Chapter 223: Everyone, Shut the Hell Up!

I returned to the apartment with Sister Lin and the others and went straight to the bedroom without even saying a word.

I had done a lot today and was really quite tired. Using the Purple-Gold Enchanting Eyes every time consumes a massive amount of mental energy.

I had originally been thinking about sharing the covers with Mei’er, but after Sister Lin butted in like that, it all went up in smoke!

I was exceptionally tired, but I tossed and turned, unable to sleep, my mind constantly returning to the words of the swordsman.

What exactly was this so-called tribulation?

With all these women around, I already had very few chances to be close to Mei’er. If what the swordsman said really came true, that would be disastrous.

Maybe I should spend more time with Mei’er…

I didn’t know when I finally drifted into sleep.

In my dream, Mei’er and I were chasing each other and playing on a vast, open grassland.

“Hehe! Caught you! Let’s see how you run away now!” I said, laughing as I grabbed Mei’er’s hand.

Mei’er smiled sweetly too, a hint of a blush on her face as she lowered her head without speaking.

I leaned down, ready to ki$$ Mei’er’s lips, when suddenly a wave of black mist swept in and snatched her away.

“Mei’er!” I jolted awake, covered in cold sweat.

Seeing that I was still in the bedroom, I realized it had just been a dream.

Just then, the bedroom door opened.

Mei’er walked in with a worried look on her face and said, “Xia Tian, what’s wrong?”

I shook my head at her and said with a smile, “It’s nothing, just a bad dream…”

What was that black mist? And those crimson red eyes… why did they feel so familiar, like I’d seen them somewhere before? But where? Why couldn’t I remember?

And that feeling of terror—what was that about?

It was just a glance, but even now, thinking back on it, I’m still afraid…

The black mist had appeared in my mind many times. What exactly was it?

Could the black mist abducting Mei’er be the tribulation the swordsman mentioned? If that’s really the case, then if that black mist dares to come, I’ll fight with my very life to keep Mei’er here!

“Xia Tian?” Seeing me distracted, Mei’er tentatively called my name.

I smiled, looked at her, and said, “It’s nothing, I’m just still a bit dazed from just waking up.”

“You’re covered in sweat even from sleeping. Let Mei’er wipe it for you!” Mei’er looked at me with a smile, then raised her hand to wipe the sweat from my forehead.

“Mei’er!” I grabbed the hand she was using to wipe my sweat, held it tightly, and said seriously, “I won’t let you leave me!”

Mei’er’s face flushed red. Finding she couldn’t pull her hand back, she said somewhat helplessly, “Alright, Mei’er won’t leave Xia Tian!”

Hearing that, I finally relaxed. Sometimes, people just need a single sentence to comfort themselves.

“Hurry up and get out of bed. After breakfast, you still have class!” Mei’er said, looking at me with a smile.

I was stunned for a moment, then said, “I have class this morning?”

“Yes, didn’t Xia Tian know?” Mei’er said, looking confused.

“What time is it now?” I asked Mei’er as I started putting on my clothes.

Mei’er smiled and said to me, “It’s 7:48. Why?”

“$hit!” If I delayed any longer, I’d probably be late.

I quickly put on my clothes, hastily fixed my hair in the mirror, and said to Mei’er, “Mei’er, I’m going to class. Stay home and don’t run off anywhere!”

After saying that, I ran out of the bedroom.

“Xia Tian, aren’t you going to eat?” Mei’er followed me out and asked.

Without turning my head, I waved my hand and said, “No time! I’m going to be late!”

I opened the door and was just about to head out when I heard Sister Lin at the dining table say, “Serves you right for waking up so late. You deserve to starve!”

D*mn! She really doesn’t hold back!

Even though you can skip classes freely in university, I only ever sleep in class and don’t really know anyone, so it’s not like anyone would answer the roll for me.

Because I was running so fast, I accidentally bumped into someone. That person was holding a huge pile of things, so I couldn’t see their face, but because of our collision, everything fell to the ground.

That person probably wasn’t too happy about being run into, and immediately started complaining: “Who is it? Can’t you watch where you’re going!”

“Sorry…” I was just about to apologize when I suddenly realized I had bumped into Yang Fan.

“How is it you?” I said, looking at Yang Fan with some surprise.

Yang Fan looked up, saw it was me, and said helplessly, “So it’s Xia Tian! You were running fast enough. My injuries have only just healed; if you get me into another problem, I’ll be in real trouble.”

I scratched my head somewhat apologetically, then helped Yang Fan up while saying, “Well, sorry about that, I didn’t do it on purpose. I’m about to be late!”

“You have class this morning?” Yang Fan gave me a somewhat surprised look.

I nodded and said, “Yeah!”

Then I asked, “What are you planning to do with all these bags, this roast duck, this fish?”

“Treat you to a meal!” Yang Fan said, while gathering his things.

That left me stunned. I asked doubtfully, “Treat me to a meal?”

“Yes! You helped me and my sister twice. It wouldn’t be right not to treat you to a meal. I saw your schedule said no class, so I went to get ingredients. I didn’t expect your class had changed. Looks like it’ll have to be this afternoon!” Yang Fan said somewhat helplessly.

“D0mn! You said no class?” My schedule hadn’t changed at all. So why did Mei’er say I had class? D*mn it! It must have been that Sister Lin!

“Uh…” Yang Fan looked completely confused after hearing what I said, seemingly not understanding what was going on.

I quickly smiled and said, “It’s nothing, it’s nothing. I have no class today. Let’s go back to the Martial Arts Club  together!”

“Huh? No class again?” Yang Fan was utterly bewildered now, even stopping his picking up.

“Stop talking! Let’s go!” I helped pick up the things on the ground, patted Yang Fan on the shoulder, and headed towards the Martial Arts Club.

Yang Fan quickly gathered the remaining things and ran after me: “Hey, wait for me!”

“I want to sign up! I want to sign up!”

“Where’s Xia Tian? We want to see Xia Tian!”

“How come Xia Tian isn’t here?”

“No matter the membership fee, I can pay it!”

D*mn! Since when did the entrance to the Martial Arts Club become so lively… this, this has to be at least three or four hundred people, right?

“What’s going on here?” I asked Yang Fan in confusion.

Yang Fan smiled somewhat proudly: “Ever since you defeated Miyagi Sawano and then completely crushed the Thai fighter, the Martial Arts Club’s reputation has soared. Lots of people have been signing up lately, but—”

“EVERYONE, SHUT THE HELL UP!” Before Yang Fan could finish, Yang Xue’s voice rang out from the crowd.

Then there was dead silence.

D-Does Yang Xue practice the Lion’s Roar technique? That’s kinda badass!
