Chapter 60: Your Crimes Are Unforgivable

“Shut up! Your son’s life is just as valuable as anyone else’s!” Zuo Si shouted, cutting off her words.

This family had already gone mad; there was no point in saying more. He pointed at Liu Wenguang and said calmly, “I’ll ask you one thing: do you want him to be utterly destroyed, or do you want him to continue existing in this world?”

“Just tell me how much you want?! We will find a way!” Liu Hong’s body trembled uncontrollably; he would rather die than see his son come to any harm.

“Ha.” Zuo Si sneered, “I don’t want money.”

“Then what do you want?”

“Hand over Liu Wenguang’s vessel, and then you both go to the police station to confess.”

“No way! We can go to the police station to confess, but we can’t give you his vessel!”

“Are you bargaining with me?” Zuo Si looked at Ge Hong and said, “Eliminate him!”

“Ah!!!” Liu Wenguang let out a painful scream, “Dad, Mom, save me, save me!”

“Stop! Please stop! We agree to your terms!” Liu Hong and his wife cried out, looking pitiful.

Anyone unaware of the truth would think Zuo Si was the real villain here.

Zuo Si gestured for Ge Hong to halt.

Liu Hong, trembling, took out a delicate model toy from his pocket and placed it on the ground, as if he had aged decades in an instant.

“I hope you keep your promise!” Liu Hong gritted his teeth; though he felt unwilling, he knew he was outmatched. He regretted not being better prepared. He had thought Meng Miaoxue was Zuo Si’s greatest support, but he hadn’t expected Ge Hong to appear out of nowhere!

Zuo Si directly called the police from within the haunted house, now all that was left was to wait for them to arrive.

After about ten minutes, the police called Zuo Si back, saying they had surrounded the haunted house. Under Zuo Si’s control, Liu Hong and his wife walked out of the terror scene together.

Outside the haunted house, Zuo Si saw some familiar faces; Captain Niu and Li Feng had both arrived.

Zuo Si smiled and greeted them, “Hey! Captain Niu! You guys are working hard, I feel so bad for you!”

Captain Niu patted Zuo Si on the shoulder, laughing, “Hahaha, you kid, you really can run into murderers anywhere!”

Zuo Si replied helplessly, “What can I say? Maybe this is what they call the Conan physique.”

Li Feng looked over Zuo Si’s haunted house and said, “Not bad, I didn’t expect your haunted house to be this big.”

“Alright, we need to focus on the case, let’s go.” After all, this time involved several murder cases, so Captain Niu and Li Feng didn’t chat with Zuo Si for long.

Before getting into the police car, Liu Hong glared at Zuo Si fiercely, threatening, “If you dare to go back on your word! I’ll haunt you even as a ghost!”

Zuo Si ignored him and turned back into the haunted house.

“Although I almost died this time, it wasn’t without gains; I can use Liu Wenguang to experiment with some things.”

In Operating Room No. 3, Liu Wenguang was still firmly controlled by Ge Hong, unable to move an inch.

“Boss, let me go, I won’t dare again.”

“Please, I beg you, boss!!”

Facing his pleas, Zuo Si remained unmoved. How could Zuo Si let him off? He had taken so many innocent lives. Zuo Si had almost died at his hands. He must receive the punishment he deserved.

Looking at the model toy in his hand, Zuo Si curiously asked, “Ge Hong, do you think that if we destroy the vessel of a ghost, the ghost will be harmed?”

Ge Hong shook her head, indicating she didn’t know, then said, “The vessels we ghosts choose are things we loved in life. Once we inhabit them, we develop a kind of obsessive protective instinct. If they are destroyed, I feel like I would go insane.”

Zuo Si nodded and said, “Don’t worry, I will teach you how to keep your vessel safe.”

“Thank you.” Ge Hong’s gaze toward Zuo Si grew softer.

“Don’t mention it; we’ll be family from now on, especially since you just saved my life.”

Zuo Si took out a lighter and directly ignited the model toy in his hand. He wanted to see what would happen when Liu Wenguang’s vessel was destroyed.

“No! No!” Liu Wenguang suddenly went mad, his Yin Qi unable to solidify, scattering everywhere. Even Ge Hong seemed to be on the verge of losing control.

Zuo Si’s pupils constricted, and he shouted urgently, “Meng Miaoxue, come help!”

A white shadow flashed, and Meng Miaoxue appeared instantly, joining Ge Hong to firmly restrain Liu Wenguang.

Although Liu Wenguang unleashed a combat power far beyond before, he was still helpless against the combined efforts of the two.

The toy model gradually burned down to char, but Liu Wenguang showed no signs of being soul-shattered. Instead, he became even more irritable and furious, his gaze fixed on Zuo Si, filled with a desire to devour him alive.

“It seems that destroying the vessel does not harm the ghost but rather provokes them,” Zuo Si realized, understanding that Liu Wenguang had lost his value for exploitation.

“Eliminate him, avenge the owners of the haunted house who died unjustly!” With Zuo Si’s command, Meng Miaoxue and Ge Hong instantly transformed into fierce figures, their Yin power surging as they tore Liu Wenguang into pieces.

The faint soul shadow gradually dissipated. All that remained was Liu Wenguang’s final scream before his soul extinguished, filled with endless fear and unwillingness, fading into the void.

Zuo Si let out a long breath; with that, the hidden dangers of the haunted house had completely vanished. However, no one was left to clean up or restore the props.

Zuo Si glanced at Ge Hong, intending to assign these tasks to her. Yet, to maintain good relations, he did not make it a demand.

“If you want to do it, you can; if you don’t, I’ll think of another way.”

“I can do it,” Ge Hong nodded expressionlessly, not refusing.

But at that moment, Gu Yiyi suddenly jumped out, timidly saying, “Big brother, actually I can do these things. Both sisters have jobs and are already very tired; let me handle these trivial matters.”

“Uh… that’s fine, but I’m afraid you might not manage.”

“It’s okay, if I can’t handle it, I’ll ask the two sisters for help!”

“Alright!” Zuo Si nodded in agreement, noticing that although Ge Hong and Meng Miaoxue seemed to dislike each other, they both looked very gentle when they glanced at Gu Yiyi.

Back in the staff lounge, Zuo Si sat on the bed, feeling a sense of worry.

This crisis seemed to have been resolved, but it left hidden dangers for the next task.

The fear value was completely depleted, all used up. Five thousand had been given to Ge Hong to enhance her strength, but she was not one of “My Ghost Employees.” He could not take her along to complete the task. The remaining fear, although given to Meng Miaoxue, only helped her recover from injuries. There was no increase in strength whatsoever. Tomorrow, he had to undertake the ‘Crying Middle School’ task, which was a one-and-a-half-star mission.

However, the only asset Zuo Si had to rely on was Meng Miaoxue, the lone vengeful spirit. He had initially planned to feed all the fear to Meng Miaoxue, but that was no longer possible.

“Now I can only think of a way to use the daytime tomorrow to raise Ge Hong’s favorability to three stars, and have her join My Ghost Employees. Only in this way, facing the one-and-a-half-star daily task, would there be a possibility of success.One-and-a-half-star tasks could very likely involve entities surpassing vengeful spirits; if I don’t prepare adequately this time, I might very well die on this mission…”
