Chapter 15: Option (part 2)

It was important to know when to take a step back, as pushing too much might result in unsavory consequences.

Fortunately, Stella pricked up her ears and listened to me.

“What do you mean?”

“One, you will always answer ‘yes’ to what I say in the future.”

“What are you talking about?”

“Or two, you will bring your own homemade lunch box every day.”

“No, do you really expect me to that?”

After hearing the second option, Stella looked at me with contemptuous eyes.

So I urged her to choose quickly while waving my two pointed fingers.

“I’ll give you an example, do you like me?”

“What!? I would be crazy like you…!”

“Wrong. You have to say ‘yes’.”

“Do you want me to respond that way to whatever you say in the future?”

“Yes.”

“Is there any food you can’t eat?”

Stella immediately decided on the second option. It was also the most convenient option, so she had no choice but to choose it. It was also the one I intended her to choose.

Anyways, whatever my intentions were, the important thing was that she chose it herself. And, it would remain as a shackle in her heart.

And that brought us to our current situation, where Stella had cooked and brought me a lunch box.

‘I’m glad.’

Not only did she cook rice, but she also baked cakes, bread, and cookies, so I was able to devour excellent snacks in addition to the meal.

It was also a bonus to see Stella handing me a lunch box with a humiliated expression.

Kurung!

The sound of thunder resounded, and the gloomy atmosphere lit up for a brief moment.

‘It sure is pouring very hard…’ I thought in my head, ‘You won’t find me doing anything outside on a day like this.’

While I was making tea with that thought in mind, someone knocked on the door again.

Since I had no prior appointments, I tilted my head in confusion, then opened the door, and found a woman standing outside.

The woman was waring glasses, with her hair tied up in a ponytail. She was also wearing a shirt and a suit skirt, which indicated that she wasn’t a cadet.

“Who are you?”

“My name is Lianne. Principal Katherine’s secretary.”

“What’s the Principal’s secretary want with me?”

“The principal is looking for you, but…were you eating?”

She sniffed and found the smell of the lunchbox left in the room.

I shook my head, closed the door and went outside.

As we headed to the principal’s office, Lianne didn’t say anything more. We maintained our silence until we reached the principal’s office.

“I will be waiting inside.”

“Yes, thank you.”

When I opened the door, I saw the Principal smiling leisurely with a steaming cup of tea at the ready.

As I stepped in, the secretary silently closed the door behind me.

I made eye contact with the Principal and lightly nodded my head.

Principal Catherine smiled as she pointed to the sofa.

“Sit down.”

“Excuse me.”

As I sat down, a soft touch wrapped around my buttocks, which made me wonder if this was also done with  some kind of magic.

The Principal poured herself a cup of tea and gestured me to have mine.

“It’s jasmine tea, do you like it?”

“…I don’t enjoy it.”

“Everyone is like that these days. They don’t know how to enjoy good things.”

Watching her lift the cup, I also followed along and raised mine.

I honestly didn’t know the proper way to have tea, so I decided to just imitate the Principal and brought my nose close to the teacup, pretending to smell it.

‘What’s the hell this smell?’

A faint scent emanated from the cup.

Honestly, it wasn’t a bad scent, but it made me frown when I thought that I would have to drink it.

I hardened my resolve, held my breath and poured the tea in my mouth all at once.

“…are you okay? It must’ve been quite hot.”

“I’m alright… it’s bearable.”

“You should be more careful.”

Saying so, the Principal took the envelope that was on her desk.

It was a fairly familiar envelope.

No, was more than just familiar…

‘Isn’t that my test script?’

“Do you recognize this?”

Asking that, the Principal ripped the seal off the envelope and took out the exam script from inside.

  1. So will MC be hailed as a genius, which author is hinting at, or will the school teachers behave like academics in real life that defend their theories more than their lives? Hope forvthe second but I know and I dread it will be the first. Pity. MC needs a wake up call from his arrogance.

    Thanks for chapter
