Chapter 214: Bloody Swarm of Bats

The moment I took flight, the big guy suddenly leaped up.

Once again, he wore that constipated expression. With a whoosh, two massive wings sprouted from his back.

This guy really was a vampire. If that were the case, then SR wasn’t just some ordinary assassin organization—the SR that had annihilated the Li family back then was likely a group of highly skilled cultivators!

But wasn’t there a rule in the cultivation world that those above the Stellar Vortex level weren’t allowed to interfere in mortal affairs?

Back then, SR had wiped out the entire Li family single-handedly. There was no way those old geezers hadn’t known about it, yet I never heard the old man mention any unusual movements.

“You will pay a painful price for your ignorance!” The big guy was completely enraged. His broken nails had somehow regrown, and with a few flaps of his wings, he lunged at me.

Right now, I was unarmed—no way I could face him head-on. I needed to find a chance to land and retrieve my dagger, or I’d quickly be at a disadvantage.

The more I thought about it, the more frustrated I got. Here I was, a half-step Yueying-level expert, yet I didn’t have any ultimate moves? The only thing I had was Dragon Battles the Eight Desolations, and that was a martial arts technique!

As for Spirit Fox Steps and False Mysterious Escape Art, those were just escape skills—they didn’t count.

I immediately hunched over. Just as the big guy’s claws were about to tear into my chest, I kicked his chest at lightning speed, using the recoil to land on the ground. Before the vampire could react, I dashed over and snatched up the black dagger.

Though the big guy was fast, I was faster!

The moment I grabbed the dagger, I activated flight and shot toward him.

By now, the big guy had recovered. With a roar, he charged straight at me.

Head-on clash? Hah! No way some stinking bat’s body was tougher than mine!

His razor-sharp claws aimed straight for my head—if they landed, my skull would be crushed instantly!

Using Aerial Flight, I twisted aside. Since both of us were aiming to kill, I didn’t dodge too far.

His claws grazed past my chest, shredding my clothes.

“Get down!” I snarled, thrusting the black dagger straight into one of his wings.

There was no resistance at all—the dagger pierced clean through!

“Agh!” The big guy screamed, his claws slashing wildly toward me again.

I yanked the dagger free and kicked him down!

If this aerial battle dragged on, I’d lose for sure—Aerial Flight consumed too much True Qi.

This big guy was a vampire, born with the ability to fly. The only thing he wasted was stamina. If I didn’t cripple his wings, the consequences would be dire.

BOOM!

The big guy crashed onto the rooftop with a deafening impact, cracking the concrete in several places.

I didn’t dare let my guard down. Landing swiftly, I prepared to press my advantage. No way a single kick would finish him off.

Using the rebound force, I shot toward him again.

The big guy had already gotten back up. Seeing me charge, he frantically flapped his wings, trying to take off.

“What did you do to me?!” His face twisted in horror as he realized his injured wing had gone completely numb.

The black dagger’s deadliest trait wasn’t its sharpness—it was the Yin Qi imbued within.

After I slashed his wing, the chilling energy invaded his body, freezing his nerves and causing this result.

Before he could finish speaking, I was already in front of him, thrusting the dagger straight for his heart!

“ROAR!” The big guy let out an inhuman shriek.

But the dagger didn’t pierce his heart—he blocked it with his arm.

The dagger’s sharpness far exceeded my expectations. It sliced clean through his forearm!

Blood sprayed onto me, making me nauseous—like I was carsick.

After his scream, his remaining arm lashed out at me. I scrambled back, but not fast enough.

CLANG!

His claws struck my chest with a metallic clang, even sparking on impact.

“Huff… haah…” I panted, glancing down at my chest in dread. Four dark bruises had formed.

His claws were clearly much harder than an ordinary knife, but thankfully, they couldn’t deal critical damage.

Even so, the pain was intense.

The big guy glared at me, teeth gritted in agony. “You’re no martial artist! No martial artist in Huaxia is this strong—and they can’t fly! What the hell are you?!”

The corner of my mouth twitched, but I stayed silent, waiting for the chance to finish him.

“Y-You… are you a cultivator?!” His face paled as if he’d just recalled something terrifying.

His words startled me. How did a foreigner know about cultivators? And from his expression, it seemed he’d met one before!

Was SR’s leader really a cultivator?!

Suddenly, his expression twisted with malice. “Hmph! Even if you are a cultivator, I’ll still kill you! SR never fails a mission!”

A second ago, he’d been terrified—now he was spouting nonsense. Did this guy have a trump card up his sleeve?

As I pondered, the big guy suddenly spread his arms, wearing that constipated look again, and bellowed:

“FACE THE JUDGMENT OF DEATH!”

I immediately channeled all my True Qi, bracing for what was coming.

But after three or four seconds… nothing happened.

Did he run out of MP?

The moment that thought crossed my mind, countless bats surged from behind him, rushing toward me!

Holy shit! So many!

The bats were all blood-red, their eyes glowing crimson. It felt less like a swarm and more like a tidal wave of blood.

I quickly raised a True Qi barrier, blocking the bats, but all I could see now was a sea of red.

This wasn’t sustainable—I realized these bats could devour True Qi!

Though they died instantly after consuming it, their numbers were overwhelming.

“Disperse!” I roared, shattering the barrier with a burst of force that sent the bats flying.

The bats hit by the shockwave fell to the ground, dissolving into black smoke.

Instead of anger, the big guy laughed maniacally—then unleashed another endless swarm of bats at me!

D*mn it! Again?!
