I turned my head and saw Zhang Peng getting out of a van, accompanied by a group of his underlings.
“Brother Peng, over here!” I waved at Zhang Peng.
Zhang Peng froze for a moment in the distance, clearly not expecting to see me here.
He hurried over and smiled at me. “Xia Tian, my little brother, did Zhang Yu collect the money?”
“Let’s not talk about that now. Have a drink with me first!” I patted Zhang Peng on the shoulder and gave him a meaningful look.
Zhang Peng hesitated but sat down with me.
“You all go order some dishes. My brother and I will have a drink first; I’ll join you later!” Zhang Peng shouted to his underlings before turning to me. “Xia Tian, did Zhang Yu get the money?”
“He got it, no need to worry,” I replied with a smile. Once I saw no one else was around, I lowered my voice and said, “Brother Peng, I came to see you today for something serious.”
Zhang Peng’s expression changed slightly as he asked with a smile, “What do you need my help with?”
I took a sip of beer and fixed my gaze on Zhang Peng. “Brother Peng, you should know who Feng Xinghua is, right?”
“Feng Xinghua!” Zhang Peng’s fists clenched tightly, his teeth grinding. Unable to contain himself, he slammed the table with his fist.
“Brother Peng, what’s wrong?” The commotion caused Zhang Peng’s underlings to stand up, thinking something had happened.
“It’s nothing. Go back to eating,” Zhang Peng waved them off, signaling them to sit down.
I looked at Zhang Peng and continued, “Zhang Yu is my brother, so I want to do him one last favor before I leave.”
“Does it have something to do with Feng Xinghua?” Zhang Peng asked, calming himself.
I nodded. “That’s why I need your help, Brother Peng.”
“Xia Tian, I’ve wanted to take down Feng Xinghua for a long time, but I could never act. Do you know why?” Zhang Peng looked distressed. He was probably the one who hated Feng Xinghua the most.
I stayed silent, letting Zhang Peng explain.
He rubbed his forehead and said, “Do you know who his backer is? It’s the deputy mayor! With my current power, I can’t do anything.”
“If I hadn’t already investigated his background, I wouldn’t have come to you.” I spoke earnestly. Seeing Zhang Peng remain silent, I continued, “I’ll be returning to the capital soon, and I want to do Zhang Yu this one last favor. But I can’t take down Feng Xinghua openly, so I can only turn to you.”
“You… you’re from the capital?” Zhang Peng asked in surprise.
I sighed. “I just live there…”
“So, you’re planning to…” Zhang Peng gestured with a slicing motion across his neck.
Though reluctant, I nodded.
Feng Xinghua’s actions had made him deserving of death several times over. Though he hadn’t wronged me directly, Zhang Yu’s father, Xiao Kun, Xiao Kun’s fatherāso many lives had been ruined because of him. Perhaps there were even more.
I nodded again and said, “You don’t need to worry about anything else. I’ll clean up the mess. All I need from you is a little help…”
“Xia Tian, are you… really just a high school student?” Zhang Peng looked at me in disbelief.
I chuckled. “I’m not a high school student.”
Hearing this, Zhang Peng sighed in relief.
“I’ve already graduatedāalmost a college student now!” I laughed, leaving Zhang Peng stunned and at a loss for words.
Leaning close to Zhang Peng, I whispered, “Here’s my plan…”
***
As night fell, the atmosphere became ominous, perfectly suited for the task ahead.
Dressed in the same attire I had worn during the raid on the southern graveyard, I snuck into Feng Xinghua’s office building alone.
“Why are there so many migrant workers demanding payment outside again today?”
“Heh, they make a scene every so often. Haven’t you gotten used to it?”
“Those workers are pitiful, though. Their wages wouldn’t cost the boss much. Why not just pay them?”
“Hey, shut up! Don’t spout nonsense, or you’ll get yourself bitten by a mad dog and lose your job!”
Leaning against the wall, I listened to the two security guards’ conversation and shook my head in exasperation.
The “migrant workers” outside weren’t real laborers but Zhang Peng’s underlings in disguise.
Their goal was to distract the guards. If the guards had to maintain order outside, Feng Xinghua wouldn’t have bodyguards around him all the time. After all, he was just a businessman.
Once the guards left, I slipped through a sliding window into the building.
Feng Xinghua should be on the sixth floor. The quickest way there was the elevator, but no matter how poorly managed his office might be, the surveillance cameras were definitely operational.
Zhang Peng had long wanted to take down Feng Xinghua, so he was very familiar with the building’s layout.
Using the cameras’ blind spots, I swiftly made my way to the sixth floor.
The security on the upper floors was much sparser than on the lower ones, especially this late at night.
By the third floor, things had become easier.
When I reached the door of Feng Xinghua’s office, I found it locked. My heart sank.
If I missed this opportunity, I’d never have another chance to bring Feng Xinghua to justice.
I suddenly remembered how two clumsy thieves had opened my door with a wire last time. While I didn’t have a wire, I did have True Qi. By concentrating my True Qi, I could damage the lock mechanism.
However, if Feng Xinghua was inside, breaking the lock would alert him.
As I hesitated, footsteps approached from my direction.
“Sh!t!” I cursed under my breath. Without further thought, I used my True Qi to destroy the lock and pushed the door open, slipping inside.
Luckily, Feng Xinghua wasn’t in the office.
But if he wasn’t here, where could he be? If he wasn’t in the building tonight, this trip would be a waste.
As I pondered, a man’s voice and a woman’s laughter came from outside.
“Boss Feng, don’t be so hasty. We’re almost there. It’s not good if someone sees us…”
“The whole company is mine. What does it matter if they see? If anyone dares to make a fuss, I’ll fire them!”
Despite his bold words, Feng Xinghua pulled out his keys to unlock the door.
I had arrived just in time.
“Why is the door open?” Feng Xinghua’s voice made my heart race. Damn it! Were they going to leave now? I regretted breaking the lock.
“Boss Feng, come on in! Weren’t you in such a hurry?”
“Heh, you little seductress!”
“Phew…” I exhaled in relief and quickly hid behind the sofa.
“Oh, Boss Feng, you’re so naughty!” The moment they entered, Feng Xinghua’s hands were already groping the w0man’s chest.
The w0man was fairly attractive, though her makeup was overly thick.
Feng Xinghua laughed heartily and tore off the w0man’s cl0thes, revealing her ample b0som. The sight almost made me dizzy.
As they passionately k!ssed and tangled on the sofa, the w0man’s underwear was quickly tossed aside.
A black th0ng. Wow, so bold?
As I stood there dumbfounded, something suddenly fell on my head. I grabbed it to findāit was a man’s boxers!
I could no longer tolerate this. Initially, I wanted to see a “live-action romance,” but now I felt it was unnecessary.
Standing up, I patted Feng Xinghua, who was about to make his move, and said, “Hey, buddy, are these boxers yours?”
