Chapter 86: Cultivation Technique Legacy

“How about we hang out at your place tomorrow?” Zhang Yu, carrying his backpack, said to me.

Fatty also nodded. “I think tomorrow’s the best day. We won’t get another chance.”

“Tomorrow probably won’t work.” I shook my head.

“Damn it! You jerk, why are you always so unreliable!” Zhang Yu cursed.

I chuckled. “What’s the rush? If you ask me, let’s wait until the afternoon after the college entrance exams. We can party all night until dawn. Won’t that be more fun?”

“What should we do? Go online?” Fatty asked, puzzled.

“We’ll eat first, then go sing karaoke. After karaoke, we can pull an all-nighter at the internet café!” I shared my plan with Fatty.

But Zhang Yu looked disappointed. “Damn! I thought you were going to invite me to lose my v!rginity!”

“V!rginity, my ass!” I couldn’t help but curse. What the hell was this guy thinking? Besides, hadn’t he already given his first time to his “five sisters” long ago? (G: His hand.)

After laughing and chatting, we parted ways at the bus stop.

When I got home, I tossed my things onto the bed and turned on the computer.

I casually browsed the web, checked the time, and decided it was time to cook.

In a flash of white light, Mei’er transformed into her human form and stood adorably in front of me, smiling as she said, “Xia Tian, why do you never talk to Mei’er when you get home?”

She was right. When I got home, I had completely forgotten about Mei’er. I must have been overthinking things, with my mind full of scenes of farewells.

“It’s not that. I was just about to cook and then call you to join me!” I patted Mei’er’s head with a smile.

“Xia Tian, can you cook?” Mei’er looked at me with doubt.

I laughed. “Of course I can!”

“But from what Mei’er remembers, isn’t cooking something that mortal women usually do?”

Hearing this, I sighed. “Things are different now. Besides, if I don’t cook for myself, no one else will.”

“Oh, I see…” Mei’er nodded, half-understanding.

I smiled at her. “You play on the computer for now. I’ll go cook for you.” With that, I headed to the kitchen.

This time, I felt at ease letting Mei’er use my computer since I had already deleted all the “sensitive” files. There was nothing she shouldn’t see now.

There was a market near Huaxin Community. I bought some tomatoes and noodles, planning to make tomato and egg noodles. After all, noodles are one of the simplest things to make. Sure, instant noodles are even easier, but they’re not good to eat too often. And with Mei’er here, I couldn’t just serve her instant noodles!

When I returned home, I saw Mei’er playing a game on the computer. I didn’t disturb her and went straight to the kitchen to start cooking. There were eggs in the fridge, so it didn’t take long before the meal was ready.

“Mei’er, come eat!” I shouted from the bedroom. Mei’er hopped out cheerfully upon hearing me.

“Is it good?” I nervously watched Mei’er as she took a bite. I hadn’t cooked in a long time because it was too much of a hassle. I worried my skills had declined.

“Mm-hmm, it’s delicious!” Mei’er nodded happily.

Hearing that, I felt relieved. It seemed my cooking was still decent.

After dinner, Mei’er went back to playing on the computer while I pondered how to improve my strength.

In other stories, when the main character gets a golden opportunity, they become unstoppable. But even after my cultivation, I didn’t see much improvement. I still struggled to fight ordinary people—of course, that’s without using True Qi.

And then there was what Zi Yan mentioned about the Yellow and Profound ranks. Those should be divisions of strength. If that’s the case, there must be Earth and Heaven ranks above them. But I’m only at the two-tailed level, so I can’t figure out where my strength lies.

Since even the police knew about the ranks of cultivators, Qin Shousheng must know too. I just had to wait until after the exams to train with him.

With my True Qi fully charged, I didn’t need to refine spiritual energy anymore. But without a proper cultivation technique, I couldn’t break through, so I turned my thoughts back to the Storage Ring, hoping to find something useful.

Just like last time, there were only spiritual herbs, spirit stones, and that dagger inside the ring. I couldn’t find anything else. I still couldn’t break through the second layer of restrictions, so I aimlessly wandered around before bringing the black dagger back to reality.

My interest in this black dagger was growing.

Black is always a mysterious color, but if it were a black br*a, the mystery wouldn’t be about the br*a itself but what lay behind it.

“Damn it!” Lost in my random thoughts, I accidentally cut my finger on the dagger. Strangely, no blood flowed out, and a thin layer of white frost formed around the wound. Even though it didn’t bleed, it hurt. After all the tempering my body had been through, normal blades shouldn’t affect me much anymore. But with just a light slice, this dagger managed to wound me.

After a while, the frost dissipated, and blood finally started to flow, dripping onto the dagger. I hesitated for a moment, then rushed to the bedroom to get a band-aid.

When I picked up the dagger again, as soon as I grasped it, a powerful force surged into my mind. Everything went black, and I almost passed out.

Damn it! Could there be another ancient demon like the Blood Fiend Old Ancestor inside this dagger?

This strange feeling came and went in an instant. The terrifying old monster I imagined didn’t appear, but I felt like something had been added to my mind. Before I could think about it, a voice echoed in my head.

“I don’t know which lucky b*stard got my inheritance, but you’re one lucky dog!” The voice was arrogant to the extreme. But where was it coming from?

Before I could figure it out, the voice spoke again. “This cultivation technique is called Nine Revolutions of Heaven and Earth, and I created it myself. It’s incredibly powerful, but if you lack talent, you’d better give up. If you’re as handsome as me, though, you can try practicing it!”

D*mn it, who the hell is this guy? So narcissistic.

“The technique is already in your head. Practice it well, and don’t embarrass me. Hopefully, I’m lucky enough to have found someone with decent talent. I’m in a hurry to ascend, so I won’t say much. Train hard, and I’ll be waiting for you in the Immortal Realm!”

I finally understood. This dagger wasn’t just a weapon—it held a legacy. Even though the guy was ridiculously arrogant, he had already ascended to the Immortal Realm, so I guess he had the right to brag. The important thing was, I finally had a proper cultivation technique!

I must be unbelievably lucky to have things go my way like this.

Just as I was about to absorb the technique left by this braggart, the voice echoed in my mind once more. “Oh, and remember my name, Niu Shisan! When you step on people, make sure they remember it. But when you get stepped on, just keep it to yourself!”

D*mn! Niu Shisan? That name is the epitome of badassery! (G: Thirteen Bull)
