At this moment, Lu Hun’s expression was filled with boundless hatred and ferocity. He seemed like a vengeful ghost from the depths of hell, his bloodshot eyes locked onto Tian Fan with an intense glare, as if he wished to devour him alive.
The golden divine lamp suspended above his head emitted rings of golden light, but slowly, the golden radiance turned black. Billowing demonic mist spread from the divine lamp, and in that instant, its golden body was completely enveloped in darkness. A sinister aura emerged, pervading the surroundings.
“I’ll kill you! Kill you!”
Lu Hun roared madly. The divine power within him surged like an unbridled wild horse, violently flooding toward the now-blackened demonic lamp.
Tian Fan’s battle spirit soared. Though he sensed an unusual fluctuation, as if something had been summoned back to existence, he remained unafraid. Bathed in golden divine light, he stood like a living deity among mortals.
Clang…
The void trembled as a black portal opened atop the darkened divine lamp. It was as if it led directly to hell, from which the eerie sound of chains clanking echoed outward. A terrifying pressure emanated from within, as though an ancient demon king was imprisoned inside.
“What’s happening? Why is my sword trembling on its own?!”
“My divine halberd too! What’s going on?!”
Many cultivators cried out in shock. Their weapons trembled uncontrollably, refusing to heed their masters’ commands, as if an invisible ruler was gazing down upon them, demanding their submission.
Pfft…
Suddenly, a treasured sword burst into a dazzling purple glow, breaking free from its owner’s grip. To the horror of all, it severed its master’s head in a single slash before soaring toward the pitch-black portal above the demonic lamp. In the blink of an eye, it vanished into the darkness.
Hiss…
Gasps of terror filled the air. The scene was beyond horrifying—never before had anyone witnessed a weapon killing its own master. It was utterly shocking.
Many cultivators, feeling the violent tremors of their own weapons, were filled with dread. Their scalps tingled as they hesitated between discarding their treasured arms or holding onto them. These weapons had been refined over countless years, akin to trusted companions—how could they simply abandon them?
Pfft…
Another horrifying event unfolded. A young cultivator, hesitating over whether to relinquish his spear, suddenly felt a chilling sensation in his chest. A silver spearhead had pierced straight through him, carrying fragments of his shattered heart. His face filled with unwillingness as he collapsed lifelessly into the dust.
Pfft… Pfft… Pfft…
One after another, cultivators perished at the hands of their own weapons—some beheaded, others cleaved in half, and some even impaled through the skull by their own blades.
Clang…
Once again, the black portal echoed with the sound of rattling chains. A devastating pressure surged outward, sweeping across the entire region with annihilating force. Even the slightest ripple from this aura caused the very ground of Tianyun City to crack apart, reducing countless buildings to dust. In the distance, entire mountain ranges crumbled into ruins.
Pfft…
Tian Fan, standing at the forefront, was the first to be struck. He was flung backward violently, his formidable body splitting open with deep cracks as blood gushed out. He was utterly horrified. His physique had already reached the level of the Profound Origin Realm, nearly indestructible—yet now, just a single wisp of that aura had inflicted unimaginable injuries upon him.
The presence was too terrifying. Tian Fan could sense that the black portal contained a sealed entity, an unparalleled demon king. At the very least, it had to be beyond the Return to Immortality realm.
“Haha! You will all die! Every last one of you!”
At this moment, Lu Hun had completely lost his mind. His bloodshot eyes were filled with madness, and he poured his divine power into the black demonic lamp above him without restraint. Even his very life essence was gradually draining away.
Boom… Boom…
A deep fear gripped the cultivators’ souls. Without hesitation, they discarded their weapons and fled toward the skies, desperate to escape.
“That lunatic!”
Huangpu Han cursed under his breath. Using a special secret art, he sealed his divine weapon before swiftly retreating into the distance.
“Haha! Die! Just die already!”
Lu Hun, his hair disheveled and eyes filled with venomous hatred, took one step after another toward Tian Fan.
Tian Fan’s heart pounded. ‘D*mn it, that black portal is too sinister.’ This oppressive presence—he had only ever felt it once before, and it wasn’t from a person… but a dragon.
Boom…
As Lu Hun closed in, the black demonic lamp atop his head was suddenly sent flying by a powerful force, crashing into the dust far away. The black portal trembled, and with a loud clang, it detached itself from the lamp, floating autonomously in the void, fixated upon a distant space.
Boom…
A terrifying aura swirled outward. From within the dark portal, it felt as though an almighty existence was silently watching the world.
Boom…
Just as all the cultivators were on the verge of collapse from tension, the towering black portal suddenly shut itself with a deafening crash. In an instant, all traces of its destructive aura vanished without a trace.
Whoosh…
Tian Fan let out a long breath. Cold sweat drenched his entire body, and he was nearly on the verge of exhaustion.
“No! How could this happen?! I summoned it! Who—who is interfering?!”
Lu Hun finally snapped back to reality, his face ashen and bloodless, like that of a corpse. At least half of his life essence had been consumed by the black portal—or rather, he had been sacrificing his very soul to summon a legendary being.
“You wretched beast! You’re still alive?!”
Lu Hun screeched furiously. The divine lamp flew back to his grasp, regaining its golden brilliance. Without hesitation, he hurled it at Tian Fan.
Boom…
A golden hand struck out, sending Lu Hun flying. His teeth shattered completely from the impact. In his current state, even a peak Spirit Condensation cultivator could threaten his life—let alone Tian Fan.
“You little beast! I’ll k!ll you! K!ll you!”
Lu Hun, deranged and barely able to stand, stumbled forward once more, his murderous intent undying.
“You are truly unwise…”
Tian Fan’s voice was ice-cold. With a flick of his wrist, he seized the golden divine lamp from Lu Hun’s grasp and examined it closely. To his surprise, it bore intricate, cryptic engravings—like a map, pointing to some mysterious location.
“Give it back! Give it back to me!”
Lu Hun howled, lunging forward. But as Tian Fan shot him a cold glare, a faint golden light flickered in his eyes. Instantly, Lu Hun was blasted backward, clutching his head in agony.
“Heaven’s wrath can be forgiven, but self-inflicted sin cannot be absolved. Justice prevails in the hearts of men. Those nine souls have waited too long in solitude… Now, I shall send you to accompany them!”
Tian Fan’s voice was frigid as he gazed at the crazed Lu Hun. Raising his right hand high, an immense sword Qi burst from his fingertips, slicing through the air.
Pfft…
A spray of blood arced through the sky like a dazzling firework. Lu Hun’s eyes widened in disbelief, his face twisted with unwillingness as his body collapsed lifelessly into the dust…
