“President Gu flatters me.” Zhang Tingmei smiled brilliantly and extended her hand.
The handshake was meant to linger on President Gu’s side, but Zhang Tingmei naturally had no intention of indulging him. She withdrew the moment their palms touched and made an inviting gesture. “President Gu, this way, please.”
“President Gu, after you.” I smiled as well.
“Very well.” President Gu gave Zhang Tingmei a meaningful glance, nodded slightly, and strode out.
Once inside the reserved private room, I quickly signaled the waiter to serve the dishes and specially opened several bottles of expensive wine.
“And this beauty is?” President Gu settled himself grandly at the table, his gaze sweeping over Zhang Tingmei before shifting to Liu Xue.
“President Gu, this is Liu Xue, Miss Liu, also from our sales department,” I hastened to introduce.
“Hello, President Gu,” Liu Xue greeted promptly.
“Not simple at all—truly impressive. Supervisor Lin, bringing two beauties this time… it seems you are determined to succeed,” President Gu laughed.
“Where, President Gu? It is our Daifen Company’s greatest honour to cooperate with you,” I replied at once, giving Zhang Tingmei a meaningful look.
Zhang Tingmei understood instantly. She promptly took the seat beside President Gu, while Liu Xue sat on his other side—one pouring wine, the other arranging the cutlery.
“Hahahaha, Supervisor Lin, you certainly know how to talk,” President Gu roared with laughter, clearly delighted.
As the waiter brought in the dishes, I raised my glass. “Come, let’s drink together.”
“Good, let’s drink!”
After the first cup, I signaled Zhang Tingmei to refill the glasses. President Gu took two bites of food, then his coarse hand suddenly brushed against Zhang Tingmei’s fair thigh.
“Aiyo, President Gu, surely that wasn’t intentional?” Zhang Tingmei slapped his hand away and lifted her glass.
“What, does Miss Zhang intend to drink a private toast with me?” President Gu smiled.
“It’s my first time meeting President Gu. Shall we fill our glasses and drink one together?” Zhang Tingmei lightly bit her lip, the corners of her m0uth curving upward.
“Straightforward! I like it!” President Gu beamed, pouring his own glass full.
Glug glug glug!
Watching Zhang Tingmei drain her glass in one go, I genuinely worried for the girl. I knew she could hold her liquor, but at this rate, within minutes she would truly be drunk.
“Enough, we’ve drunk what needed to be drunk. Let’s talk business,” President Gu said briskly.
At those words, Zhang Tingmei and Liu Xue both turned to me. I took a slow sip and spoke calmly. “President Gu, since you asked us for samples, our swimwear line must be quite popular here in Hainan.”
“Hahahaha, it sells decently, yes. But with so many suppliers, why should I choose your company alone? Don’t forget—I’m one of the biggest apparel traders in Hainan. Even conservatively, my annual turnover is over ten billion.”
“Of course. Yet when it comes to swimwear, the Daifen brand is still the most reliable,” I replied quickly.
“Reliable? Most tourists here are individual travelers. They buy something on impulse, wear it a few times, and that’s it—who cares about brand? Your prices are on the high side,” President Gu countered.
Damn old fox, all smiles yet utterly cunning!
I cursed inwardly but kept smiling. “President Gu, our swimwear is the $exiest. Any w0man who wears it—even one lacking confidence—will feel confident.”
“$exy? Just how $exy?” President Gu asked, still smiling.
I shrugged, then signaled to Zhang Tingmei and Liu Xue. They immediately picked up the sample swimsuits and headed toward the private room’s restroom.
“Hm? Supervisor Lin, what’s with the mystery?” President Gu looked surprised, though excitement flickered deep in his eyes.
“So President Gu can see just how $exy our swimwear is. Otherwise, why would I bring beauties along? Don’t you agree?” I laughed.
“Hahahaha, Supervisor Lin, I like you more and more. Compared to last time, you’ve grown much shrewder,” President Gu roared.
“For the sake of this cooperation, I’m giving everything I’ve got,” I said with a smile.
“Good—let’s drink to that.” President Gu gave a sly grin.
Moments later, Zhang Tingmei and Liu Xue returned to the room wearing the $exy swimsuits.
The instant they stepped out, I clearly saw the ravenous desire in President Gu’s eyes. Even I was stunned by their figures; somehow their curves seemed even fuller than before.
“President Gu, do they look good?” Zhang Tingmei asked with a faint smile, sitting down on his left while Liu Xue took his right.
“Tsk tsk—beautiful, truly beautiful!” President Gu was overjoyed, his eyes practically glowing.
“President Gu, here is the order list for these sample styles. If you like them, just place the order,” I said quickly, producing the contract.
“No, no, no—there’s no rush. Let’s eat first.” President Gu shook his head and raised his glass again.
My brows furrowed. Zhang Tingmei and Liu Xue lifted their glasses and drank several more rounds with him.
“Wow, you two beauties can really hold your liquor—another one!”
“No, no—I’ll sip, you two finish your glasses!”
“Wow, Miss Zhang is impressive—another full glass?”
After several such rounds, anger began to rise in me. This President Gu clearly intended to get Zhang Tingmei and Liu Xue drunk. Who drinks one sip himself while forcing others to empty their glasses?
Their faces were already flushed crimson, tinged with pallor. I knew if this continued, they would undoubtedly collapse.
“Here’s the deal—if you two finish these two bottles of red wine, I’ll sign, and I’ll order a thousand sets of each style!” President Gu continued.
At those words, Zhang Tingmei’s and Liu Xue’s eyes grew glassy. They smiled awkwardly, but I knew they could drink no more.
“President Gu, allow this little brother to toast you instead. Little Zhang and Little Liu have had enough,” I hurriedly interjected.
“You? Planning to play hero and save the beauties?” President Gu’s brows knitted; the alcohol had clearly gone to his head, and his expression turned menacing.
“President Gu, this little brother only wishes to drink in their stead,” I said with a forced smile, inwardly seething.
The air in the private room grew tense. Suddenly President Gu summoned the waiter and ordered ten glasses prepared.
Ten glasses of depth charges—baijiu mixed with beer.
“Ten depth charges, all finished within one minute, and the deal is yours!” President Gu spread his hands and sneered at me.
Glancing at the ten menacing glasses, I took a deep breath. Zhang Tingmei and Liu Xue both rose to stop me, but I signaled them to stay out of it.
“Fine! Since President Gu is so generous, this little brother will risk his life to accompany the gentleman!” I declared, grabbing the first glass.
Glug glug glug!
The first burned all the way to my stomach, yet I pressed on, seizing the second.
Thud, thud, thud…
One after another, by the ninth my vision blurred, but I still lifted the tenth and poured it down.
“Excellent!” President Gu roared. Zhang Tingmei and Liu Xue stood up in disbelief, staring at me.
“President Gu, the contract—” I wiped my m0uth and looked at him.
“One thousand pieces of each sample style. I am a man of my word.” President Gu smiled. Zhang Tingmei immediately produced a pen.
Scribble scribble scribble!
Once President Gu had signed, I thanked him profusely and, legs unsteady, escorted him out of the hotel with Zhang Tingmei and Liu Xue supporting me.
“Brother Nan, Brother Nan, are you all right?”
“Brother Nan!”
I heard only their voices close to my ears. They held me up on either side; perhaps my elbows brushed against the fullness of their b00bs, prompting me to open my eyes and glance left and right.
Seeing that they had long since changed back into their own cl0thes, I finally let out a sigh of relief.
