wiped her eyes.

“I will take great care of Mei’er, don’t worry about that!” I smiled. Who would’ve thought that Sister Lin had such a sentimental side?

Sister Lin suddenly hugged… Mei’er! Yes, Mei’er. I originally thought she would hug me. I really don’t understand what two women have to hug about.

“Well, I’m off. You both must remember to visit me in the capital!” Sister Lin waved to us and left.

The capital? Since Sister Lin is attending university there, we’ll probably run into her soon.

“Alright, let’s head back!” I patted Mei’er’s shoulder.

Mei’er, a bit reluctant, glanced in the direction Sister Lin had left before returning to the house with me.

“After running around all day, go take a bath,” I said to Mei’er.

Mei’er smiled at me, “Mei’er doesn’t need a bath. Xia Tian, are you trying to sneak a peek at Mei’er?”

Her remark left me speechless, so I pretended to be indifferent. “Oh, then I’ll go first. You know how to turn on the air conditioner, right?”

Mei’er nodded, and I headed to the bathroom to shower.

While washing, I started thinking about the beautiful woman named Zi Yan, whose b*utt I slapped earlier. She wouldn’t really come after me, right? Even though I might’ve gone a bit too far, it wasn’t entirely my fault. If she hadn’t kept pushing, I wouldn’t have fought back.

And what did she mean by ‘Peak Yellow Rank’? Is that some kind of power ranking nowadays?

Clearly, she knows about these things, which means she’s not an ordinary person. But I ended up offending her. D*mn! What bad luck.

Also, I have to go back to school tomorrow. What excuse should I use to give Zhang Yu the bank card Zhang Peng gave me?

Zhang Peng’s bank card must have a lot of money in it. Even though I love money, since he trusted me with this, I have to get this done.

The showerhead sprayed water over me as I stood there, hoping to come up with a solution, but nothing came to mind.

Zhang Yu is very proud. If I just give him money for no reason, he definitely won’t accept it, especially such a large sum. I’m starting to regret agreeing to this. If I can’t pull it off, I’m going to look like an idiot.

After drying off and getting dressed, I left the bathroom. Mei’er was watching TV. I glanced over and saw it was “My Fa!r Princess” on Mang0 TV, which has been replayed countless times. It was Mei’er’s first time watching, and she was completely engrossed.

I didn’t disturb her and went back to my room to turn on my computer.

I typed “how to get someone to accept money” into Ba!du, but the search results were all useless.

D*mn it! Isn’t Ba!du supposed to know everything? This is a total scam!

After thinking for a while, I still couldn’t figure out how to give the money to Zhang Yu. But as the saying goes, the ship will straighten itself out at the pier. I’ll find a way eventually. For now, I’ll relax with a game of LOL.

Same account, different time, same place, and I ran into the same people. D*mn! Isn’t that Ga*ren, the one who leaves base with only a blue crystal?

The next morning, I woke up, checked the time, and saw it was 7:25. There was still some time before 8, so I didn’t rush. Just then, I received a text message from Sister Lin.

“Xia Tian, Sis is leaving. Don’t miss me, and definitely don’t come to the capital looking for me!”

I chuckled and quickly replied: “Don’t worry, I’ll absolutely follow your instructions. I won’t miss you, and I won’t go looking for you in the capital.”

“Stupid Xia Tian!” Sister Lin replied with just three words.

I smiled, got dressed, grabbed something to eat, and prepared to head to school.

After taking a few steps, I realized I had forgotten Mei’er upstairs!

Once again, I didn’t take the bus and jogged all the way to school.

The security guard from last time was eating while watching me. “Not jumping today?” he asked.

Jump your D*mn sister! The gate is open, why would I go through the trouble of jumping?

Ignoring him, I walked straight in. The guard muttered, “This kid doesn’t have the flair I had back in my day.”

I threw my change of clothes into the dorm and headed to class. Most of the students were already there, but neither Zhang Yu nor Fatty had shown up yet.

Sun Jing smiled when she saw me enter. “You’re early today, deskmate!”

I smiled back, “Of course. I’m planning to get into Tsinghua or Peking University.”

“You should aim for ‘Homeb0dy University’—it’s easier,” she joked.

After class started, Zhang Yu and Fatty still hadn’t arrived. It wasn’t until near the end of the period that they both rushed in.

Since we were in class, I put off giving Zhang Yu the money for the time being.

When class ended, Zhang Yu and Fatty came over.

Fatty, panting, said, “D*mn! Xia Tian, we saw police cars at the gate again!”

“So what? You saw them, big deal,” I replied casually.

Zhang Yu, looking puzzled, said, “The principal was already arrested. What are the police still doing here?”

“Who knows?” I smiled and patted Zhang Yu’s shoulder. “Come with me, I need to tell you something.”

“What’s up?” Zhang Yu asked, looking confused. Fatty chimed in, “What’s going on? Why aren’t you telling me?”

“You stay out of it!” This wasn’t Fatty’s business, so I didn’t need to involve him. Besides, if I did, my excuse wouldn’t work as well.

After thinking it over last night, I finally came up with a good excuse to give Zhang Yu the money.

“How’s your mother’s condition?” I asked as we stepped outside.

Hearing this, Zhang Yu’s expression darkened. “Not very optimistic…”

“You must really need money right now,” I continued.

Zhang Yu kicked me playfully. “You’re stating the obvious. Of course, I do!”

I shoved the bank card into his hand. “This is the prize money I won before. Take it to help your mother with her treatment.”

“I won’t take it!” Zhang Yu refused immediately.

Looking at him seriously, I said, “You don’t have the ability to earn money right now. Your mother is critically ill, and without this money, her life is in danger!”

“But…” Zhang Yu hesitated. I seized the moment. “Just take it. We’re brothers. When you make money in the future, you can pay me back.”

Zhang Yu accepted the money and looked at me. “Thanks.”

“You idiot! We’re brothers, no need for thanks!” I laughed.

Just then, the bell rang for class, and Zhang Yu and I returned to the classroom.

I was about to start reading when two police officers suddenly walked in. Standing at the front of the class, one of them asked, “Is there a student named Xia Tian?”

I froze. What do the police want with me? But I stood up and said, “I’m Xia Tian. What’s the matter, Officer?”

The two officers looked me over. One of them said, “We suspect you are involved in the major r0bbery on Peace Street. Please come with us to the station.”

What the hell! What’s going on? Are they saying… I’ve become a r0bber?

I NEED YOUR HELP: During the recent unrest in the country I am from, our family hardware store was broken into and looted by thugs. I don’t know why they did it, since my family has always been minding our own business, without bothering anyone else. I’m guessing some people are taking advantage of the current lawless and chaotic state of the country.

Anyways, the incident now leaves me as the only earning member of my family. Long time readers know that I was already dealing with a mountain of trouble (that I inherited from my father), and was already struggling. I had created a plan of action, and was steadily moving forward. But this incident destroyed whatever plans I had, again. I don’t know why bad things keep happening to me again and again. I might as well be cursed or something.

So here I am, after much hesitation, once again asking for your support. If you are reading this, please help if you are able to, I repeat, help only if you are able to. I am not asking something for free, you can become a Patron at Patreon to gain access to more chapters, or sponsor as many chapters you can from any of the novels you enjoy on Goblinslate here at BuymeaCoffee. Or if you just want to help, you can donate any amount at the Wishlist at BuymeaCoffee. Thank you.
