Chapter 52: The Principal’s Son

Cr*ap! This has blown up big time. How could this fool be the principal’s son? No, wait, the principal’s son isn’t even at this school.

“Hit me? Hit me in the face!” Chen Tianxiang became even more arrogant after declaring that his dad was the principal.

In high school, who’s the boss? The principal, of course. Even Wang Tong, the director of teaching, doesn’t measure up. If he were Wang Tong’s son, I’d have beaten him until he spat blood.

“Smack!” While I was thinking, the chubby guy slapped Chen Tianxiang across the face. “Hit the principal’s son! Damn it!” he spat on the ground after speaking. Both Zhang Yu and I were stunned. Damn! Is this really the chubby guy?

Though he sounded tough, his legs were trembling. It seems that what Zhang Yu and I said earlier really shook him. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have dared to slap him after knowing he was the principal’s son.

“Idiot, since we’ve already hit him, why not hit him harder?” Zhang Yu raised an eyebrow and looked at me. “He’s drunk; he might not remember our faces.”

This matter definitely wasn’t as simple as Zhang Yu made it sound. Even if Chen Tianxiang was drunk, the person beside him was definitely sober.

Though we could still find Qin Shousheng, I couldn’t bring myself to face him again.

Scr*ew it! A real man doesn’t hesitate. Zhang Yu was right. Since we’ve hit him, there’s no point worrying.

“Chubby, come over here and give him two more slaps!” I said to the trembling chubby guy.

Hearing this, his face turned bitter. “Again?”

“When I tell you to hit, you hit!” Zhang Yu said impatiently.

“I’ll remember what you all look like. Tomorrow, I’ll have my dad expel you!” Chen Tianxiang shouted as if having a principal for a dad was something special.

“Smack! Smack!” The chubby guy slapped him twice more and then sat down on the ground.

Zhang Yu and I let go of Chen Tianxiang and ignored him as he lay on the ground.

Turning to Zhang Yu, I said, “Yu, you and the chubby guy go back first. I’ll see Sun Jing off.”

“Get up.” Zhang Yu kicked the chubby guy and looked at me. “No problem.” The two of them walked off shoulder to shoulder.

I took the thermos from Sun Jing’s hand and said, “Let’s go.”

“Desk mate, if he’s really the principal’s son, you guys are in trouble,” Sun Jing said worriedly.

“I’ve been here for two years and never heard of the principal’s son being at our school. He must be drunk and talking nonsense.” As soon as I finished speaking, Chen Tianxiang, lying on the ground, suddenly sat up and shouted, “My dad is the principal!” and then lay back down.

“I heard the principal’s son recently transferred to our school,” Sun Jing said with a worried face.

Crap! Could he really be the principal’s son? I needed to call Wang Tong to find out. He would know for sure.

“It doesn’t matter; we can’t change it now. It’s no use regretting,” I pretended to be indifferent. Showing off in front of girls was necessary.

At the girls’ dormitory entrance, Sun Jing took the thermos and said guiltily, “It’s all because of me. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have gotten into this mess.”

“Don’t think about it. Go back and get some sleep,” I patted her shoulder.

Sun Jing nodded, waved at me, and returned to her dormitory.

I took out my phone and called Wang Tong. If Chen Tianxiang was really the principal’s son, this would be a big problem.

“Master Xia, what can I do for you?” Wang Tong answered obsequiously.

I adjusted my tone. “Did the principal’s son recently transfer to our school?”

“Yes, just yesterday. Did Master Xia have a conflict with him?” Wang Tong, a seasoned educator, hit the nail on the head.

“What’s his name?” I didn’t answer his question directly.

Wang Tong seemed to ponder for a moment. “I think it’s Chen Tianxiang.”

Damn! That idiot really is the principal’s son.

Seeing that I didn’t respond, Wang Tong continued, “Did he offend you, Master Xia?”

“I just beat him up. No, I beat him up twice.” Since I couldn’t think of a solution, I wanted to see Wang Tong’s reaction.

“You beat up the principal’s son!” Wang Tong was initially shocked but quickly calmed down. “But it’s fine. You know Director Li, so it won’t be a big deal.”

Wang Tong still thought I was relying on Director Li, whom I’d never met. But I didn’t want to trouble Qin Shousheng again. Thinking it over, I came up with a plan and asked Wang Tong, “What do you think of the principal?”

“That old guy is no good. Many young female teachers were taken advantage of by him when they first joined the school!” Wang Tong said viciously, with a hint of jealousy.

I got anxious. “Has Sister Qian been troubled by him?”

“Are you talking about Zhao Qian? He wouldn’t dare touch her with a ten-foot pole!” Wang Tong’s response relieved me and made me wonder about Sister Qian’s background. It was clear from his words that she wasn’t just anyone.

“Anything else?” This alone wasn’t enough for my plan.

“Of course!” Wang Tong got more excited. “That old guy always finds excuses to apply for funds from higher-ups and then embezzles a lot.”

That’s the key. Messing with female teachers was one thing, but embezzling was a serious crime nowadays. I smiled and said, “Does Director Wang have ambitions for the principal’s position?”

Wang Tong understood my implication but still tested the waters. “You want to bring him down and make me the principal?”

“Do you have that ambition?” I pretended to be impatient.

“Yes! Of course!” Wang Tong quickly said, afraid to miss this opportunity.

I smiled. “You must have a lot of evidence, right?” Judging by his tone, Wang Tong had long wanted to bring the principal down but hadn’t had the chance.

“Yes, quite a bit.” Wang Tong confirmed my guess.

“Tomorrow, take all the evidence to the Education Bureau and hint to Director Li that it’s my idea.” Though I didn’t know Director Li, he definitely knew me. Even if he didn’t respect me, he would respect Qin Shousheng.

When a high school student’s expulsion could prompt a call from the education director, it showed how much Director Li valued me—or rather, Qin Shousheng.

“Thank you, Master Xia. I’ll organize the evidence right away and call Director Li!” Wang Tong excitedly hung up.

I sighed in relief. The issue with the principal’s son seemed resolved.

I collected myself, walked into the dormitory with a smile, and looked at Zhang Yu and the chubby guy lying on their beds. “Idiots, I’m back!”
