Since a lot of readers are forming some premature opinions about the protagonist and the novel (after only reading 10-15 chapters), I will have to address some points about why he acts the way he does, specifically towards the female characters.
We all know that tigers are scary. They are inherently significantly stronger, ruthless, temperamental and will eat you if you do something to anger them. Imagine you are a normal human, and despite having great status, you have grown up in relative poverty. Now imagine that you suddenly have to live with about six of those tigers for years. What will you do? Will you s*upidly stand up and get eaten, or will you be logical and fear them for what they are, and try to get the hell away from them if you have the chance?
That is the protagonist’s mindset, he is not spineless or cowardly, he is just realistic, and he does fight when he knows he is in the same level as his opponent.
Anyways, you will understand more if you read until about 50 chapters. I am also reading as I go, so I will add more opinions here as I read. Thank you!
